Chapter 450: Chapter 97: The Truth Sniper (Long Chapter, Request for Monthly Pass!)

This is all the memory, most of which are chaotic impacts.

The amount of useful information...is really too little.

Gu Shen glanced at the unconscious man.

"Trident silver foil..."

He searched the man, flipping out a silver foil pinned on the inside of his collar without directly touching it... If it truly was an emblem of the church, it was very likely that something akin to spiritual power was harbored within this silver foil.

Otherwise, how could such a common Believer be allowed out alone?

With the Truth Ruler, Gu Shen pinched the silver foil out of thin air.

He scrutinized it but couldn’t discern any clues, then turned his gaze toward the scattered bag... It seemed to have been waterproofed, filled with liquid yet without any leakage, and it was still warm with a faint mist rising from the opening, suggesting from its bulging contour that it was filled with round spherical objects.

Women, elderly, and even more tender...

Gu Shen fell silent for a second after opening it.

His two fingers came together in a swift motion.

A line of blood splashed out.

The head of the Priest was flung into the air, landing on the snowfield, and was promptly ignited by Chi Huo, the face frozen in confusion even in death.

"I understand your anger," Chu Ling said softly, "but killing him...was not the wisest choice."

Hypnosis, memory erasure, then waiting, perhaps was the most secure method.

But Gu Shen did not choose so.

"Actually, it’s not just anger," Gu Shen said slowly, "There are some other emotions too, but aside from these, there is one very important reason..."

"There are multiple solutions to all problems in the world, sometimes the most efficient solution is not necessarily the optimal one."

Gu Shen responded calmly, and at the same time, snapped his fingers again, the bag filled with "spheres" ignited, its fires and smoke obscured by the glow of the Truth Ruler, refracting into the bleak winds and snow.

"This person was probably only sent out to deal with ’filth’."

Gu Shen raised his head, speaking expressionlessly, "An organization that contains both Transcendents and ordinary people, would they really care about an ordinary life? I don’t think so, to take the ’Lamp of Sorrow,’ direct contact is inevitable. If it were not because the item has yet to be in hand, I would currently be considering how to blow up the entire Snowfield mountain, sending those people inside to hell."

Or perhaps, they were already Devils to begin with.

"I should have a way to decipher that code door... It just needs a network interaction contact, they always have to use Deep Sea as an information medium. If I’m not mistaken, it only takes a tiny piece of silver foil to allow me to understand the whole situation inside the ’base’."

Gu Shen nodded his head.

With the Truth Ruler, he conjured a great Wind Snow, masking the "surveillance" in front of the door.

He then took the silver foil and, with it levitating by spiritual power, reached the location of the coded door, indeed finding a card insertion slot.

The silver foil was inserted.

Chu Ling’s link began to spread—

As they waited, Gu Shen leaned against the rock, speaking softly, "Your method won’t work, I have my own way..."

Before the words even settled,

There was a "beep".

The coded door had already opened.

Gu Shen looked slightly intrigued.

"You seem very confident," Chu Ling laughed, speaking, "Let me guess your method, is it melting with the high heat of ’Chi Huo,’ or launching a frontal attack with the ’Iron Throne’?"

"You’re too fast," Gu Shen muttered, changing into the Southern Continent’s large cloak of the Priest. Before entering the door, he instinctively bowed his head, not daring to look directly at the camera above the door.

"Relax, everything that needed to be shielded has already been shielded. These Southern Continent Priests are not very vigilant."

Chu Ling said quietly, "The entire underground base of the mountain is large, here’s the three-dimensional model map."

A three-dimensional map appeared in front of the retina.

Beyond that... there were familiar red dots.

"There are a total of 46 Transcendents. All marked in red."

"279 ordinary people, marked with yellow dots."

"1 third-stage Transcendent with the strength estimated to have reached the seventh layer of the deep water area, 11 Second-Stage Transcendents, 34 First-Stage Transcendents... all these are members of the Late Bell Church."

"The Late Bell Church?"

"This information comes from the database within the base, which hasn’t been synchronized with the central database... The personnel list and base layout you just saw were found in an independent database," Chu Ling stated, "By the way, there are many churches in Southern Continent, and solely searching by the name ’Late Bell’ yields no useful information."

Gu Shen pondered, "Southern Continent... Late Bell Church..."

He said softly, "Help me look up a case..."

...

...

"These ordinary people, they have a shared living space."

Upon a closer look at the map, Gu Shen found a dense cluster of yellow dots all gathered in one area.

He adjusted the large black cloak to obscure his cheeks and then silently made his way toward the area dense with yellow dots... Along the way, he saw several Transcendents who did not suspect his identity, it seemed his earlier speculation was correct.

Transcendents simply do not care about ordinary people.

"This Snowfield beneath our feet, harbors Mithril materials... This base was established six months ago, the Late Bell Church initially sent less than ten people here."

Continuing forward,

With Chu Ling linked to the base’s database, she spoke slowly, "After establishing the base, Southern Continent began to gradually transfer church members, leading to the Transcendents you see... and a few ordinary Believers. Most of the ordinary people I sense have not been entered into the database, indicating that the Late Bell Church does not have their information."
