Chapter 329: Chapter 324 Special Education School
Jason was rewarded with a “delicious meat soup” not only because of Tang Qi’s wicked sense of humor, but it was also a small gesture of appreciation.
That night, if it hadn’t been for Jason’s “Tilos Time Dice,” Tang Qi would have probably had to exhaust his last trump card in order to keep the suddenly rampant Merada.
He had exchanged for “Temporary Divinity” and “Profanity Blood Curse” from projections of the Master of the Crucible, using up all three Sun Merit tokens. After sacrificing a chunk of the Dark Dominator’s flesh, another Sun Merit token was obtained. Perhaps he could exchange it for new witchcraft or some kind of Extraordinary Power from the projections to keep Merada.
Jason’s intervention spared Tang Qi from spending his resources.
A bowl of delicious meat soup as thanks was, strictly speaking, insufficient.
This made Tang Qi suddenly remember that the source of the delicious meat soup was a book written by a cooking enthusiast who happened to be a wizard. Though the wizard had long since fallen, his “Extraordinary Creature Cooking Guide” had ended up with Tang Qi, complete with a handy delicious assistant knife.
“If you’re too bored in Secret Phoenix City, perhaps you could consider switching careers to become an Extraordinary Chef; there’s an available cooking guide, an Extraordinary Knife, and tasters like Gluttony, the Night Beast, and Jason. It seems that not giving it a try would be a mistake.”
“One bowl of soup is not enough? Then make it two.”
While Tang Qi entertained these thoughts, Jason had already recovered and was joyously feeling a boost in strength within his body.
Not a significant increase, but the improvement from just one bowl of soup was surprising enough.
If it weren’t for the unforgettable taste, Jason would already be longing for a second bowl.
Little did he know, Tang Qi was already contemplating offering him a second bowl.
Just as Tang Qi was pondering over the choice of his first dish of Extraordinary Cooking, a blonde woman dressed in something akin to an airline stewardess uniform from a previous life hurried into the VIP room; she was tall and fair, instantly setting her sights on Tang Qi and his companions upon entering.
Seeing the woman approaching, Tang Qi dispelled the Illusion Spell.
From a distance, Tang Qi could already see the badge on her chest.
This stewardess named “Gloria” politely nodded to each one of them and then bowed slightly, “Gentlemen, The Black Swan is ready for boarding.”
“Let’s go!”
In the presence of a beautiful woman, Jason didn’t show the slightest bit of his humorous self.
He got up like a gentleman and took the lead with the stewardess toward a special passage on the side of the VIP room.
All the while, he didn’t forget to skilfully start a conversation with her.
None of his previous weakness or paleness was present, and in no time at all he had coaxed a light laugh out of the stewardess.
Rafael, who obviously was used to this partner’s antics, neatly packed a bunch of reports and simultaneously didn’t forget to explain to Tang Qi at his side: “The Hastings’ Will had to depart suddenly to the Federation’s north for a mission. Normally, we would purchase tickets and take a commercial plane back to Secret Phoenix City. However, a noble with good relations with us happened to have his private jet passing through, so we can catch a ride.”
“The Black Swan, that’s the name of the plane, and it’s roughly the size of the Hastings’ Will.”
Since it was a private plane, naturally, there was no need to queue or go through any other checks.
Passing through the corridor, Tang Qi soon laid eyes on “The Black Swan.”
A huge jet plane that could be described as an “Iron Monster,” distinct from the predominantly white painted aircraft on the other runways, The Black Swan was mostly painted black with some twisted patterns along both sides extending to the tail fins.
At first glance, one could feel a strong visual impact,
Compared to it, other airliners seemed quite ordinary.
Suddenly, Tang Qi recalled the wealthy and noble circles he had come into contact with or heard about in Messer City—neither the Mellon Family nor the Hastu Club seemed to own anything like “a private plane.”
He was struck by a stark reminder of the wealth disparity.
“This is a special model produced by the Federation Divine Wings Company, mostly sold to the greatest tycoons and nobles across Blue Star. If you only buy the original model, without personal modifications, it’s about 300,000 Divine Grace. With your fortune, it seems like you could afford one.”
Perhaps because Tang Qi gave it a few extra glances, Rafael suddenly appeared beside him to explain in detail.
However, the conclusion caused the corner of Tang Qi’s mouth to twitch.
Buy a private plane?
How could he?
Even if The Black Swan was extremely attractive, and the bold style of the steel beast appealed to Tang Qi,
Just the thought of purchasing it, requiring over ninety percent of his fortune, Tang Qi immediately shook his head.
“Buying it is just the initial expense, right? Maintenance and customization is where the real cost comes in.”
Tang Qi glanced at The Black Swan’s imposing paint job and couldn’t help but comment.
He couldn’t afford a private jet in his previous life on Earth, but he did know this much as residual knowledge.
According to his estimates, Tang Qi’s fortune of somewhat over 300,000 Divine Grace, spending it on a plane would mean he’d have to forget about progressing in his training; he’d have to work hard to earn money just to keep up with the spending rate.
Moreover, as a Transcendent with abilities like “Fog Body” and with the Night Beast, he didn’t really need a private jet at all.
If it hadn’t been for the exceptionally long journey, which would have taken Tang Qi at least a day using his Fog Body or the Night Beast, he opted for convenience in favor of comfort, mooching a ride from the Ancient Castle Bureau.
Led by the stewardess “Gloria,” the trio boarded The Black Swan.
Internally, as luxurious and spacious as imagined, besides the normal seats and sofas, there were several rooms, a small bar, and even a movie projection setup.
However, after the “novelty” wore off, Tang Qi quickly lost interest in anything else.
Rafael and Jason, as senior personnel of the Ancient Castle Bureau, could travel far on the “William”.
Aside from Gloria, there were other beautiful flight attendants on the plane.
However, neither Tang Qi nor Rafael showed any interest, instead, they were dragged by Jason to play games.
The two randomly chose seats, Rafael continued to take out various reports and manuscripts from the cloth bag for research, while Tang Qi, instead of being engrossed in “Monster Dissection Method”, took out some materials from Gluttony’s belly.
Before taking office, he needed to do some homework.
As the real “leader” of the Witch Group.
At a time when all witches had lost their Magic Power and the Tree Demon had to guard the Secret Realm to help the witches recover, Tang Qi had to replace Esmeralda to receive and secure the Witch Group’s most important current “industry”.
The Merada Special Education School!
The materials Tang Qi took out had the name of that industry on the cover, which was the first thing that caught his eye.
Upon opening the first page, a burst of light surged out immediately.
Similar to the feeling when he previously read the comic “Immortal Legend”, with an approach close to reality, Tang Qi was made aware of the origin of this school.
To his surprise, the founder of this school was not Esmeralda, even less so the First Generation Melada.
It was Esmeralda’s mother, a too kind-hearted witch.
She seemed to be the first to defy the Ancestor’s wishes, not wholeheartedly scheming to make the prophecy come true, but choosing to use the Bloodline Power inherited from First Generation Melada to establish a school dedicated to sheltering extraordinary children and providing special education.
Perhaps because of this, she was not favored by the First Generation Melada, and with her Magic Power continually waning, plus the absence of the Spiritual Tide’s return, she only had time to complete the primary stage of establishing the school before she died earlier than other Merada witches due to the depletion of Magic Power.
All subsequent tasks were completed after Esmeralda returned from her travels around Blue Star and resettled in Secret Phoenix City.
The seeds of hatred for the Ancestor, shared by Esmeralda and the other witches, might have been sown at the time of her mother’s death.
The mission of this school is to shelter “monsters”, or what ordinary people see as monsters, to let them lead some semblance of a normal life.
When the Spiritual Tide was absent, the Mysterious Side concealed itself.
But this does not mean that the Extraordinary World has completely vanished since “Doomsday Magic” can be smuggled over, suggesting that the rules that hide the Extraordinary are not entirely flawless.
Some ordinary people might receive special powers by accident.
Or bizarre incidents may occur.
If they’re adults, there are more ways to deal with them, and their fates will not be too miserable.
But it’s different for some special children.
Because of their “specialness,” their lives will be tragic.
Of course, the number of these “monster” children will not be large, at the beginning of the school founded by Esmeralda’s mother, there were even only three students, among which only one accidentally obtained Extraordinary Power, while the other two were simply ordinary deformed children.
But with the return of the Spiritual Tide, everything changed.
More and more “monster children” were born, but because the Federation and the Church chose to conceal the Extraordinary World, the entire Blue Star remained peaceful.
Therefore, these monster children, because they became special, encountered disgust from relatives, friends, schools, or the community.
Most of them do not have apparent deformed traits.
So, a special educational institution became the best destination for these children.
The number of students began to surge.
Initially, it was not difficult for Esmeralda, together with a group of witches, to develop such a school with their strength.
In fact, they did exactly that.
In Secret Phoenix State, the Merada Special Education School is an institution recognized by both the official and the Church, equivalent to having a semi-official status.
If it wasn’t for the subsequent “Immortal Count’s Major Event”, perhaps soon after, the Merada Special Education School would have had a strong reputation not only in Secret Phoenix State but also throughout the Mysterious Side of the entire Federation.
But now, it’s just started.
While the witches were taking in a large number of “monster children”, they also had to collectively head to Winston Town to solve a curse that had lasted for hundreds of years.
Originally, Esmeralda had some measures reserved in case they all perished.
Now, of course, it is no longer necessary.
The only change is that the Principal is a new one.
It can be anticipated that when Tang Qi departs for his position, on top of his other titles within the Ancient Castle Bureau, the Church, and other forces or institutions, one more will likely be added.
