Chapter 134: Chapter 122: Siege

"Escaped!"

The night wind howled.

Gu Shen landed in a small alley across the street from the South Bay Building, retracting Truth Ruler. His face was slightly pale, a sign of substantial spiritual power consumption. However, with his ongoing cultivation of Jingzhe Breathing Technique, his Spirit Sea became increasingly robust, and his mastery of Truth Ruler improved dramatically.

This operation should be considered a narrow escape without mishap.

The top priority was to contact Chu Ling.

Gu Shen quickly left the alley and entered a convenience store, where he bought a pair of headphones and a pair of smart glasses.

When he left the store, the whole street was bustling. Even from a street away, he could hear the noisy commotion from the South Bay Building—it seemed the recent freeze had attracted many people.

Gu Shen did not linger and quickly withdrew in the direction he came from.

"Now is not the time for celebration... The situation is not good,"

Chu Ling’s voice came through the headphones. She manipulated the surveillance cameras around several blocks of South Bay Building, sending live feed updates to Gu Shen’s glasses. The dynamic maps of the blocks filled his vision, marked with blurry white dots, bold black dots, and most notably, striking red dots. Several red dots emerged around Gu Shen’s environment and spread quickly in all directions, vaguely forming a blockade.

Gu Shen recognized these marks; white dots were ordinary citizens, black dots were security personnel of the South Bay Building involved in the incident.

And the red dots... They were Transcendents.

"Bad news, the Transcendents from South Bay Building have mobilized, they’re blocking these blocks,"

Chu Ling said, "The good news is, Chen Mei is still in the building."

As long as Chen Mei didn’t pursue, it was fine.

Gu Shen breathed a sigh of relief and adjusted his hat. He walked rapidly, moving against the crowd, and re-entered the alley... The dynamically updated map showed seven Transcendents, a number likely to increase, but their containment network was not fully operational yet.

"Hey..."

A security guard spotted a suspicious figure.

Everybody was heading toward the South Bay Building, but he was going it alone.

"Tianyuan Street South, Tianyuan Street South, suspicious person spotted."

The guard reported the location through his communicator and hurriedly pursued. The man suddenly quickened his pace and turned into an alley; the guard took out his baton and followed closely.

The next moment, a flash of electricity sparked in the alley.

"Fzzt."

Expressionless, Gu Shen supported the guard who had been stunned by the baton’s electric shock and slowly laid him down in the shadows of the alley.

He picked up the communicator and cleared his throat lightly.

Recalling the guards’ voice.

The gentle glow of Truth Ruler lingered around his throat. Gu Shen pressed the comm button, his voice turned a bit rough and hoarse, with an undertone of sternness.

"The suspect has left Tianyuan Street South and is heading towards Gao Mu Street, a middle-aged male, wearing red, tall stature."

After saying this, he hung up the communicator.

The dynamic map updated, showing the black dots starting to densely converge on both sides of Gao Mu Street.

"The guards and security personnel are distracted..."

Chu Ling whispered, "But those Transcendents won’t be misled by such false information... They must be carrying Sealed Objects, searching for fluctuations of Extraordinary Aura nearby."

"Hmm..."

Gu Shen always prepared for the worst in any situation.

The count of red dots had climbed to eleven. Walking too fast would expose him, walking too slow would let them establish a complete blockade... Right now, the paths left to him were slim.

If it didn’t work, he would have to attempt a forceful breakthrough.

"Wait... Chen Mei has left the building!"

Chu Ling’s voice turned very serious, "He seems to have sensed your presence... he’s heading directly towards Tianyuan Street."

Gu Shen’s pupils contracted.

"How could this be?"

Once again, an event occurred that Gu Shen could not understand.

While he was residing on the nineteenth floor of the South Bay Building, Chen Mei did not pursue him, which indicated that he had lost his trail.

The moment he left the building, Chen Mei did not chase after him either.

"How did he get hold of my information?"

A foreboding feeling emerged in Gu Shen’s heart, his intuition telling him that it was very likely related to the "woman" on the nineteenth floor.

"I saw a woman on the nineteenth floor..."

Gu Shen quickly recapped the disconnection incident, and after a moment of silence, Chu Ling finally responded.

"Transcendent events often cannot be explained by common sense. As for the matter on the nineteenth floor of the South Bay Building, with the information at hand, it’s impossible to trace back to its origin. It can only be attributed to those that defy common explanation."

Gu Shen took a deep breath and gritted his teeth, "What if my location continues to be exposed?"

"Run!"

Chu Ling spoke decisively, "Run as far and as fast as you can. Use the fastest means of transportation to get to the safest place..."

The fastest means of transportation.

Gu Shen narrowed his eyes as he locked onto a marked point on the real-time map.

What a coincidence.

"There’s a heavy motorcycle at the exit to the right. It requires electronic information verification to start, but I can help you with that; it’ll take about five seconds," Chu Ling said. "The only thing you need to be aware of is that there’s a Transcendent nearby, which might lead to an encounter. I’ll send you the profile—"

"Wu Yan, Deep Sea Third Layer, nature-based..."

It took Gu Shen three seconds to go through the file before he turned and left the alley. He spotted a young man not far away, with his back to him, seemingly searching for something.

Indeed, was he using the Extraordinary Sealed Objects to sense spiritual fluctuations?

His Chi Huo was exceptionally good at hiding; he should not be discovered.

The position of that man corresponded to the red dot on the real-time map.

Wu Yan.

Gu Shen’s expression was calm as he naturally sat on the targeted heavy motorcycle, his hands on the handlebars, ready to twist the throttle and leave at any moment. All his actions flowed smoothly, perfectly seamless, making anyone observing believe he was the rightful owner of the motorcycle.

It only needed five seconds.

Once the electronic verification was complete, he would be able to start and leave.

This plan was indeed flawless, a perfect execution—

If the owner of this motorcycle was not Wu Yan.

The man searching nearby frowned as his peripheral vision caught sight of someone leaving the alley. In just a moment of distraction, that someone had mounted his motorcycle, and the headlights even flashed.

"Damn it..."

Wu Yan was taken aback, his mind momentarily short-circuiting.

How could someone be so bold and reckless and how did this guy manage to connect to his motorcycle’s electronic verification?

Wait a second, who would appear at this place at such a time?

"Stop right there!"

Wu Yan roared.

The moment he spoke, his hands were already wrapped in white flames as he ran towards the direction illuminated by the headlights.

"Buzz, buzz, buzz!"

He had been discovered.

But... why did this guy look so ferocious? What could he have possibly done to deserve such wrath?

Gu Shen frowned slightly, puzzled, but the electronic verification was already complete at this moment.

He took a deep breath, twisted the handle to the fullest, and the heavy motorcycle roared into the night. This feeling was not unfamiliar to him as the last time, the motorcycle ridden by Crow was even more ferocious and powerful.

One man and one bike, howling as they charged towards each other!
