"See for yourself. Lin Group issued an official statement about your dismissal," the officer said coldly.

"Also, we retrieved the CCTV footage from the Starlight Hotel. Evidence of your assault on both a man and your wife has been submitted. You will stay here and await your trial."

Before leaving, the officer added, "You had better hope nothing happens to your wife, or you will be facing a murder charge on top of intentional assault."

As soon as he heard this, Lin Hao staggered back, muttering in disbelief, "Impossible. This can’t be true. My father won’t let anything happen to me–this is a lie."

Due to the shocking news, he no longer caused a ruckus and remained silent in the cell.

Half an hour before midnight, several news outlets posted similar shocking reports about Yan Lingling’s intimate photos. The striking headlines immediately caught the public’s attention, pushing the headline into hot search’s top rank.

At first, people assumed the photos being published were spicy pictures of Yan Lingling and Lin Hao.

Although neither of them belonged to the entertainment industry, one was the CEO of the Lin Group, and the other was the daughter of a wealthy family. People most like to read about scandals of wealthy families.

Because Yan Lingling frequently shared her daily life online, her social media account had millions of followers, rivaling that of a popular starlet. Therefore, this scandal, even though it was already midnight, still caused an uproar.

Since the news broke close to midnight, the Public Relations departments of the Lin Group and the Yan Corporation missed the golden window to control the situation. By the time the Lin family became aware of the matter, the news had already topped the trending charts and cannot be taken down.

At the Lin family estate, Chairman Lin smashed yet another glass in anger. Over the past few days, his temper had led to the destruction of many items. He felt his blood pressure surging due to anger, leaving him dizzy and unwell, even with medication.

Hearing the sound of shattering glass, Madam Lin hurried into the study room. Upon opening the door, she noticed the broken glass scattered on the floor and asked, "Husband, what’s wrong? Why are you so angry?"

The moment Chairman Lin heard her voice, he closed his eyes in frustration and shouted, "Go ask your precious son what he has done!"

Madam Lin frowned when she heard her husband’s words and asked, "What did Ah Hao do this time to upset you?"

Madam Lin was shocked and quickly checked her phone. The moment she saw the photos, her face darkened.

"That woman! How dare she shame my son like this!" she exclaimed furiously.

"I’m going to teach her a lesson!" she added while walking to the door.

Seeing his wife leaving, Chairman Lin snapped before she could leave the room, "You think our family hasn’t lost enough face already?!"

Madam Lin turned around and glared at him but paused when a new article from a marketing account appeared. Feeling curious, she clicked on it. As she read the headline, her face turned pale with shock.

Noticing her reaction, Chairman Lin frowned and asked, "What’s wrong now?"

Struggling to find her voice, Madam Lin stammered, "H-Husband, Ah Hao has been detained by the police... for assaulting his wife."

"What?!" Chairman Lin exclaimed, shooting to his feet.

The sudden rush of anger made him dizzy, and sharp chest pain followed. His vision blurred as he reached out for his wife, but before he could say a word, he collapsed to the ground with a loud thud.

"Husband!" Madam Lin cried out in panic.

She rushed to his side, patting his cheeks while shouting, "Husband, what’s wrong with you? Wake up! Open your eyes!"

When he remained unresponsive, she screamed for help, "Someone, come quickly!!"

Hearing her shouts, the servants rushed in panic.

"Madam, what happened?" one of them asked.

"Call an ambulance immediately!" she ordered anxiously with a trembling voice.

Nothing should happen to her husband. After her son was imprisoned, the only person who could save him was her husband. If something happened to him, she couldn’t imagine what would happen to her son and the company.

While one servant frantically called for an ambulance, the others carefully carried Chairman Lin downstairs. Madam Lin quickly went to her room to take her bag and phone before she followed her husband.

Meanwhile, in another part of the city, Feng Zhexuan was enjoying breakfast while reading the news in high spirits.

When Yan Yuling emerged from their bedroom, she noticed her husband’s smile and asked, "Good morning, Husband. What’s got you in such a good mood?"

Feng Zhexuan raised his head from his phone when he heard his wife’s voice, walked over, and kissed her.

"Good morning, wife. If all goes according to plan, you will have your mother’s company in your hands within two months," he said with a smile.

Surprised by her husband’s words, Yan Yuling looked at him and asked, "What happened?"

Feng Zhexuan pulled his wife into the dining table and let her sit on his lap before he explained, "Lin Hao has been detained for assaulting Yan Lingling and has been removed as CEO of Lin Group. As a result, Lin Group’s stock is plummeting, which makes it easier for us to acquire the company."

"But Lin Group is one of the top ten companies in Liaoning. Acquiring it won’t be easy, right?" Yan Yuling asked with doubt.
