Chapter 67: Picking Thy Match

Helda immediately shifted her focus back to the female visor who had come to report the situation. "Come with me," she commanded, her voice carrying this authority. With Helda’s lab coat pulled away, she revealed an elegant black Victorian-style dress beneath, complete with ruffled sleeves and intricate lace details. Ornate purple gem earrings caught the light as she moved away from where she stood.

They both strode quickly toward the elevator doors, and Helda pressed the call button, causing the doors to slide open with a soft chime. Once inside, she immediately pressed ’6’, the rooftop floor, the moment her feet crossed the threshold.

Outside the facility, Zebelon had stepped from the building’s entrance, with his attention immediately drawn to two figures floating in the sky above. It was evident enough that they were the ones that made powerful magical energy surge earlier, creating ripples in the air that that was pretty hard to ignore.

Without hesitation, he launched himself several meters into the air to confront these intruders. "You know, it’s a lack of manners to barge into Quillforte family property without invitation," Zebelon began as he arrived before Liam and Nacht, his tone carrying the casual arrogance of a demigod."State your business."

Nacht stretched forth his already drawn katana, pointing it directly at Zebelon’s chest. "After today, Quillforte will lose every right to this place," he declared, his voice sharp with anger and barely contained animosity toward the blonde-haired man before him.

Zebelon chuckled slightly, but then his eyes narrowed as recognition dawned on him. "Nyron?... Nacht Nyron?" His chuckled slightly and added, "So what is this? You get banished from the family and you come to wage war on mine? Isn’t that pathetic?"

Nacht said nothing, maintaining his furious gaze while Liam, visibly shocked by this revelation though careful not to show it, briefly turned his head toward his President before refocusing on the enemy before them.

...

At ground level, Quinn and her team had already blasted through the facility’s outer walls, and armed guards stationed at various corners of the compound frantically opened fire on the intruders, but their efforts proved futile against these powerful visors.

The moment bullets began flying, the visors dispersed instantly, with their superhuman speeds easily surpassing the spray of gunfire. Before the guards could even blink, each fell unconscious one by one, as Quinn blitzed past most of them, striking the back of their heads with the hilt of her axe. All they saw was a black shadow moving past their vision before getting knocked out.

The other visors employed similar tactics, dodging subsequent gunfire with fluid motion while simultaneously reaching and incapacitating nearby security personnel within striking distance. In a matter of minutes, the team of visors had neutralized the armed resistance

From above, Zebelon noticed the intrusion and the swift defeat of their security forces. Only then did he fully understand that this was an attempted takedown of their entire facility.

"Worry about those standing in front of you," Nacht warned when he noticed Zebelon’s attention drifting downward, and at that moment, Zebelon’s magical energy began surging upward—if they were here to destroy everything they had worked on, he wasn’t going to simply stand there and watch.

Nacht immediately turned toward Liam, gesturing with a subtle nod toward the team below. "Go. Help them or find the other Quillforte. I’ve got this one."

Liam nodded once and instantly vanished in a single lightning streak that resembled teleportation, leaving Nacht to face Zebelon in single combat. Nacht prepared for their showdown as his own magical energy began spiking, making the overcoat hanging on his shoulders flare dramatically.

...

The elevator reached the rooftop floor and opened to reveal Helda and the other S-tier visor, Gianna, stepping out to observe the unfolding chaos. Helda’s first sight was their security forces being easily overwhelmed by a team of visors who continued their rapid approach toward the main building.

Gianna immediately spoke into her communication device. "Are you on guard? We have intruders nearing the entrance." Her voice transmitted to another comm device, carried by a tall, slightly pale-skinned man who listened and replied, "Yes, they are currently heading toward me." His device went silent as he assumed a combat stance, watching four visors sprint in his direction. This man was Felix, the other S-tier visor in Quillforte’s employ.

Gianna, the dark-skinned woman, turned toward Helda, who was still observing the situation above as she sensed her brother’s magical energy building for what appeared to be an imminent battle. "What are your orders, ma’am?" Gianna asked, eager to join the fight.

With a voice carrying a solid tint of fury, Helda commanded, "Kill every last one of them." Gianna immediately vanished from sight, landing directly in front of the approaching visors. The impact of her feet against the ground caused a shockwave that forced them all to brace backward, and as the dust cleared, it revealed Gianna with a spear drawn and Felix approaching steadily at her side.

Quinn and Jin exchanged glances and nodded, knowing their moment had arrived—it was time to face the S-tier visors as planned. Both their magical energies began rising, giving Gianna and Felix a clear indication of the caliber of battle they were about to engage in.

Quinn then briefly tilted her head toward Amira and Kevin. "Go!" she commanded, and both disappeared from sight in a blur of motion. Though Gianna and Felix wanted to pursue them, the presence of fellow S-tier opponents directly before them demanded their full attention, as turning away could prove fatal.

...

At the sound of lightning, Liam appeared before Helda on the rooftop, hovering slightly above ground level. She was the only other person in the immediate area, aside from the combatants preparing to clash above, who possessed enormous magical power, so this had to be Helda. His face remained expressionless, but fury burned in his eyes as he prepared for battle.

Helda, unmoved by his sudden appearance, slowly raised her head to meet his gaze. Her previously annoyed expression transformed into something rather playful as she placed her fingers over her mouth and murmured, "My, my, my..."
