Chapter 175: Chapter 107 X Armor_3
Ms. Wan smiled gently, not teasing Lingtong, and carefully installed the mechanical arm for him.
She was, after all, an old hand at this.
...
In the wilderness outside Fortress 82.
Daoist Wang looked at the armor components before him, his mind echoing with the warning, "An S-level Spiritual Ability User might appear at Fortress 82."
The pressure meter instantly maxed out.
Wang Jixuan had been somewhat dismissive before, casually fiddling with these components.
Now, he began to earnestly don the gear, conducting simple running and jumping exercises, rapidly mastering the basic use of the components with the help of the AI-assisted voice from the armor, feeling the actual degree of enhancement to his combat power.
In the supply vehicle, Instructor Hei, dozing off with his head tilted, showed a slight smile at the corner of his mouth.
’This guy is quite serious and ambitious, that’s really good.’
About two hours later.
Wang Jixuan removed the armor because its reserve power had exhausted. He needed to place each part into the metal boxes in order, connecting them to the battery compartment of the supply vehicle for recharging.
There was an ease about him characteristic of a Junior Mechanic.
As he was just finishing up, his Spiritual Sense detected two Big Mechanical Insects charging at him from the distant sand dunes.
The Mechanical Insects were three to four meters long, almost burrowing through the sand, each carrying a load on their backs. Instructor Hei actively ran over, grabbing two large metallic boxes and floated back, tossing them in front of Wang Jixuan.
"One box contains the armor’s main body, the other is components. From now on, logistics and maintenance are your own responsibility. Don’t mess it up, alright? This thing has a nuclear battery for power, and a wrong move could genuinely lead to an explosion."
"If you can use this suit proficiently, your combat power should be no less than that of a half-human Mecha after initial modifications."
Daoist Wang’s heart surged.
The first set of standard reinforced armor had already tremendously increased his current combat strength.
Wang Jixuan looked at the large [X] symbol on the metal box and moved to the front. The metal box popped open on its own, revealing a silver-white helmet visor.
The helmet design was a bit exaggerated, with two twisted, curved horns on top. The arc-shaped visor was made of a semi-transparent material, giving the impression of a silver-white Devil’s head at first glance.
’It would have been beautiful if it were a dragon head mask.’
"Uncle Hei! Can I use it now?"
"This is yours! In the next forty hours, you must become proficient with this new set of gear, and meanwhile, serve as a guinea pig for this unnamed armor and produce a combat report."
Instructor Hei chuckled:
"Put it on and give it a try."
"We’re about to move to a slightly more distant area, find a place to dig a hole for this supply vehicle to burrow into, so as to avoid visual detection by the garrison troops."
"Right on time, since this thing requires learning to operate starting with running, I’ll drive, and you’ll run alongside."
"No problem."
Wang Jixuan, smirking with a raised eyebrow, cradled the helmet to put it on. A slight sting behind his ear followed, after which he heard an electronic female voice reminder:
"Neural assistance chip connected."
"Please don all the gear and proceed with a body function check and gene binding."
Wang Jixuan touched behind his ear, and the silver-white visor became transparent automatically, leaving his vision unobstructed.
He closed his eyes, took a slightly deep breath, and the viewpoint of the whole scene rotated behind his head for a full circle, slowly returning to his eyes. The novelty and excitement in his eyes gave way to calmness and serenity. The silver-white armor fitted close to the body, reflecting the sunlight’s glow.
Thirty-nine hours later, Fortress 82 was close at hand.
Mission type: Infiltration, Investigation, Assassination.
Ready to strike!
Accompanied by a faint engine noise, Wang Jixuan crouched down lightly.
