Chapter 718: Chapter 718: The Person Admired by the God of Chaos (Long Chapter for Monthly Tickets)
"Hmm?"
He Ao looked at the other person with a smile, "So, you’re in pursuit of chaos?"
"Of course,"
the man sitting in the center said with a grin,
"You and we are the same kind of person; you also desire slaughter, chaos, the destruction of order, and the freedom to kill at will. You joined Daybreak, and isn’t that what Daybreak pursues as well?
"Daybreak longs for a world dominated by Transcendents, a world where Transcendents can act without hiding themselves, a world where Transcendents stand in the clouds. They yearn for such freedom, unfettered, unrestricted liberty, and isn’t that chaos?
"You joined Daybreak, so you at least agree with this doctrine, right? Besides, essentially, you seek such chaos, don’t you?"
What a slick way of changing the concept.
The ideology that Daybreak pursues is an order ruled by Transcendents. Although it seems Transcendents become ’freer,’ it is, in reality, another form of order.
He Ao looked at him, gripped the dagger in his hand, and twirled it, the sharp blade dancing nimbly on his fingertips. He tilted his head and smiled, "I always feel like your understanding of chaos is off?"
"Hmm?"
The knife-wielding man looked at He Ao with a slight frown. He had anticipated many retorts from He Ao but had never thought He Ao would say his ’understanding was incorrect.’
Are you the Preacher, or am I the Preacher? Do you have a deeper understanding of the doctrine, or do I?
"So, are you the leader of this ’Chaos’ belief? The Pope? The Pope?"
He Ao continued to ask, looking into his eyes.
"Of course not,"
the man snorted coldly, "I am the right-hand Preacher, a leader of the great Church closer to the Divine Beings than I."
"So, you’re second only to the Pope?"
He Ao contemplated and smiled, "Friend, you seem quite feeble. Does your Church really have anything?"
¿
Upon hearing these words, the self-proclaimed right-hand Preacher’s eyes widened slightly. A man dressed in gray and white to his left immediately drew a handgun and aimed it at He Ao, "Lunke, you fool, who allowed you to slander the great Church?"
The right-hand Preacher sitting in the center did not stop his subordinate but looked at He Ao with interest, seemingly anticipating He Ao’s reaction.
Seeing that his actions were not scolded, the gun-raising man grinned, aimed at He Ao’s head, and pulled the trigger without hesitation.
Pff—
The splattered bullet struck the surrounding walls, and fresh blood spouted from the neck of the gunman.
All this happened so fast that no one had time to react.
It wasn’t until He Ao extracted the dagger from the gunman’s neck and let the man’s body fall to the ground that the remaining three realized what had happened. They immediately drew their guns and aimed at He Ao.
"Not bad,"
the right-hand Preacher slowly stood up, wiping the last trace of blood from the blade with a white cloth in his hand. He looked at He Ao, "Lunke, your strength deserves another chance to choose."
A faint flame pattern flashed between his eyebrows.
"The great Church of Chaos will grant you greater power, fulfilling all your desires. Join us, and you shall obtain the truth of eternal chaos."
His voice was calm, as if he had already determined He Ao’s fate, the cold blade reflecting a faint, chilly light, "Or you could choose to become a sacrifice to chaos."
"So do you really believe in chaos?"
He Ao did not directly answer him but smiled as he watched him, "Isn’t your organization just another form of ’order’? You preach chaos, but in reality, you commit acts of betrayal. Aren’t you afraid that the Divine Being you worship will one day discover you profaners and smite you all with divine punishment?"
On hearing these words, that so-called right Preacher’s complexion grew confused, and so did the remaining three ’believers’ with guns in their hands, at this moment they all seemed to be exchanging looks of consternation.
For a common gang masquerading as agents of chaos, He Ao’s words would have meant nothing, but for true ’believers’, these words had a potentially fatal impact.
The contradiction between their actions and their professed ideals was striking, a shock to their moral reasoning that, for believers, was deadly.
He Ao took in everyone’s reactions at the scene.
It seemed the ’chaos’ these people believed in was not just some made-up excuse, but something truly substantive.
And concerning the divine being related to chaos, He Ao could only think of one, and that was his ’old friend’ the God of Chaos he had dealt with in the Copy World.
In fact, the question He Ao had just raised had caused centuries of infighting within the Church of the God of Chaos in the Copy World; they had never managed to form a tightly organized church in the strict sense of the term because of it.
The pursuit of chaos and a tightly ordered Church are obviously incompatible.
The basis for the establishment of the Church of the God of Chaos in the Copy World now, was an interpretation of the basic doctrine of chaos, which is,
Order is for chaos.
Of course, that was already a matter for a much later version.
The Church of the God of Chaos in the main world, appearing even now in its primal version, seemed not to have fully grasped the doctrine of the God of Chaos, merely forming an organization on human instincts for order.
When He Ao presented to them the teachings and doctrinal debates from a more advanced version, they naturally became bewildered.
"You see, you don’t truly pursue chaos,"
He Ao said, looking at their expressions, his lips curling into a smirk, "You’re just a bunch of pitiful creatures huddling together for warmth under the guise of chaos and scrabbling for a bit of gain."
"You!"
The right Preacher finally showed a hint of anger on his face, "With that said, you’re unwilling to accept our ’invitation’ and join us?"
"Join you?"
He Ao raised an eyebrow, "Join a Church of Chaos whose understanding of ’chaos’ is even worse than that of an outsider like me?"
He laughed scornfully, casually spreading his hand as the fresh blood from the dagger dripped along the blade into the soft soil, "Sorry, but I have no interest in recognizing a weak fool as my leader."
The right Preacher lifted the long blade in his hand, his gaze fixed on He Ao, "Kid, you’re very smart, but in this world, being smart doesn’t mean everything. Arrogant fools always pay the price for their hubris."
A symbol of flame encircled by a ring appeared between his eyebrows, a terrifying and twisted aura spreading from his body.
His muscles bulged almost instantaneously, ripping through his grey clothes, and in the blink of an eye, he transformed into a giant standing three meters tall.
"The boss is angry, that kid is done for."
"Quick, call everyone out of the house."
The subordinates standing beside the right Preacher immediately stepped back.
"Is that what they call a grace from the Divine Being..."
The redhead standing at the doorway looked at the rampaging muscular giant; his status was so low he didn’t even have the right to go deeper inside.
The originally fierce long blade, when held in the hands of the terrifying giant, looked like a plastic toy for children.
"Originally, killing you wouldn’t have required such a form,"
The preacher, now transformed into a muscle giant, split his lips, revealing huge, white, sharp teeth that grew from his flesh,
"But your arrogance has thoroughly enraged me. With your narrow experience, I fear you’ve never seen power that surpasses the peak of C-level, never seen such a magnificent grace from chaos.
"You think the tiny place you’ve seen is the whole world, and standing among a crowd of pitiful cattle, you fancy yourself the king of the world."
He raised his long knife high, "Now, I will rip open the narrow world you believe in and smear your brains on the ground, to show you the real sky."
The sharp blade cut through the night, bringing a sudden sonic boom and terrifying force, and it came crashing down.
Flying stones and dirt covered most of the garden, but the expected blood did not appear.
Where is he?
The preacher’s eyes widened slightly as he tried to find the figure that should have been beneath his blade.
But the sharp pain at his neck that accompanied the shift of his gaze,
the vanished figure had already appeared by the side of his head, sitting on his shoulder, and stabbed the sharp dagger into his throat.
"Sorry," He Ao grinned, "Maybe you thought I was bragging, looking down on you, belittling you, but,"
As he spoke, he also gently pushed the hilt of the dagger. The sharp blade slit the throat of the muscle giant, severing the trachea and carotid artery, along with the energy center located at the giant’s throat,
"I was just objectively stating the facts."
The giant tried to speak, but the gushing blood choked his throat, and the scattered energy destroyed his body.
"Fire, cover the boss, shoot now!"
Blazing bullets flew past He Ao’s cheek. The three subordinates who had left, returned, bringing with them a large group from the house, trying to cover for the preacher under He Ao’s ’attack’.
"Want a taste of real ’chaos’?"
He Ao held the hilt and pulled the dagger out from the preacher’s neck.
Then, stepping on the body of the muscle giant as it leaned forward, he leaped into the air.
Blood became the only rain under the clear night sky, sprinkling on the pure white roses swaying in the wind.
The divine power from the deity was fading along with the life of the preacher.
Lying on the ground, the preacher could clearly feel the ’grace’ pulsing, a pulsation not meant for him, but for the person who had plunged the dagger into his body.
Slaughter, madness, chaos, this is what pleases the divine beings.
Clearly, the other party’s understanding of chaos was indeed correct.
Even his deity seemed to prefer this ’enemy’.
Only when the last body fell to the ground, and the flowing blood nearly filled the flowerbeds, did He Ao step out with his feet stained with crimson mud, stopping by the side of the preacher’s body.
He picked up the white cloth on the ground, largely stained red, and unfolded the still clean portion, calmly and composedly wiping the blood off the dagger.
Then he tossed the white cloth to the ground, landing in front of the preacher’s now dull, wide-open eyes.
The air was thick with the scent of blood, as if tangible, the red and white roses mixing together, swaying in alternation.
He Ao’s footsteps reached the doorway, where stood the last and only survivor in the courtyard, the red-haired man who had brought He Ao here.
He trembled as he looked at He Ao, his lips quivering, unable to utter a word.
In fact, from the beginning of the battle, he had wanted to run, but fear had seized control of his body.
He Ao disposed of the right Preacher far too quickly, and then each of the Preacher’s subordinates, almost one with each slice, without pause, without even sparing these men a direct glance.
This could hardly be called a battle; it was a massacre, a completely lopsided slaughter.
He was well aware of how strong the people in this courtyard were. Most of them were heinous criminals who would stab a knife into someone’s heart at the slightest disagreement.
Only such vicious criminals could be heavily relied upon by the boss, enter this courtyard, and become key figures before the boss.
As for himself, he was just a runner, who normally didn’t even dare to meet these people’s gaze.
Yet these very fearsome criminals were now being killed off as easily as defenseless lambs, their bodies lying on the ground, their blood seeping into the earth, looking no different from those ordinary people they had killed.
And what was most terrifying was that the ’boss,’ who seemed like an invincible Divine Being on the ground, was also killed effortlessly by the ’Lunke’ before him, as casually as if slaughtering a chicken.
At this moment, fear had completely engulfed the redhead man, his legs as if filled with lead, unable to move; he couldn’t and didn’t dare to run. He was also afraid that this ’disaster’ he had brought upon them would turn its attention to him if he attempted to flee.
But even so, ’Lunke’ still stopped in front of him.
"Do you need something?"
He Ao looked at the redhead man’s trembling lips, stopped in his tracks, and looked at him quizzically.
Was the disaster finally about to descend upon him?
The redhead man looked at He Ao, mustered up his courage, took a deep breath, "You’ve killed so many people, even the boss, you’ve completely offended the Church. Aren’t you afraid of the Church’s pursuit?"
"Why would they pursue me?"
He Ao smiled, glancing at him, "They should be thanking me."
Then he sheathed his dagger and walked out of the courtyard.
He... he didn’t kill me?
A good while later, when the streets had grown so quiet that there was no sound at all, the redhead man finally let out a long breath.
He trembled as he glanced in the direction He Ao had left, his shaking hands fishing out a cell phone from his pocket.
I need to report all this to my superiors.
This guy, has he gone mad?
He only felt that the city was becoming increasingly dangerous.
It was as if an unconquerable, crazed tiger had entered the territory of the hyenas.

No sooner had He Ao returned to Lunke’s cabin and locked the door than he saw an incoming call alert on his phone.
He lifted his hand to answer the call.
"Hello, Mr. Lunke, I am the leader of the Church of Chaos from the Newland City-State."
The voice that came from the other end was a raspy, seemingly altered voice, "First of all, let me, on behalf of all believers in chaos, express our sincerest gratitude to you for your addition to the doctrine of the Church."
