Chapter 1614: Chapter 1614: She’s Going to the Set
After Olivia Lewis got in the car, she called Enna Clark.
The call went through, but Enna’s phone was turned off.
Guessing that Enna was still busy, she pondered for a moment and then sent a text message instead.
Then she turned to Sunny beside her and said, "I’ll probably only be able to meet my friend in the evening, so I might as well go to the film set after putting my luggage away at the hotel. Anyway, I brought back some local specialty tea for Director Trent."
"You want to go to the film set?" Sunny’s response was odd.
"What’s the matter with the set? Isn’t there any filming today?"
"It’s not that there’s no filming..." Sunny didn’t know how to explain, hesitating for a moment, and said haltingly, "Aren’t you resuming work tomorrow? You can give the tea to Director Trent then; there’s no need to make an extra trip today."
Olivia thought something was wrong, but when she heard the reason, she comfortably leaned back in her seat and said casually, "I don’t have anything to do at the hotel anyway. I’d rather go to the set and take a look, get into the mood for tomorrow, rather than lazing around doing nothing."
When it came to acting, Olivia was always very dedicated.
She just didn’t like attending social events such as dinners.
Worry crossed Sunny’s face, but, for some reason, she couldn’t let Olivia see through it and continued persuading, "You should take a rest. You just got off the plane. If you don’t rest well today, you won’t be able to get into the swing of things tomorrow."
"And, you have to meet friends later tonight, right?"
"I can schedule that a bit later. Okay, it’s decided—I’ll drop off my stuff at the hotel and then go to the set to give the gift to Director Trent. Don’t worry, as soon as I deliver it, I’ll come back and rest well today. I’ll get into the right state of mind for tomorrow and won’t embarrass my gorgeous manager." She raised her hands in a playful surrender gesture, then tilted her head and joked, "Unless you think there’s some monster at the set waiting to bite me?"
"...No."
Olivia clapped her hands, "Then it’s settled. Happily decided."
Sunny wanted to dissuade her, but seeing how relaxed she looked, she couldn’t bring herself to say more.
Her face was full of concern, but she swallowed her words in the end.
Forget it, Olivia would have to face such things sooner or later. It was better for her to encounter it now and be mentally prepared for the future.
Isn’t that just the way the entertainment industry works?
Olivia wasn’t new to the entertainment industry; Sunny believed in her resilience.
...
After putting her suitcase away, Olivia left the hotel.
Since she wasn’t filming or giving interviews, she didn’t put on any makeup and dressed casually as she walked to the film set.
The hotel she stayed at was arranged by the production team and was only a short walk from the set.
She took the souvenirs she had brought back from the island and walked happily towards the set.
Sure enough, filming was in progress on the set.
Various staff were bustling around, looking busy.
A makeup artist spotted her, greeting her with a strange expression, "Sister Olivia, why are you back?"
"Came back early. Here, I brought this for you, it’s an eyebrow pencil from that place. See if you find it useful." She fished a small gift out of her pocket and handed it over.
The makeup artist received the gift in surprise, her face softening. With a thank you, she hesitated and said, "Sister Olivia, you don’t have any scenes today, why are you here at the set?"
"Brought gifts for you all so I could distribute them now and not forget tomorrow when work starts." Olivia was very down-to-earth, smiling as she asked, "Where’s Director Trent? Is he filming?"
