Chapter 523: Chapter 523: To Nima’s God
Lan Jiaojiao paused for a moment, instinctively sitting up straight, as any news about Qin Yi could tug at her heartstrings.
Yin Qingyi also froze for a moment, then chuckled, "Even the medicine gatherers entering the mountain are talking about it. It seems this amazing guy definitely did something remarkable."
Lan Jiaojiao had a gentle smile on her lips; no matter what astonishing feat Qin Yi accomplished, she would not be surprised. In her heart, Qin Yi was a miracle to begin with.
"Could Qin Yi have bedded Yun Mengyao?" Yin Qingyi added.
Lan Jiaojiao’s pretty face immediately fell, her smile bitter.
Yin Chen’s face showed no hint of a smile; he always wore a grim expression, so the two women didn’t notice anything unusual. In truth, Yin Chen was deep in thought, debating whether or not to tell Lan Jiaojiao about this.
"Brother Yin, what did you hear them discussing about Qin Yi?" Lan Jiaojiao asked with a smile.
Yin Chen looked at Lan Jiaojiao, exhaling slightly. Lan Jiaojiao had the right to know about this, and he decided to tell her. After a moment of silence, Yin Chen spoke awkwardly, "They said Qin Yi is dead."
Poof!
Yin Qingyi spat out the meat in her mouth.
Lan Jiaojiao’s fingertips trembled violently, unable to hold the meat in her hand, which fell to the ground.
"Brother, is this a cold joke? It’s really chilly." Yin Qingyi rolled her eyes dramatically. Her brother was indeed a wooden block, "Qin Yi is such a formidable guy. It’s good enough if he doesn’t kill others; who could kill him? Even Yun Mengyao is no match for him."
Yin Chen pursed his lips and said stiffly, "That’s what those medicine gatherers said. Qin Yi fell a month ago at the Shi Family in Tianlin City. It seems he wiped out the Shi Family and then defeated Murong Qianxun, a disciple of the Vermilion Bird Guardian God. Later, when the Vermilion Bird arrived, it accidentally killed Qin Yi."
Lan Jiaojiao’s pretty face turned deathly pale, buzzing in her mind, as her delicate figure trembled. The red mark on her brow appeared even more sinister.
"Jiaojiao, calm down. Maybe those medicine gatherers were just talking nonsense."
Yin Qingyi held Lan Jiaojiao’s trembling jade hand to comfort her.
Lan Jiaojiao’s gaze was somewhat dazed as she looked at Yin Chen, "Where are those medicine gatherers?"
"I’ll take you to them." Yin Chen had already anticipated that Lan Jiaojiao would seek out those medicine gatherers to verify the truth of the matter.

At the foot of a large mountain, several Qi Refiners with bamboo baskets on their backs were chatting idly. They were disciples from nearby sects with weak cultivation, normally engaged in miscellaneous tasks like gathering herbs.
Suddenly, a sharp whistling sound cut through the air.
The group felt a blur before their eyes as three figures appeared before them.
The man was handsome, and the women were beautiful. Especially these two women, one was enchanting like a demon, the other holy and stunning.
However, as Qi Refiners themselves, they could naturally sense the terrifying aura emanating from these three, causing some panic among them.
"Let me ask you, did Qin Yi really..." The last words stuck in Lan Jiaojiao’s throat, unwilling to be spoken, for she was afraid.
Yin Qingyi took over, "Earlier, you said Qin Yi died. Is this truly the case?"
The young Qi Refiners, taken aback, hurriedly nodded.
Lan Jiaojiao felt dizzy, her body swaying slightly.
Yin Qingyi, with a divine hand, held her steady, full of concern.
"If any of you are lying, I’ll kill you." Lan Jiaojiao’s words were icy and cold, her presence filled with killing intent, causing the medicine gatherers to shiver all over.
"We dare not. We’re not lying. This matter has spread throughout the circle, everyone knows Qin Yi perished a month ago in Tianlin City."
Lan Jiaojiao’s pretty face was ashen as she sternly asked, "Tell me, was it the Vermilion Bird who killed Qin Yi?"
"We don’t know about that. But widely, it’s said that Qin Yi’s death is related to the Vermilion Bird Guardian God."
The mark on Lan Jiaojiao’s brow grew even more sinister, cold light flickering in her eyes. Her figure flashed as she dashed towards the outside of the mountain.
"Jiaojiao, where are you going?" Yin Qingyi shouted.
"Don’t follow me," Lan Jiaojiao’s words echoed in the distance.
Yin Qingyi paused, "Could she be going to find the Vermilion Bird?"
Yin Chen said gravely, "I’m afraid so."
"Then why are we just standing here? Although Jiaojiao’s cultivation has advanced rapidly, compared to the Vermilion Bird, it’s nothing. Hurry, stop her."
"She can’t be stopped; no one can stop her now."
Yin Qingyi became anxious, "But we can’t just watch her go to her death."
"Then we’ll die together." Yin Chen’s figure flashed as he chased after her.
Yin Qingyi paused briefly, cursing him as a fool. Her intent was to find a way to stop Lan Jiaojiao, knock her out, or tie her up, anything.
...
...
The Vermilion Bird Mountain, located on the edge of a thousand-mile southern forest, has a pleasant climate, lush vegetation, and stands several hundred meters tall, exuding a majestic aura.
For dozens of miles around Vermilion Bird Mountain, no one dares to come near.
This is a divine place revered by the world, where the Vermilion Bird resides.
However, in the wilderness leading to Vermilion Bird Mountain, a figure walked silently, carrying a large case on their back, a long ponytail swaying gently, the white jade flowers on it sparkling in the sunlight.
Earlier, there was a rugged mountain path, so she abandoned her vehicle and proceeded on foot. Even if the road ahead was treacherous, it couldn’t stop her.
Duan Yiyi’s beautiful face was slightly sunburnt, her full red lips cracked and peeling.
With her cultivation, it can be said that she is immune to cold and heat, and such conditions shouldn’t appear. But she was unwilling to waste any cultivation; if consumed, she wouldn’t have time to restore it upon reaching Vermilion Bird Mountain.
Her eyes, usually sparkling with mischief like stars, now only held killing intent.
She took out a water bottle, drank a few sips, and moistened her throat.
Two hours later, she finally saw the Vermilion Bird Mountain where the legend says gods reside.
In the past, she would have been excited, thrilled to see the legendary Divine Mountain, possibly even solemnly worship it.
But now...to hell with the Divine Mountain, to hell with the gods.
Tightly strapping the weapon-laden case to her back, she resolutely moved forward.
A proverb, "Riding towards the mountain will kill your horse," aptly described it.
It took her another two hours to reach the foot of Vermilion Bird Mountain.
Duan Yiyi stood for a long time at the base of the mountain, looking up at the magnificent peak, suddenly spitting with disdain.
Once, the god and the Divine Mountain she respected and longed for made her feel nothing but disgust now.
She set the case down, took out the golden long blade inside, connected it, and resolutely headed up the mountain, carrying the large blade.
"Who goes there? Do you know where this is? Leave at once."
Suddenly, two middle-aged men in red robes, wielding sharp swords and looking arrogant, emerged from the dense forest on the mountain, looking down at Duan Yiyi condescendingly.
Duan Yiyi said nothing, her steps unheeding, advancing one step at a time.
The two middle-aged men exchanged glances, a hint of surprise flashing in their eyes.
"This is Vermilion Bird Mountain, residence of the Vermilion Bird Guardian God. No unauthorized people are allowed to trespass, or they’ll be killed without mercy."
