Chapter 517: Chapter 517: Snatching

Qin Yi’s lips curled into a cold smile. Though your words sound nice, they can’t hide the cold blood of you, the Vermilion Bird.

Even as a Guardian God, you have no right to decide the life and death of others.

But, given the number of battles the Vermilion Bird has experienced, some cold-bloodedness is understandable. Without hatred, she wouldn’t have reached her current position and cultivation. Every successful person stands atop a pile of bones, don’t they?

Of course, Qin Yi felt a bit comforted in his heart, because this way, the destruction of the Shi Family was entirely due to the Vermilion Bird. It was her indulgence that allowed the Shi Family to become a scourge, leading to their eventual annihilation by him. Ultimately, the culprit was still the Vermilion Bird.

The Vermilion Bird looked at Qin Yi and smiled, "Considering we are old acquaintances, could you...?"

"You want me to give the Phoenix Gall to Murong Qianxun?" Qin Yi asked with a smile.

The Vermilion Bird nodded slightly, "I had always meant for Qianxun to have the Phoenix Gall. Before, her cultivation wasn’t sufficient; recklessly refining the Phoenix Gall could have caused problems. Now that she’s at the Nascent Soul Stage, she can fully withstand the power of the Phoenix Gall."

"No problem!" Qin Yi agreed cheerfully.

The Vermilion Bird was taken aback. Knowing Qin Yi, he’s not the type to easily agree to anything. She expected some form of price, but Qin Yi agreed so readily that it seemed almost unreal to her.

Murong Qianxun squinted slightly, having just fought Qin Yi, she knew his nature well enough that his easy agreement was absolutely suspicious.

"Aren’t you going to make any demands?" the Vermilion Bird asked, feeling uneasy that Qin Yi hadn’t made any demands.

Qin Yi grinned brightly, "I was thinking about it, but I was too shy to ask. However, since the senior brought it up, it would be disrespectful not to."

The corners of the Vermilion Bird’s mouth twitched slightly, "Feel free to state any conditions; I’ll try my best to meet them."

"It’s not too difficult," Qin Yi said, pointing at Murong Qianxun, "Have her perform a strip dance for me, and I’ll hand over the Phoenix Gall immediately."

The Vermilion Bird was stunned on the spot, not expecting Qin Yi to make such a condition.

Murong Qianxun’s pretty face was filled with anger as she glared at Qin Yi.

"Old Azure Dragon, what brings you here?" Qin Yi suddenly looked past the Vermilion Bird, feigning surprise.

The Vermilion Bird and Murong Qianxun were startled, instinctively turning to look behind, only to find no one there, their expressions immediately changed, quickly turning back around.

"Qin Yi, don’t..." the Vermilion Bird exclaimed.

Taking advantage of the moment they turned their heads, Qin Yi reached for the Phoenix Gall. Such an exceptional treasure, how could he let it slip away?

"Ah..."

But when his fingers touched the Phoenix Gall, his entire hand was immediately ignited, almost roasted by the terrifying power of the Phoenix flames, causing him to let out a cry of pain.

The Vermilion Bird felt relieved when Qin Yi failed to seize the Phoenix Gall.

Murong Qianxun, on the other hand, thought to herself, serves you right.

"Qin Yi, the Phoenix Gall isn’t something you can just take," the Vermilion Bird said with a hint of mockery in her voice.

"Is that so?" Qin Yi sneered, suddenly surrounding his entire hand in Purple Flames, then boldly grabbing the Phoenix Gall again.

The Vermilion Bird and Murong Qianxun were shocked as Qin Yi easily held the Phoenix Gall in his hand.

Qin Yi was equally astonished, for he had enveloped his hand with Chaotic Purple Flames to grasp the Phoenix Gall, and yet the Purple Flames and the scarlet flames on the Phoenix Gall began to merge, like long-lost lovers.

Could the flames on the Phoenix also be Chaotic Purple Flames?

The Chaotic Purple Flames are the ancestor of all flames, and the Phoenix is a divine bird born in the era of Chaos, so Qin Yi thought his guess might indeed be true.

Qin Yi inspected the Phoenix Gall in his hand, his face full of joy. Although refining the Phoenix Gall might not guarantee the Phoenix tribe’s heritage, it could undoubtedly advance his cultivation by leaps and bounds.

"Qin Yi, the Phoenix Gall won’t be of much use to you; I can compensate you with something else. How about you give the Phoenix Gall back to Qianxun?"

Qin Yi smirked, "Senior Vermilion Bird, the Phoenix Gall is a treasure of heaven and earth; if I give it to Murong Qianxun, what could you possibly offer in return?"

"I could have Qianxun follow you, fight with you all over, and protect the people."

Qin Yi snorted, "Senior Vermilion Bird, are you taking me for a fool? As your successor, protecting the people is her duty. What you said offers me no benefit at all, try again."

The Vermilion Bird was annoyed, "If you give the Phoenix Gall to Qianxun, I will have her marry you. You are the Azure Dragon’s successor, Qianxun is mine, your union would be a match made in heaven, and with the Phoenix Gall given to Qianxun, you’d be at no loss."

Qin Yi nearly choked on his own saliva.

Murong Qianxun’s face was equally full of shock.

"Master..."

The Vermilion Bird silenced her with a look, knowing that even if she disagreed, she had to wait until the Phoenix Gall was in their hands.

The corners of Qin Yi’s mouth twitched, "Senior Vermilion Bird, even if I give the Phoenix Gall to you, you shouldn’t repay kindness with enmity, right? What part of this woman is worthy of me? She lacks both bust and backside, her figure is like a lollipop."

"I have a wife, and she’s a million times better than her. She’s pregnant with twins, and I’m about to be a father. I’d have to be out of my mind to swap a great thing for a trifle."

Murong Qianxun’s delicate face turned icy, her chest heaving with anger.

The Vermilion Bird’s face also darkened. Her most cherished disciple being rejected like this made her, as a master, unable to feel pleased.

"You little bastard, are you a Poison Snake? Spouting venom with every word."

Qin Yi shrugged, "If Senior Vermilion Bird doesn’t like hearing me talk, I’ll just disappear from your sight, goodbye!"

"Stop right there!" The Vermilion Bird narrowed her eyes slightly, looking at Qin Yi with a half-smiling expression, "Qin Yi, I just want to ask, will you hand over the Phoenix Gall or not?"

Qin Yi’s eyes were cautious, "What, are you planning to kill and steal if I don’t?"

"Not kill, but definitely steal, as the Phoenix Gall is immensely useful to Qianxun."

Qin Yi grinned, haven’t we all known that the Phoenix Gall is a treasure of heaven and earth, useful to anyone?

"Wouldn’t Senior Vermilion Bird fear tarnishing your reputation if word got out that you, a senior, stole from a junior like me?"

The Vermilion Bird sneered, "You can stop trying to put me on a pedestal; that trick doesn’t work on me. If you don’t hand it over, I’ll have no choice but to take it. Even if the Azure Dragon knows, he’d likely understand."

Qin Yi felt a twinge of concern; he had just tried to put the Phoenix Gall in his storage ring, but no matter how much he tried, he failed, likely because even the storage ring couldn’t withstand the power of the scarlet flames from the Phoenix Gall.

With the Phoenix Gall in hand and given the Vermilion Bird’s unfathomable cultivation, it would be hard for him to keep it safe.

Suddenly, Qin Yi’s face changed, a fiery thread silently appeared, wrapping itself around the Phoenix Gall in his hand with incredible speed.
