Chapter 815: Chapter 815: Sleepwalking in the Kingdom of God (Big Chapter, Asking for Monthly Tickets)

Faint golden flowing light drifted over the phalange fossil, and some invisible force seemed to be pulling at He Ao’s soul from the deepest reaches of the void.

Following that, he felt his ’body’ becoming lighter and lighter, an invisible chill breeze brushing past his form.

His entire field of view, at that moment, turned into pure darkness.

It was then, in his hands, that he felt a prickling ’pain’.

He opened his hand and looked at his palm, where a phalange fossil emanating a golden glow now calmly rested.

He could feel that he had lost ’control’ over his body.

However, he could still sense its presence, as well as the connection between himself and his body.

Having once experienced entering the War God’s ’other-dimensional space,’ he was actually not unfamiliar with this sensation, so he wasn’t overly surprised.

With the glow from the phalange fossil in his hand, He Ao could sense that the ’darkness’ nearby seemed to be undergoing some sort of change.

Luckily, perhaps due to the connection between body and soul, he still retained a certain level of ’Spiritual Vision,’ though it wasn’t strong; what he saw was akin to the world as seen by a severely myopic person without their spectacles.

But this allowed him to make out some of the ’scenery’ within the surrounding ’darkness’ – a collection of twisting patterns that were constantly ’writhing.’

These patterns formed some sort of ’doorway’.

And now, He Ao was passing through this ’door’.

Yet, almost as soon as his gaze landed on these writhing twisted patterns, the darkness in his field of view had already begun to rapidly fade away.

The first thing to hit him was the faint scent of flowers, followed by the slightly chilly morning breeze of the early morning.

A bright and expansive environment appeared in his sight.

He looked up at the sky.

The fiery red sun was rising from the horizon, with the shadowy silhouettes of majestic mountains looming in the distance.

He lowered his head to look at his feet.

The emerald grass undulated under the morning breeze, interspersed with a few yellow and white wildflowers.

He Ao took a deep breath.

Fresh air laced with a faint fragrance surged into his nostrils once again.

In the Copy World, such fresh air only existed in the wilderness; the air in the cities in the morning was clean too, but there would always be a hint of stuffiness mixed in.

In the Storm Zone, you could feel the moisture from the ocean breeze, utterly different from the clean and crisp air he was now breathing.

"My sunrise theme’s not bad, right?"

It was at this moment that a light, smiling voice came from behind He Ao.

He paused and turned around.

A middle-aged man in casual attire, holding a glass of red wine, sat in a beach chair smiling in his direction.

Next to the man, a side table held another glass of red wine, and an empty beach chair.

"Indeed, it’s quite nice."

A coquettish chuckle echoed in the formless void.

The figure of a voluptuous woman wearing a coffee-colored strapless top, coffee-colored leather hot pants, a fishnet stocking on one leg, and the other leg bare, with a high ponytail, emerged from the void.

He Ao watched her cheek, feeling a sense of familiarity with this face.

She walked past He Ao, her high heels clicking, swaying as she moved.

Throughout this process, her gaze didn’t deviate in the slightest, as though she was unaware of the person beside her.

Seeing the woman approaching, the middle-aged man’s smile stiffened for a moment. "Can you change back to your original appearance?"

"Tch,"

The woman’s eyebrows twitched slightly, her demeanor seductive. She walked behind the middle-aged man and bent down, her chest almost touching his cheek,

"I paid a lot for this skin from those religious madmen."

Her tone carried a slight whine of discontent,

"This was molded after the wildly popular idol ’Qi Ke’ from a few years ago, flagship version Qi Ke. Didn’t you really like ’Qi Ke’ back then? Didn’t you want to spend money to get her into your bed? Now that it’s me, you don’t like it anymore? What, am I not pretty? Don’t you want to do something with me?"

"To be honest, it is pretty good-looking,"

The middle-aged man glanced at the woman’s face and took a sip of red wine, "but I have to say, I’m really not interested in sleeping with a brother."

"Boring."

The woman spun around, transforming into a slender and handsome man dressed in a white silk suit. He sat on another beach chair, picked up the red wine from the coffee table, and took a sip, then his eyes lit up,

"’Bax’s’? I heard this stuff is brewed by the Witch Church, and only a few bottles are released each year. I haven’t been able to snatch any for years. Those who play with desires are truly annoying, but you actually managed to get this. This Eternal Divine Nation really is a good place."

"My wine isn’t any cheaper than your ’skin.’"

The middle-aged man took a sip of his drink, "Indeed, this place is like a more upscale virtual reality game."

"This is way better than that broken ’virtual reality’ of Trison,"

The handsome man put down his glass and plucked a blade of grass from the ground, sniffing it lightly near his nose,

"This touch, this smell, unless you’re willing to turn yourself into a fully mechanized body and let Trison’s people fill your brain with all kinds of chemicals to deceive your brain, you won’t get this kind of sensation.

"And even with chemical stacking, they can’t achieve this effect. Their full-simulation experiments kill quite a few people every year,"

He flicked the blade of grass from his hand, watching it drift in the early morning breeze, "Yet here, we can have all of this effortlessly."

"If this place is developed properly,"

The middle-aged man took a sip of his wine, "we can recoup our initial investment quickly."

"These cultists always come up with new stuff. If we bring this out, it’ll scare the folks at Trison to death, haha,"

The handsome man laughed heartily and drained the wine from his glass in one gulp. "It’s rare for me to log on; I’ll go back and enjoy my main space."

"Wasting heaven’s gifts,"

The middle-aged man looked regretfully at the empty glass and cautioned, "Remember to vote for me in the board’s decision."

"Of course,"

The handsome man waved his hand, "But you have to handle these religious fanatics properly. Don’t cause any big news. The world is not very peaceful lately."

"That’s no problem,"

The middle-aged man sipped his wine again, "They still have a basic level of sanity."

Immediately after, he looked up again, quietly continuing to watch the sunrise.

And the handsome man’s body turned into a radiance that vanished into the space.

He Ao looked up at his surroundings and distinctly felt some ’twisted patterns’ stirring.

In a sense, this was also a ’door’.

He lifted the phalange fossil in his hand, looking toward the direction of the disturbance.

As a golden radiance flowed over the phalange fossil, his field of view instantly turned into a vast whiteness and then, following that, a grand and ornate classical colonnade hall appeared in his line of sight.

Bright sunlight shone through the gaps of the colonnade into the hall, while tables around the hall made of marble slabs were filled with all sorts of delicacies.

He Ao glanced over, and these delicacies were much more exquisite than the "roasted chicken," "pork knuckle," and "hamburger" that Alice had imagined in the rooms of the Inner Church of the Eternal Secret Teachings.

Including but not limited to various cold drinks, desserts, vegetarian dishes, all kinds of distilled spirits, red wines, fruit wines, as well as various fresh sea fish sashimi, caviar, grilled fish, and dishes that seemed to be made mainly from the flesh of exotic beasts.

In addition to these delicacies, at the very center of the hall lay a soft, large bed.

At this moment, the handsome man sat on the bed, his body having once again transformed into that tall, sexy woman, only this time dressed in a light, gauzy long robe instead of the brown tube top and shorts.

He Ao looked at that somewhat "familiar" face.

Qi Ke was one of the identities of the Dancing Girl from the Witch Church he had once killed.

To be honest, although the face was modeled after Qi Ke, this guy’s charm paled in comparison to the Dancing Girl.

While He Ao was pondering, various tall and short, seemingly spontaneously generated, handsome muscular strong men appeared in the hall.

Seeing this scene, He Ao’s eyebrows twitched.

"Come, my darlings, let sister see your strength," said the "woman" seated on the soft bed, picking up a bottle of red wine, opening it, and then pouring it over her body.

He Ao fell silent for a moment, then averted his gaze.

Amidst the rising and falling "music", he looked up and carefully observed the "composition" of this space.

Under the blur of Spiritual Sight, he could faintly make out that this space was entirely made up of illusionary "twisted patterns" and "distorted radiance".

However, in comparison to the Inner Church that could penetrate flesh and blood life, this place was purer, with the proportion of distorted radiance far exceeding that of twisted patterns.

And the stability of this space seemed to far surpass that of the Inner Church.

It seemed that the existence of the Inner Church might only be a "trial", while this "Kingdom of God" was the final "finished product".

Walking through this space, He Ao could feel the power of the surrounding distorted radiance attempting to "erode" him.

He glanced at the Phalange Fossil in his hand, emitting golden radiance, realizing he had not taken the "official path" but some "unauthorized" and "abnormal passage" without "permission".

Bright had opened a "backdoor" in this Kingdom of God through some special method, allowing those with the Phalange Fossil to enter the "Kingdom of God".

As an "irregular visitor" entering through an abnormal channel, the Kingdom of God could not "recognize" He Ao, hence it could not assign him a "corresponding" place within the Kingdom of God.

What this phenomenon meant was that although He Ao could walk within this space, the "master" of this space, the "woman" engaged in vigorous activity, could not see him.

And those "distorted radiances" that were trying to invade his body seemed to be the "defense mechanism" of this Kingdom of God, trying to "assimilate" He Ao, to completely transform him into a "regular user".

However, this "regularization" was probably not a "good thing".

If he were an ordinary C-level Transcendent, he might have already been assimilated upon entering this space.

But He Ao was actually B-level, with Super Memory lying dormant in his mind, and after countless Copy Worlds, his soul’s resilience seemed also to far exceed that of a normal person of his level.

At least for now, those twists of radiance still could not affect his soul.

This meant that he could remain in this Kingdom of God for a longer period.

In a corner of the hall stood an exquisitely beautiful mirror; He Ao walked past the mirror but did not see his own "reflection".

He moved steadily forward, scrutinizing every detail of the grand hall.

He could still sense the "door" he had entered through to get into this space.

Referring to the twisted pattern structure of this "door", he found that within this space, there were myriad structures similar to "doors", densely interconnected like a web of stars, linking to the outside world.

He Ao thought for a moment and then walked up in front of one of these "door" structures.

He picked up the phalange fossil in his hand.

With a flash of golden light, the environment in his field of view changed once again.

This time, his vision revealed a stretch of towering, majestic snowy mountains.

A man clad in neat equipment was leaping from the summit of the snow mountain, indulging in the extreme pleasure of the thrill.

He Ao glanced around, then lifted the phalange fossil in his hand again.

The scene in his view altered once more, transforming into a mist-laden bathhouse where some beautifully figured women were frolicking.

A portly man sat on the edge of the bath, shaking his head to the rhythm.

Golden brilliance flashed again, shifting the environment.

This time, he appeared above a stormy sea, where a muscular woman stood on a sailboat, battling the waves.

He Ao took a look at the surrounding sea, then his figure disappeared once more.

This time, he showed up in a serene corridor.

This corridor seemed to be devoid of people, its walls adorned with a series of exquisite portraits.

All these portraits depicted a single person, and it was someone He Ao "recognized."

Unlike the unfamiliar faces he had seen before, this room was adorned with portraits of the incumbent chairman of United Industries, "Vincent."

Each portrait bore various honorary titles, such as "Philanthropic Patron," "Industrial Pioneer," "King of Energy," "Wint City’s Savior."

Some of these accolades were indeed held by Vincent, but He Ao noticed that most depicted honors he had never attained.

Vincent posed differently in each painting, full of vanity.

If every person possessed a space, then the master of this space was either someone who harbored a secret adoration for Vincent or Vincent himself.

He Ao leaned toward the latter.

He looked up at the endless corridor above.

This guy really is narcissistic.

However,

He turned his head back, gazing at the portrait in front of him,

This Kingdom of God seemed to be "granting every wish," and it appeared that "every person" had fulfilled their "desires" in this "Kingdom of God."

It seemed this place truly was the perfect "Eternal Divine Nation."

He Ao recalled the "Undead" imprisoned in the depths of the Inner Church.

What then was sustaining this Kingdom of God?

He lifted the phalange fossil in his hand.

After passing through numerous "gates," the golden glow on the phalange fossil had significantly dimmed.

The rate at which the distorted light eroded his soul was also accelerating.

The next second, his vision flashed again.

This time, what first entered his perception wasn’t another "pleasant scene" but the thundering roar of machinery.

"I won’t go, I won’t do it, I am the most devout servant of the Eternal Radiance,"

An angry and slightly mad shout rang in He Ao’s ears,

"I sold all my possessions, offered everything to the Church, even lost my wife and children, all for the sake of reveling in the Eternal Divine Nation, and you tell me this is the Eternal Divine Nation? I don’t believe it! I don’t believe it!"
