Chapter 335: 329 Fallen Witch
Chapter 335: Chapter 329 Fallen Witch
Adelun Street, located in the harbor area, is a secluded street mainly home to welfare institutions such as orphanages, soup kitchens, free legal aid, and also a school specifically for “special children,” the Merada Special Education School.
Although there isn’t much to profit from here, the thugs venting their violent desires clearly don’t consider this; every building in the area has suffered varying degrees of damage, and the streets are a complete mess, with several cars and a bus ablaze, thick smoke slowly engulfing the entire street.
At this moment, a swirl of smoke and shadow, elongating as it dragged, appeared instantly in front of an antiquated building.
“Whoosh”
As the smoke and shadows dissipated, three figures emerged.
Tang Qi with Little Lioness in tow, and the teenager Sleeper Noah being set down by the Night Beast, who had carried him over clutched in its jaws. Although the boy didn’t seem uncomfortable, he eagerly tried to twist his head to get a clear look at the Night Beast but could only see a shadow.
In front of the trio, a door plaque was broken in two, with the parts faintly showing ‘Adelun Street’ and ‘333’.
Tang Qi glanced at what would be his future territory; the porch was destroyed, revealing two worlds within.
On the realistic level, the ordinary staff responsible for front desk services lay on the ground, life and death unknown.
And behind a swirling glow, the real “school” was visible.
An extremely antiquated, solemn building, its interiors simple and clean, pulsating with traces of Magic Power, but a casual glance revealed that the place had almost turned into ruins due to intense combat among Extraordinary classes?
Tang Qi ignored the realistic part and, with Nina and Noah, walked directly into the ghostly glow at the porch and entered the true school.
Originally, there should have been a Magic Device here, requiring a passphrase to enter the real Merada Special Education School, but now that device was forcibly destroyed, and the passphrase invalidated. Now any Transcendent who could see the magic entrance could enter.
As soon as the three stepped in, a strong bloody scent, mixed with other foul and strange smells, pervaded what should be a sanctified and solemn building.
In the spacious hall, several corpses lay at the center, with more in the left-side reception room, ahead by the spiral staircase, and outside the washroom to the back side. Each level up the staircase, even above the dome, bore numerous signs of battle, including corrosion, breakage, and scorched scenes.
Most of the dead were invaders, like those “Lizard Men” before, and some other repulsive Extraordinary Biological creatures, but there were also more than a dozen witches and reception staff who died in Extraordinary class combat, unable to resist after the invaders withstood the school’s Defensive Magic.
“A plunder!”
Tang Qi’s expression instantly darkened.
In the alley earlier, Tang Qi had learned through one of the Lizard Man Big Men what had exactly happened here.
Several gang forces in Secret Phoenix City possessing Extraordinary Power, along with some evil-leaning organizations, had taken advantage of the chaos, knowing that the Church and the Ancient Castle Bureau were overwhelmed at the moment, and brazenly launched an attack on Merada Special Education School.
The purpose?
Besides plundering Curios and some Extraordinary Materials from the school, more crucially, they aimed to abduct the students.
On the Mysterious Side, Transcendents are also a kind of resource. Especially the younger ones with strong potential for moldability, they are premium resources coveted by those Evil Organizations, who, if they managed to capture and control them by some means, would effectively possess growing Extraordinary Puppets.
If the Merada Witch Group were still around, these forces clearly wouldn’t dare do this.
But the news that the Witch Group collectively entered the Tree Demon Secret Realm to recuperate had probably long since spread throughout the Extraordinary World of Secret Phoenix City.
Without the witches in charge, these organizations saw the school as vulnerable prey.
It’s easy to understand how such a disaster could happen once someone took the lead.
Noah, who was extremely excited just a second ago, now had a face completely overtaken by sorrow, anger, and fear.
Little Lioness Nina clutched Tang Qi’s hand tighter. The two youngsters’ gazes moved and quickly settled on the spiral staircase, where lay an elderly woman’s body coiled in the corner; her body was stiff, her chest cavity penetrated by some Extraordinary Power, blood spattered out, dyeing the little girl she was holding in her arms a blood-soaked figure.
“Ah~”
“Granny Maggie… and Little Aisi.”
Noah and Nina evidently recognized the old woman and the little girl in her arms and couldn’t contain the sadness on their faces as tears welled up.
Tang Qi’s gaze also swept there, he knew that Granny Maggie
was an old witch, not very powerful, only skilled in concocting Secret Medicine and a bit of Defensive Magic, primarily responsible for looking after the newly received students in the “Outer Institute,” which was this building, until they passed safety assessments to enter the “Main Campus.”
Noah and Nina, along with the little girl Aisi in her arms, belonged to this category.
It was just unexpected that the school would suddenly undergo such a “change”.
As Tang Qi’s gaze lingered, a few remaining Information Fragments flowed by, and suddenly, a strong ghost light surged forth.
“Hmm?”
With a thought, Tang Qi appeared before the spiral stairs, his hands glowing with the Melting Furnace Power softening Maggie’s rigid body, then lifted the little girl—smaller than Nina and completely stained red with blood—out of her arms.
Unexpectedly, apart from the blood, there were no injuries on her body.
She was still alive!
She was under the influence of two witchcraft spells, one putting her to sleep and the other protecting her from harm.
Undoubtedly, the caster was Maggie.
Her own life was the price.
Holding Little Aisi in his arms, just as Tang Qi was about to do something.
Suddenly, a series of abnormal noises surrounded them.
“Hiss~”
“Hiss hiss”
“Fleeing prey actually came back on its own?”
“And brought back new food, helping us find a fish that slipped through the net.”
…
The source of these voices were a dozen figures emitting a foul stench.
They seemed to have climbed down from the top of the spiral staircase, the highest level of the Outer Institute. Tang Qi saw the familiar Lizard Man, as well as other “invaders.”
Several monsters, dressed in black robes that covered almost everything except their faces and claws, appeared to be bald with greenish eyes, their skin covered in signs of rot, and their damp yellow rotting teeth, disgusting claws occasionally probing out.
Two giant figures, emitting a “corpse stench,” their skin and even organs seemed to be stitched together from others, visible stitching scars included, one of the Big Men even had an extra eyeball sewn onto his forehead, giving off a somewhat dangerous aura.
Besides them, Tang Qi also saw more familiar monsters.
The most numerous were close to ten “Hounds.”
Both males and females, their appearance slightly different from the Hounds Tang Qi had seen before; those yellow, purple, and black and white Hounds, although all monsters, had a pure yet violent aura, while the nearly ten Hounds present might fit into a “Morphological Show.”
However, the aura emanating from their bodies made Tang Qi absolutely certain that they had all taken the ‘Evil Flower Potion.’
But Tang Qi did not immediately delve into it; his gaze swiftly swept past all the monsters, and turned to a human figure that appeared suddenly, about one meter in front of him, almost as if through instant teleportation.
The figure of a woman, the true source of the foul stench.
A witch!
She was dressed in ragged black robes, revealing many parts, but the visible skin was neither fair nor voluptuous, only displaying rot, black spots, and some bizarre symbols, including her face.
A dense ghost light, thicker than any other monster present, streaked across Tang Qi’s eyes.
A special image formed directly.
[Extraordinary Creature: Fallen Witch.]
[State: Normal.]
[Information Fragment One: A completely evil witch from a chaotic camp. Although she is only a beginner in the entire group of Fallen Witches, she is a terrifying entity for ordinary Transcendents, possessing the ability to cast charm, hypnosis, curse, and deadly poisons.]
[Information Fragment Two: Her hobby is making voodoo puppets, and they must be young, handsome men.]
…
“So that’s it!”
When this Fallen Witch appeared, Tang Qi quickly realized another reason for the school’s mishap.
A simple, yet very Normal reason: a quest for revenge.
While the Merada Witch Group deterred the entire Mysterious Side of Secret Phoenix State with their horrifying reputation, they inevitably made some enemies, like a completely corrupted witch faction, which left Secret Phoenix State in embarrassment under the expulsion of Merada Witches.
Especially their leader, who was not only killed by Esmeralda but also drawn into comics to be humiliated.
Now that the Merada Witches were to be gone for a long time, they took this opportunity to come back for revenge.
Although in terms of combat power, this group of Fallen Witches was defeated by the Merada Witches, they still count as a powerful Extraordinary Organization.
And the other monsters in the scene, as well as their backing organizations, were not considered significant.
Tang Qi’s gaze casually swept past, and a stream of Information Fragments flowed by.
Besides the Lizard Man, there were:
“Extraordinary Creature: Carrion Eater, a monster that lives by devouring rotting corpses, unable to adapt to sunlight, hiding during the day, only active at night, possesses extraordinary speed, strength several times that of normal humans, and is filled with deadly toxins, prefers to store corpses until they rot before consuming.”
“Extraordinary Creature: Assembler, similar to some science monsters in novels and movies, stitching various organs onto oneself to gain strength, they desperately desire the organs from Transcendents…”
“Extraordinary Creature: Deformed Hunting Hound, due to the Shepherd Sect being officially eradicated by the Federation, the upper echelon and main force moved underground, resulting in some [Evil Flower Potion] lost outside, some ambitious individuals improved the potion, those who took it gained a fraction of the real Hound’s power, but the mortality rate drastically decreased, one of the side effects is causing deformities.”
…
When the Fallen Witch and a dozen monsters appeared and surrounded them.
Nina Noah showed fear, but at this moment, Tang Qi revealed a slight smile.
“What are you smiling about, my handsome love…”
“Huff”
The witch’s voice was husky and unpleasant, her body emitting a stench that made one want to pass out, but she approached Tang Qi with an extremely flirtatious tone, shaking her ugly body, taking a step to get close to him.
At the same time, her hand wrapped in wisps of black smoke also slowly reached towards Tang Qi’s face.
The rest of the monsters seemed too frightened to interrupt the witch’s “hunting” process, each shrinking back and watching the scene unfold.
