Chapter 351: Chapter 341 How the Melter Goes Out
Under the moonlight, the luminance of the White Lighthouse swept over the cliff, and Tang Qi’s figure slowly emerged.
His back was still shrouded in the diffuse mist, and the rows of stone pillars gradually disappearing into it, topped with white buildings.
A rare look of profound fatigue appeared on Tang Qi’s face.
He had thought that tonight’s “Isolation Zone trip” would allow him to investigate all ten Level 5 Danger Source students, or at least half of them.
But the result was that, after resolving and appeasing the “Hannahs,” he was left completely drained of Magic Power and energy.
Especially the latter, as being a father is not an easy task.
The Hannahs were even younger than Shay.
Though their appearances were quite frightening, Tang Qi saw them as adorable little girls, each sharing the same positive emotions, completely identical and well-behaved lolitas.
Still, when they got rowdy, it was indeed headache-inducing.
Tang Qi left the Upper District and headed towards the Library Tower.
He was supposed to reside on the floor where the Principal’s office was located, but due to the presence of Esmeralda’s “painting,” Tang Qi decided to live directly in the “Library Tower” during his tenure as a principal.
By the way, he planned to read through as many arcane books in the tower as possible.
It would be best to completely clear them, if possible.
However, judging from the sheer number of books displayed on just the first three floors, it seemed it would take a very long time to do a full sweep.
Returning to the Library Tower, Tang Qi went directly to the fourth floor.
This place was once Esmeralda’s “Witch Laboratory.”
Compared to the Principal’s office, it was spotless here.
Probably because anything that once belonged to Esmeralda was moved out before the start of the Immortal Earl’s Major Event.
Now it is a somewhat huge, empty four-story dwelling, which Tang Qi took as his long-term principal’s residence.
As soon as he returned, Tang Qi immediately entered a Meditation State.
Helping both Shay and Hannah had drained Tang Qi of his spiritual power. If the remaining eight Level 5 Danger Source students were as problematic, Tang Qi reckoned it would take some time to neutralize the dangers within them.
And success was not guaranteed.
For example, Shay’s situation had not been entirely resolved.
The Hannahs also had severe “after-effects” that were yet to be dealt with.
To Tang Qi, this was not surprising, as even the Witch Group led by Esmeralda had not been able to completely resolve the ten Level 5 Danger Sources, allowing them to attend school like normal Extraordinary Children, despite a considerable length of time.
Even if Tang Qi could cheat using his Special Ability, it would not happen overnight.
An hour later, Tang Qi woke from his meditation.
His spiritual power was replenished, and the minor injury he sustained from withstanding a mental Attack from the seventh Hannah was also healed.
Tang Qi brewed himself an Extraordinary Drink, something simple to invigorate the spirits, not from the “Extraordinary Creature Cooking Guide.” Holding a receptacle akin to an old cadre’s cup, he slowly made his way down from the fourth to the first floor.
It was now around four or five in the morning, and the school was enveloped in Peace.
The first floor of the Library Tower was empty, except for Tang Qi.
He did not continue towards the “Isolation Zone,” but instead, disregarded access limits, strolling leisurely through various areas while pondering thoughts in his mind.
After taking on the role of principal, Tang Qi had yet to sort through his thoughts.
Now was a good opportunity.
Undoubtedly, for Tang Qi, the Merada Special Education School presented a tremendous opportunity in all respects.
It could potentially bolster everything he desired, and if he played his cards right, it might bring about a rare leap in his abilities.
“At the moment, I have many tasks: being a good principal, getting familiar with the Lake Island Secret Realm, finding a way to solve the issues of the ten Level 5 Danger Source students one by one. And if possible, cultivate some powerful subordinates, like McGraw, whose foundation should be nearly ready. Perhaps I can usher him into the Extraordinary World officially; he just needs a reputable public identity.”
“Indeed, besides that, as a principal, I should also integrate myself into the Mysterious Side of Secret Phoenix City and even the entire Secret Phoenix State.”
“However, the most pressing matter is to enhance my own power.”
“Before obtaining Matching witchcraft for the Melter Wizard lineage, I’ve always been cautious about leveling up. Now that I have the Sacrifice Method, and some spare Merit, perhaps I can be more daring about advancing to Professional Level as a Melter Wizard. With Flame Spell and Illusion Spell as covers, as long as I stay cautious, it’s unlikely I’ll be exposed.”
“Of course, I can’t neglect the cultivation of other witchcraft and Chaga Fighting Technique, along with a heap of witchcraft I know of but haven’t started on, especially the ones in Ralph’s notebook. They have extremely high potential, and perhaps I should seriously develop them.”
…
One thought after another surfaced, Tang Qi’s mind was bustling yet orderly.
At present, the Molter Wizard seemed the most promising candidate for reaching Professional Level.
The witchcraft in Ralph’s notebook had high potential, and spells such as the Life Spell and Soul Splitting Spell dealt with rules that deeply alarmed Tang Qi. But as a stream created by a Wild Wizard, there was currently no apparent hope for reaching Professional Level.
As for the Original Secret Medicine School, he was just one Rubber Fruit away from Promotion to apprentice, unfortunately, the Fruit remained elusive.
“Sigh.”
While engrossed in thought, Tang Qi suddenly glanced at the area he was in.
Professional Secret Zone!
Below the sign, a bit of introductory information was revealed.
This was an area housing books related to the secrets of various professions. There were unexpectedly many books inside.
Before entering, the title of a book caught Tang Qi’s eye on the first shelf ahead: “Detailed Analysis of the Black Witch Sect,” “Detailed Analysis of the White Witch Sect,” “Secrets of Advancement for Various Demon Hunter Sects,” “A List of Common Secret Phrases among Beast Shepherds,” “Does the Headless Knight Truly Exist?”, “The Purpose Behind Witch Hunters?”…
These book titles did not pique Tang Qi’s interest.
However, this area reminded Tang Qi of something; his expression changed, and he strode right in.
His sharp gaze quickly swept across each bookshelf made of Dark Red Boro Wood, briefly scanning the titles.
Since this area is called the professional secrets book section, it obviously contains some books that appear to be quite thrilling and of interest.
For example, with a casual glance, Tang Qi suddenly saw a book called “How to Taint a Bright Knight?”. If the Bright Church found out about this book, they would undoubtedly protest, then demand the Witch Group hand it over and destroy the original.
What’s more terrifying is that there are even more outrageous ones.
Such as… “How to Taint a Bright Saintess?”.
Tang Qi could see this book title because of his invincible authority.
If it were any other borrower, they would see the title as “List of Church Saints”.
If it were any other time, Tang Qi would have had a lot of interest in the latter book.
But now, Tang Qi already had a target in mind.
After looking through more than a dozen bookshelves and just as he was about to wonder if his search had been in vain, his target suddenly came into view.
Tang Qi immediately stopped in his tracks.
He reached out a hand and took down three books from a shelf in front of him all at once.
Not only were they of the same type, but even the titles were very similar.
Moreover, they were highly relevant to Tang Qi himself.
Those three books were:
The Faith of the Melter!
Melter Wizard’s Complete Record of Death!
How did the Melting Furnace go out?
Just from the titles, one could sense the malice contained within.
Their authors were not the same person, but each book was a heavy tome.
Tang Qi made the three books hover in front of him and quickly returned to the viewing area,
After a glance, he opened “The Faith of the Melter”.
However, after only a few brief looks, he quickly gave up.
This thick book was essentially a “compendium of flattery,” with the author definitely being a Molten Furnace Wizard who shamelessly wrote an entire book to praise and glorify the “Master of the Crucible”, filled with nauseating flattery.
Tang Qi felt that if the author was still alive, Ralph should seek his advice on how to become a qualified boot-licker.
The second book opened, and Tang Qi’s eyes lit up – it was full of valuable content.
The entire book was devoted to a single theme, which was “how much the Molten Furnace Wizard profession loved courting death”.
It started with the Dark Age, where the Molten Furnace Wizard lineage emerged, reportedly originated from a sun-worshipping totemic tribe, a group of Sun fanatics who spent all day challenging other tribes to fight.
Their slogan was both shameful and excessive: “On behalf of the great Sun, we shall eliminate you!”.
Entering the Dark Age, this lineage suddenly developed the “sacrificial method,” almost overtaking other professions such as Beast Shepherds and Spirit Summoners in a shortcut manner, and was a strong contender for the top spot, or even champion, in the death-courting profession ranking.
Their way of courting death was usually the same.
That is… to confront Evil Gods!
Every Melter Wizard, once they gained the sacrifice method, would immediately start looking for Evil Gods or believers all over Blue Star, ready to sacrifice at the slightest disagreement.
Because of Melting Furnace Power’s restraint against chaotic, evil creatures, their success rate was not low.
Most crucially, under such an extreme “combat for sustenance” method, the Molten Furnace Wizard lineage grew at a terrifying pace and in a short time, ranked among the strongest wizard sects on Blue Star, even competing with monstrous professions for the top position.
Page by page, Tang Qi saw records of the Melter Wizards confronting Evil Gods.
As possibly the only surviving Molten Furnace Wizard on Blue Star, Tang Qi wondered as he read about his predecessors’ “great achievements,” does the tendency to court death truly spread?
Is there not one in the entire sect who could resist provoking an Evil God?
The answer was found after Tang Qi opened the third book.
How did the Melting Furnace go out?
Unquestionably, it was through courting death.
The consequence of sacrificing Evil Gods everywhere was that eventually, more than a dozen Evil God believers banded together and eradicated the Molten Furnace Wizard lineage.
However, there were also Molten Furnace Wizards who were wronged; they resisted the urge to sacrifice Evil Gods and practiced meditation in a normal way. The end result was that these wizards were too weak in combat, far surpassed by any Son of the Melting Furnace who had performed sacrifices.
Therefore, they became cannon fodder in the final battle.
“Boom”
Tang Qi closed the last book with a strange look on his face, uttering his conclusion.
“So, unlike other wizards, for the Molten Furnace Wizard lineage, serious cultivation is useless?”
“To strengthen the Melter, one must continuously add fuel, or make a sacrifice to the Master of the Crucible, to gain knowledge and power, and the sacrificial offering must be an Evil God or something highly related to an Evil God.”
A strong feeling suddenly rose at the bottom of his heart at this moment.
He, Tang Qi, might have inadvertently boarded a crooked ship.
