Chapter 1593: Chapter 1592: Say She’s like a Snail
Enna Clark had guessed he would refuse and felt a bit of a headache coming on.
She really couldn’t afford to play anymore, one more round and she was certain she’d throw up.
But today, she was here to help him relax and take his mind off Skye Lawrence and the company’s matters.
If she didn’t play and Baron Lawrence didn’t either, then she...
Enna Clark felt dizzy and her legs cramped up just thinking about playing one more time.
She had just stood up with her orange juice, about to say ’let’s go line up’, when the man beside her pulled her over and pointed ahead, "Enna Clark, which one do you like?"
She looked and realized he was referring to the stuffed animals inside the claw machine next to the chairs, and she was momentarily startled.
Before she could respond, Baron had already pointed at the snail in the middle and said, "This one is good, it looks like you."
Enna looked at the silly pink snail in the glass display and her mouth twitched. She couldn’t help but retort, "How does it look like me?"
Even if she was ugly, she surely didn’t resemble... a snail, right?
Besides, it was a pink one, an exaggerated cartoon snail!
But Baron Lawrence seemed pretty certain, completely ignoring her, his gaze fixed on the snail inside the claw machine, as he said, "Slow and squishy, how is it not like you?"
When had she ever been slow and squishy?!
"It’s decided, you’re getting this one!" Baron Lawrence had made up his mind about the snail, gestured grandly, and changed his bills for coins, dumping all the money into the machine.
Enna Clark hadn’t been paying attention and watched, wide-eyed, as he fed tens of dollars into the machine, her temples throbbing, and she couldn’t help but say, "Baron Lawrence, don’t you think you’ve put in too many coins?"
"Too many?" To him, tens of dollars were no different from a few dollars, he had just casually pulled out a few bills and thrown them all in.
Enna was certain as she informed him, "Yes, too many! Usually, a few dollars are enough to grab a stuffed animal."
"Then I’ll grab a couple more!"
So overbearing.
The coins he chucked in all at once drew a crowd of onlookers nearby.
Baron Lawrence frowned; he disliked crowded places and being watched even more, but he surprisingly didn’t lose his temper. He pressed down on the claw machine’s lever and started playing.
His target was very clear: the snail inside the claw machine!
And he went straight for it.
He missed the first time.
He missed the second time.
The third time, the fourth time, all were misses...
He did catch something on the fifth try, but it might as well have been a miss. Because it fell midway, getting stuck between a teddy bear and a dolphin.
Enna Clark watched his frown deepen and pulled on his arm, "Let it go, Baron Lawrence, if you can’t grab it, it’s fine. I don’t really like it that much either."
"I must get you out!" the intensely focused man had no intention of stopping, and he declared through clenched teeth with determination.
I must get ’you’ out... In an instant, Enna Clark had the urge to yank his arm.
...
An hour and a half later, she had finished her orange juice, her stomach felt much better, and she was already sitting in the chair, bored and playing with her phone. Piled beside her were a dozen fluffy stuffed animals, rabbits, tigers, dolphins... she nearly had a complete zoo.
Finally.
The man obsessed with the claw machine finally stopped, "Got it!"
She turned her head and saw the handsome man bending over to pick up the exaggerated snail that he had been fixated on from the start, joyfully telling the onlookers, "The rest of the coins are for you."
After saying that, he walked towards Enna Clark.
Completely disregarding the astonished stares from behind—
