Chapter 239: Chapter 227 Giant entanglement, falling into disadvantage, dead end! (2/3)

"You worms, don’t run!" (in the Magic Race Language)

Seeing Xu Tianci and the others making a clean getaway, Fika was enraged!

If the High Priest found out that it had botched the alliance with the Demon Clan and used up God-Given Power but achieved no results, it feared death would be a luxury!

It roared and charged forward, raising its hand to hurl a fireball that suddenly lit up in its palm at Chu Feng’s head, followed by a fiery tongue that spewed out towards Chu Feng’s face!

"Crying for your father, are you? Sounds horrible," Chu Feng taunted.

Dodging the fiery tongue by ducking low, Chu Feng forcefully launched himself off the ground and hugged Fika’s waist, flipping it over onto the ground.

Immediately after, he raised his radiant fist and smashed it down hard on the panicking Fika!

"Boom!"

A punch knocked Fika’s cheek askew, leaving it feeling a sour pain as if its teeth had been knocked out by Chu Feng!

"Scram! Get off me!" Fika bellowed, reverted to human speech for the first time in ages. Sudden blue fiery rings lit up around its body and exploded with a bang!

"Bang, bang, bang!"

A series of explosions detonated between them, catching Chu Feng off guard and sending him flying through the air, he landed heavily on the ground.

Fika, on the other hand, stood up and cast magic with one hand to restrain Chu Feng’s movements while fiercely beating him with the other.

The tide of battle turned, and Chu Feng struggled to fend off the attacks. His combat experience was far less extensive than Fika’s, and he gradually started losing ground.

At first, he managed to gain an advantage through sheer brute force, but once Fika adapted to his tactics and started to counter his moves, Chu Feng became the one taking a beating and resisted with difficulty.

The two titans exchanged blows, a punch for a kick. Every move they made carried immense power, stirring up clouds of dust with each gesture, causing tremors in the earth with every stomp, sending a shiver down the spine of the Demon Clan members on the sidelines.

The alert demons had already packed up all their belongings and begun to flee for their lives. The slower, more cumbersome ones struggled to summon their wits and join the ill-fated exodus upon seeing the others escape.

This damned place is no good; run for it!

Mom, I want to go home!

Multitudes of demons scampered away, pissing and shitting themselves as they headed for the depths of the Demon Battlefield.

There lay the true stronghold of the Demon Clan, guarded by not just one but several Demon Marshals, which for them was the safest place on the planet!

But the majority of demons failed to notice that some among them, while running, suddenly collapsed to their knees and began vomiting uncontrollably.

Initially, their friends and relatives thought they were just scared senseless, and just as they urged them to get up, these demons began spewing blood in great gushes!

"Vomit—"

A stream of purple-red toxic blood first sprayed from their mouths, quickly followed by their noses, eyes, ears, and even their anuses—blood sprayed from everywhere uncontrollably!

Their companions could only watch in horror as these demons wailed in agony, dying a painful death, feeling the hair on their heads stand on end.

What’s going on, why are they dead just like that!?

But very soon, they too started to feel sharp pains in their stomachs. It felt as if the agony was sapping all their strength, and they couldn’t help but kneel down and begin vomiting blood violently...

It was as if the contagion was spreading; one after another, the escaping demons collapsed as they ran, weakening at the knees and vomiting blood once they hit the ground.

At first, just a few Demon Beasts were unlucky, but soon the affliction spread to their kindred groups, then to nearby species with similar habits, until it encompassed all groups!

Since Demon Beasts don’t all drink water at the same time—usually they go in groups, or with allied species so they could help each other in case a water dispute led to a fight—this habit now resulted in massive casualties among the Demon Clan!

The entire Demon Clan fell into sheer panic!

"The plague, it’s a plague! Run! Don’t stop!" (in the Demon Race Language)

Some frenzied demons started shouting angrily, urging their kind to stay away from those who had fallen, forbidding even touching their own kin!

Run, just keep running!

As the effects of the poison took hold, large swaths of Demon Beasts died en masse like a crashing wave or lay kneeling, paralyzed on the ground.

Only the physically strongest species like the Blade Rhino Demons endured to the end, fighting through the pain and the vomiting and diarrhea to keep running without stopping.

As they ran, they thanked their lucky stars, glancing back at the dead demons littering the ground behind them, grateful for their survival.

They had conquered the plague, they lived!

Surely, the Demon Clan was the strongest!

Even a plague couldn’t defeat them!

If it weren’t for the vomit still spurting from their mouths, and the other end still erupting, they would’ve cheered to celebrate their lucky escape!

However, they had not realized that the leader at the front had already slowly stopped in its tracks, its face blank as it stared ahead, its eyes filled with despair.

"Leader! Why have you stopped running!"

"Keep running, keep going..."

Some demons were forced to halt, urging their kin ahead of them to hurry with no small amount of complaint.

Only the demons at the very front were frozen in their steps, filled with despair.

Until more and more demons noticed the anomaly ahead, they all stopped in place, mouths agape, unsure of what to do.

A desperate wail echoed among the demons, "Demon Gods above! It’s over, we’re finished!"

"..."

Because what they saw before them was a gleaming forest of steel, composed of blades and spears—a human-made execution ground, fully armed to the teeth—the Demon Extermination Army!

Humans, personally cutting off their last path of escape!

...

On the other side, in less than five minutes, Chu Feng had completely fallen into a disadvantage!

The effect of the [Law of Heaven and Earth] was extremely powerful, truly a worthy bronze talent acquired only after raising his attribute points to 60 and his Physical Body Rank to [Jade Bone and Bronze Body]. It was indeed extraordinary, as it could increase his physical strength by at least tenfold during its active period!

This terrifying enhancement gave him a prowess that was virtually unbeatable among his peers. It was likely that no Everlasting Realm Warrior could withstand a single one of his punches now, much less when he could add the sharpness of his Fist Edge to every move he made!

But his enemy, Fire Spirit Demon Priest Feika, was even stronger than him at this juncture!

It possessed not only richer combat experience, more complex and wondrous offensive and defensive combat techniques and magic, but also an even more formidable physical foundation.

What was more critical was the enhancement in strength and both internal and external defense provided by the Demon Ancestor’s Power!

Chu Feng’s strength was great, but the quality of his True Force and the strength of his blows weren’t refined enough. He couldn’t penetrate the defense provided by the Demon Ancestor’s Power to attack Feika’s vulnerable insides; he could only cause some external injuries through methods such as vibration.

Therefore, he could only keep up his frenzied assault, constantly grinding down and countering the protection formed by the Demon Ancestor’s Power, hoping to deplete it completely.

Only when the Demon Ancestor’s Power was exhausted could his strength penetrate Feika’s body and directly attack its weak spots.

But Feika was entirely different!

Facing Chu Feng, who lacked the support of strength from the Hunyuan Realm or higher, every strike it made equated to terrifying actual damage!

Fist and foot combat was one thing.

As a typical "Artillery Mage," Feika’s strength, though bolstered by the Demon Ancestor’s Power and greater than Chu Feng’s, had quite ordinary fighting skills. Its punches and kicks landed on Chu Feng like tickling.

But its magic was far too terrifying; many spells had caused Chu Feng immense damage!

Spells of Metal, Wood, Water, Fire, Earth, Wind, and Thunder attributes rained down on Chu Feng, some forcibly breaking in from the outside, some exploding from the inside out.

For a moment, Chu Feng felt an alternating burning and freezing sensation in his organs, and external injuries kept appearing on his body, some wounds were so deep they reached the bone, revealing snowy white skeletons!

Even though he was desperately using his spiritual power to dispel the natural energies around him and negate Feika’s magic attacks, Chu Feng was but a beginner compared to Feika in the domain of spiritual power and magic—he was close to being utterly outmatched.

With the True Force consumed in eroding the Demon Ancestor’s Power, Chu Feng’s ’Vitality, Energy, and Spirit’ attributes were draining away like water, so rapidly that it was alarming!

He could only keep restoring the three major attributes by adding points, but this was akin to throwing attribute points into a bottomless pit, producing not even the slightest ripple!

Each time he bore Feika’s damage, his physique plummeted drastically. He had to forcibly boost it up with attribute points, otherwise, his [Law of Heaven and Earth] wouldn’t hold up!

Now, the 93 backup attribute points he had prepared were nearly all gone, dropping to a terrifying number—11 points!

Attribute points were going to be exhausted soon!!

Once the attribute points were entirely used up, at this rate, he could hold out for at most two more minutes before Feika would blow him apart on the spot!

...

Meanwhile, Li Dongjiang and Hong Ye, who were frantically recovering nearby, also broke out in cold sweat.

They could clearly see that the giant on their side had fallen into a disadvantage and was struggling increasingly hard, on the verge of defeat.

They wished to save the giant, but with less than five minutes given to them, there wasn’t enough time to restore their combat strength!

At this point, they estimated they only had half their fighting power available, completely unable to alleviate the situation!

The only good news was that the actions of their giant hadn’t been in vain—Feika’s Demon Ancestor’s Power was visibly running out.

If he could hold out another ten minutes or so, the Demon Ancestor’s Power would be exhausted.

But deep down, they were extremely worried—could he hold out that long?
