Chapter 402: Chapter 225 Demon Blood

Gu Sheng had already guessed that this was a unique tracking method used by the two, but at this moment, he didn’t have time to deal with it.

The Demon Suppression Golden Scroll and the Vajra Demon Suppression Bell were both on him. If he were really caught by the two, there was no doubt that he would face a brutal beating from both of them.

Both Lu Shu and Lin Tianhao’s methods were far beyond ordinary. Even though Gu Sheng was confident, he didn’t dare to say he could handle the two simultaneously.

Since he’d already been marked by Lin Tianhao’s golden powder, Gu Sheng decided not to hide anymore. He activated the Wind-Riding Boots and sped away at full power.

Lu Shu had also marked Gu Sheng, naturally holding the same thought as Lin Tianhao—to find Gu Sheng alone and seize the Demon Suppression Golden Scroll and Vajra Demon Suppression Bell. This intent from both of them inadvertently allowed Gu Sheng to escape swiftly.

Symbolically, the two gave chase for a short distance before stopping.

Watching Gu Sheng disappear into the distance, Lin Tianhao spread his hands and smiled wryly, "Gu Sheng’s methods are truly unexpected. Who would’ve thought both of us would fall into his hands? Ah, it’s fate, truly fate! Never mind, let’s head back and check if there are other valuable things left in the ruins."

Although Lu Shu knew Lin Tianhao’s true intentions, she didn’t expose him. After a small nod, the two returned to the ruins.

After Gu Sheng had taken the Demon Suppression Golden Scroll and Vajra Demon Suppression Bell, the minor clans immediately scattered, fearing reprisals from Lu Shu and Lin Tianhao later on.

At this time, only the members of the Governor Mansion, Thousand Poison Sect, Haoyang Sect, and Giant Sword Sect remained in the ruins of the Demon Suppression Sect.

When Kang Tai and Linghu Qingwan saw Lu Shu and Lin Tianhao return, they came forward to inquire about the situation.

However, Lu Shu and Lin Tianhao’s response was unexpected to them.

The two simply shook their heads, their expressions somewhat disappointed: "Gu Sheng has an artifact specifically for enhancing speed. He was too fast. The two of us couldn’t catch up in such a short time. Besides, the terrain here is peculiar, so we didn’t dare to pursue too deeply."

Their explanations were identical, even though there hadn’t been any prior discussion—this was the tacit understanding of old rivals.

The reason for this excuse was simple: both wanted to sever ties with the Thousand Poison Sect and Giant Sword Sect.

Now that the Demon Suppression Golden Scroll and Vajra Demon Suppression Bell were in Gu Sheng’s possession, whether they managed to take them back in the future was no longer the concern of the other two sects.

Such rare treasures as the Demon Suppression Golden Scroll and Vajra Demon Suppression Bell—if possible, neither of the two wanted to share them.

Kang Tai and Linghu Qingwan were also clever people and naturally understood the underlying meaning in Lu Shu and Lin Tianhao’s words.

After exchanging a few polite words, the parties dispersed to explore other parts of the Demon Suppression Sect.

The ruins of the Demon Suppression Sect covered a vast area, but much of it had been severely damaged. After searching through the remains, the people from the Governor Mansion, Haoyang Sect, Thousand Poison Sect, and Giant Sword Sect found nothing of value.

Disappointed, they left one by one.

After everyone had departed, Zhao Honglie, clad in a black robe, emerged from the ruins.

He approached the entrance, releasing numerous strands of black mist around it.

The black mist quickly enveloped the entrance. In less than a quarter of an hour, the entrance to the Demon Suppression Sect collapsed with a loud boom, and the lake in the Scarlet Cloud Secret Realm returned to its calm state.

Looking at the ruins of the Demon Suppression Sect, Zhao Honglie couldn’t help but burst into laughter. "Haha! Although some of the arrays still impose restraints, I can already feel the summoning of the Supreme Demon Blood!"

Zhao Honglie’s eyes grew increasingly fervent as he looked to the skies of the Demon Suppression Sect, letting out a guttural roar: "The Great Dark Era is upon us. Let me be its harbinger!"

After venting his emotions, Zhao Honglie removed the black robe draped over him.

By now, his appearance had undergone a grotesque transformation. He no longer resembled a human. His face and skin were covered in eerie black patterns. On closer inspection, the patterns seemed to possess life, flowing across his flesh. Moreover, four fleshy protrusions swelled on his back, surrounded by whirling black mist, as though they contained something sinister within.

Zhao Honglie approached Zhu Hong’s corpse. Stretching out an arm riddled with black veins, he grabbed the body and exerted tremendous force.

As Zhu Hong’s corpse disintegrated, dark, dense mist seeped from it. This mist hovered around Zhao Honglie, shrouding him in an aura of unfathomable darkness.

Like a beast, Zhao Honglie devoured Zhu Hong.

"Truly nourishing! With such effects, I can hardly wait any longer."

Laughing to himself, Zhao Honglie placed Zhu Hong’s head in front of him. He extended a finger, and with a buzzing sound, a slender, sharp spike emerged from its tip. Aiming at his heart, he plunged it in with a sickening squelch.

When he withdrew the spike, a single drop of pure black blood glistened on its tip.

Letting the blood drip onto Zhu Hong’s head, it quickly expanded, manifesting into a thin black membrane that encased it within moments.

After finishing, Zhao Honglie weaved a series of seals with his hands, his throat producing an eerie chant.

As each note left his lips, an inexplicable force radiated between heaven and earth. Zhu Hong’s head began to float like a balloon, the black membrane around it swelling larger and larger. From within, faint, bloodcurdling screams erupted.

A quarter of an hour later, the black membrane encasing Zhu Hong’s head had swelled to the size of a millstone. The screams inside grew sharper and more spine-chilling—it was unmistakably Zhu Hong’s voice!

Zhu Hong’s cries were filled with endless torment. The piercing shrieks carried a haunting echo, eerie and terrifying.
