Chapter 516: Chapter 516: You’ve Arrived (Super Long Chapter, Requesting Monthly Tickets)

"Around seven o’clock this evening, a building collapse occurred on Nuke Street. A five-story building constructed approximately twenty years ago collapsed in this incident, turning completely into rubble."

"According to experts, the collapse may have been due to an underground hollow beneath the building that had not been discovered before. The collapse of this underground hollow caused a local, intense earthquake, ultimately leading to the building’s collapse. Citizens do not need to worry."

"Currently, the gendarmerie has sealed off the area and some nearby streets. To avoid the effects of aftershocks, residents are advised not to approach the affected location unless necessary."

The neatly dressed TV host was reciting the script in an even tone.

Behind her, the screen showed a drone’s aerial view of the ruins, with chaotic concrete and floor slabs filling the entire picture.

He Ao glanced at the aerial shot of the collapsed building on the TV and touched the Miracle Wand at his waist.

The progress bar for Mountain Collapse Tsunami was: 6/5.

This meant that he could use Mountain Collapse Tsunami one more time.

Killing the Puppeteer, destroying the contaminated building, had increased it by three points.

The progress bar for Mountain Collapse Tsunami jumped directly from 3/5 to 6/5; it seemed that the energy the Miracle Wand gained from the Puppeteer was not insignificant.

Then, He Ao turned his head and looked at the two gaunt men whom he had placed on the chairs in front of him, who were still unconscious.

These two were whom his clone had rescued aboard the Velora at the last moment, saving them from dying in the building due to the power of Mountain Collapse Tsunami.

With the collapse of the old building, the Ritual Array and the twisted monsters inside were destroyed by the C-level Miracle Mountain Collapse Tsunami, and the shadowy power that had enveloped that deserted street quickly receded.

The ’vanished street’ was now exposed to plain sight, and it wasn’t the gendarmerie or the media that first arrived on the scene, but ordinary people who were shopping nearby and were drawn by the noise.

However, these ordinary people were quickly driven out by the nearby duty gendarmerie, and He Ao left before being discovered.

At this moment, he was standing in a small clinic with décor leaning towards Central Earth style. One side of the clinic had a roller shutter door, while the remaining three walls were lined with glass drug cabinets, with a passage just wide enough for a person in between.

The walls were adorned with medicine cabinets, and of course, there were also other items, such as the small LCD TV hanging directly opposite the entrance.

It was this TV that was broadcasting the news about the building collapse, and as the news segment ended, the curtain to the back room was drawn, and a Central Earth-looking man in his thirties wearing round-frame glasses walked out.

He looked up, saw He Ao standing at the door, and asked in Central Earth language,

"Hello, are you here to buy medicine?"

"Is this Doctor Lei Cheng?" He Ao said softly to the man, "I’m a friend of Mr. Li."

The owner of this clinic was also a member of the Research Institute’s organization in Rodan and one of the best private doctors in Eren City, a C-level Transcendent himself.

After He Ao expressed his need for a doctor, Li Le had given him the address of this clinic.

The man looked at He Ao and pressed a button below the glass cabinet, the electric roller shutter door slowly closed, and then he pushed open a small door at the edge of the glass cabinet, clearing a path for He Ao, "Follow me."

He turned and headed toward the back room.

He Ao picked up the two gaunt men from the floor and followed him into the back.

The back room of the clinic was simply decorated, with only three medical chairs that could be laid flat.

Under Lei Cheng’s guidance, He Ao placed the two gaunt men on the chairs.

...

"Your two ’friends’ are suffering from a deficiency of vital energy and are cold from debilitated qi. They’ve also suffered some sort of impact. For now, all I can do is administer some glucose to keep them alive, but it’s uncertain whether they’ll wake up," Lei Cheng said softly to He Ao after an examination.

"Please make sure they wake up," He Ao said, glancing at the two men. They were the only remaining rational survivors from the building, possibly knowing something that others did not.

While it seemed he had taken down the headquarters of the Primitive Church and even the shadow and mysterious forces covering the nearby streets of the old building had dissipated,

he still had a nagging feeling that some crucial clues weren’t connected.

"I’ll contact a friend at the hospital," Lei Cheng said softly, realizing these two might be important, "but I can only do my best."

"Thank you for the trouble," He Ao’s gaze returned to the two gaunt men; it was not impossible that they had been affected by the Mysterious Shadow, "These two might have some instability in their mental state; they need to be controlled."

"Understood."

Lei Cheng nodded, acknowledging that as a staff member of the Research Institute, he naturally knew some information about Transcendents and understood what He Ao meant.

He also had quite extensive experience with Transcendent protection.

Lei Cheng left his contact information for He Ao, telling him to get in touch if there were any issues, then bid farewell to Lei Cheng and left the clinic.

At this moment, the moon had already risen above the eaves, casting a hazy starlight upon the streets.

He Ao took out his mobile phone, which contained a message from the gendarmerie captain regarding the response to the photo of the man he had killed in retaliation in the alley on Nuke Street that afternoon.

[Where did you find this person?]

[This crown badge is the emblem of the Restoration Organization of the Rodan Kingdom. Judging by the badge’s intricacy, his status in the Restoration Organization is not low.]

He Ao composed a message in response, [Restoration Organization?]

The gendarmerie captain quickly replied,

[An organization made up of people who yearn for the Era of Kingdoms. They have strong influence within the country and are committed to promoting the restoration of the monarchy. It is said that their leader is referred to as the Duke of Eren, which was the title of the crown prince during the time of the kingdom.]

[To this day, we do not know who this Duke of Eren is. Theoretically, the bearer of this title should be a direct relative of the King, but all of the King’s sons were killed in the unrest five years ago. Of course, we do not rule out the possibility of the King’s illegitimate child.]

Soon after, the gendarmerie captain sent another message.

[The building collapse incident had a considerable impact. The higher-ups have already taken control of the area, so be careful if you are headed that way.]

This was to remind He Ao to take care of himself.

[Thank you.]

He Ao sent a reply, then took out the new phone he had purchased.

He inserted the SIM card taken from the Restoration Organization member’s phone into the new phone and dialed the ’Blood Mentor’ that the member had tried to call before his death.

Based on the actions of the Restoration Organization member, it appeared he knew about the presence of the hidden street.

He was sitting there probably because he had received some kind of assignment to monitor those entering that street.

And the ’Blood Mentor’ he wanted to contact was likely the one who assigned him this task, essentially his ’superior’.

Brrring—

A crisp ringing sound came through the phone.

Meanwhile, He Ao activated his Super Memory.

A thread of confusion surfaced in his mind, as if wondering who would be calling him at this time.

This thought originated from the C-level from Daybreak he had marked.

In that moment, an epiphany took root in his heart; he had obtained the information he sought.

He decisively hung up the call and then removed the SIM card.

Clearly, this C-level from Daybreak was also a high-ranking member of the Restoration Organization of the Rodan Kingdom.

And Jin Ya, the exiled princess of the Rodan Kingdom, was a high-ranking member of Daybreak.

One could argue that a C-level associated with the Rodan Kingdom has another side job, but what about two C-levels?

There aren’t many C-levels in this world.

Streams of thought flashed through He Ao’s mind.

The Duke of Eren of the Rodan Kingdom Restoration Organization should theoretically be a direct relative of the King, but according to customs of the Western Lands, not only sons but also brothers can inherit the throne.

Certain veils that had always been concealing something seemed to be slowly lifting, revealing the truth hidden beneath.

He Ao composed a message and sent it to the gendarmerie captain, inquiring about the reported information of several core members of the opposition who had participated in the overthrow of the Kingdom in the past few years.

The gendarmerie captain said it would be difficult to obtain that information, but he would think of a way.

He Ao turned off his phone and took a taxi back to the martial arts dojo.

——

By the time He Ao returned to the dojo, it was already nearing midnight.

The door of the dojo was left ajar, and He Ao silently pushed it open and entered.

The dojo, once bustling with voices during the day, was now filled with only the silent glow of dim lights.

The girl, donned in simple practice clothes, still stood in the corner of the courtyard, practicing her fist technique over and over again.

Her energy had become even more simple and natural, seemingly more genuine and in harmony with nature than in the morning, her compatibility with the natural world further enhanced.

He Ao stood quietly at the doorway, closely observing her movements.

The many details of Elfia’s fist technique were more perfected than they had been in the morning.

After being enlightened by He Ao, she began to consider the overall impact on her body while practicing her technique and adjusted many of her moves, striving for perfection step by step.

However, her thinking still contained some misconceptions.

It was only after she finished a series of punches that Elfia noticed He Ao standing at the doorway. She looked at him with some surprise, "Master He Ao, have you returned?"

She wanted to show off her achievements of the day but then suddenly realized that He Ao hadn’t officially taken her as his disciple. Showing such familiarity might easily become annoying.

So her initially joyful expression froze halfway, and she was at a loss for words, not knowing whether to advance or retreat.

"You’re doing well,"

Noticing her awkwardness, He Ao complimented her with a smile, "Keep it up."

A surge of happiness rose in Elfia’s heart.

She then saw He Ao lower his stance and demonstrate several of the moves she had just practiced, right before her eyes.

These movements seemed similar to hers, yet there were subtle differences.

Elfia watched He Ao’s moves, momentarily stunned, then suddenly realized something. She took up position and began to imitate He Ao’s movements.

Her memory was excellent. Although He Ao had only demonstrated the moves once, she had committed them to memory and began to copy them, one by one.

After only a few attempts, she suddenly paused, then became as excited as if she had stumbled upon a rare treasure, repeatedly practicing these new motions.

After a few more attempts and getting used to them, she did not forget to turn back to He Ao and bow deeply, "Thank you, Master He Ao."

This time He Ao didn’t step aside because he had indeed taught her something.

Elfia had been improving her own techniques, but without Divine Sense, she could not verify if the improved energy flow was correct and had to rely on her feelings to explore, which led her to some cognitive missteps.

The few moves He Ao had just demonstrated were exactly where Elfia’s thinking went awry.

Elfia thought such energy performance would work, but it was actually counterproductive. At first, the problem wasn’t apparent, but as time passed, it would cause more significant damage to her body and limit the realization of her strength.

He Ao’s modifications had corrected these misconceptions, not just in technique, but also in thinking.

For instance, there was a move where Elfia had to thrust her palm forward.

Elfia’s original revision involved exerting force with her wrist, routing energy through the muscles on the inner side of her forearm to the wrist and then to the fingertips.

This method could indeed concentrate energy at the fingertips, but over time would damage the forearm and wrist, and also the energy flow efficiency through this path was low.

He Ao’s revised approach instructed her to activate the muscles on the outer side of her upper arm, using the elbow to drive the forearm, so that energy passed through the upper arm’s outer muscles and then to the fingertips.

This reduced damage to the forearm and wrist and significantly increased the energy flow efficiency.

However, he didn’t outright explain these; he conveyed them through demonstrating the movements.

But Elfia, with her keen sense, grasped the essence of these movements and the differences from hers, quickly understanding where she had gone wrong.

Elfia was highly intuitive, so He Ao didn’t plan to directly dictate the most perfect form of all her moves to her. He just rectified the areas where she had hit dead ends, leaving the rest of the moves for her to ponder and refine.

This process of reflection and refinement was how she would become familiar with her own body’s structure and energy flow.

And this was essentially laying the foundation.

After becoming sufficiently familiar with her body, it would be easier for her to grasp advanced Martial Arts knowledge in the future, thereby doubling her effectiveness.

This was similar to doing math problems: once the basic formulas and examples were thoroughly understood, when encountering more difficult problems later on, they could quickly be broken down into simpler problems and be swiftly completed.

Having received He Ao’s guidance, Elfia once again immersed herself in practicing the moves. She seemed tireless, like a child with a new toy, practicing the new techniques over and over, tirelessly integrating them into her original techniques.

Meanwhile, He Ao quietly watched her from the sidelines.

In fact, instructing Elfia deepened his own understanding of Martial Arts even further. Many things that were previously unclear became clearer as he had to contemplate their core issues while teaching others, inadvertently gaining a deeper grasp of them himself.

It wasn’t until the moon set in the west and the night grew deep and silent that Elfia came down from her excited state. She looked up and saw He Ao had been by her side all along, and her face flushed,

"Master He Ao, you don’t have to wait for me..."

Seeing that she had calmed down, He Ao smiled and said softly, "It’s okay, I actually need your help with something."

Elfia stared blankly for a moment at He Ao, "Huh?"

He Ao looked at her, "Do you have a photo of your father? May I see it?"

Startled, Elfia shook her head, "My father seldom took photos. After he disappeared, my grandfather hid all the photos related to my father. I only kept one, but I lost it on the way here, and I don’t have any photos of my father saved in my phone either."

Prince Ronnie also did not like to be photographed and hardly left behind any pictures, except for some in simple press releases that featured photos from his childhood and adolescence.

Moreover, Prince Ronnie disappeared at a young age, and so much time had passed that his appearance might have changed due to environmental influences.

He Ao pondered for a moment, then walked into the back room, took out a pen and a notebook, and looked at Elfia, "Could you describe your father’s appearance to me?"

Elfia nodded at the sight of He Ao’s notebook, "Okay!"

And so, one described, the other drew, as the minutes and seconds passed by.

Although He Ao had inherited Vian’s drawing memory and could replicate Vian’s drawing technique with precise muscle control, Vian had not possessed the skill to reconstruct a person’s likeness from a ’description’ alone.

However, mastering one technique could lead to mastery of many, and through constant sketching and corrections, He Ao eventually managed to roughly draw Elfia’s father’s likeness.

Elfia looked at He Ao’s final portrait, her eyes wavering. Then she lifted her head and looked at He Ao, "Master He Ao, you are truly amazing."

"This is for you."

He Ao tore off the portrait and handed it to Elfia.

"Eh," Elfia hesitated, "Don’t you want it?"

"I don’t need it anymore."

He Ao shook his head, he had already memorized it, and after finishing the portrait, he guessed he wouldn’t look at it again.

Elfia hesitated for a moment, then slowly accepted the portrait with a flicker of light shimmering in her eyes.

Her voice paused,

"Thank you."

"You’ve also spent so much time with me."

He Ao yawned, put away his notebook, and turned to walk toward the back room, "It’s late, get some rest."

Elfia glanced at He Ao, then carefully stored the portrait in her arms.

...

Elfia had high talent and good character.

Those who value emotions often do not commit acts of betrayal against their mentors or ancestors.

He Ao closed the door to the back room and sat down on the bed.

Next, he was about to verify a hypothesis.

He closed his eyes slowly.

——

Silence, akin to death itself, woke the sleeping man.

He Ao opened his eyes and sat up from the bed, glanced at the murky sky outside the window, and the city in its deathly hush.

He straightened his clothes, smoothing the wrinkles on his sleeves before calmly opening the room door.

A pitch-black shadow appeared in his line of sight.

The shadow stood motionless in front of the door, reaching out as if to push open the door of the back room,

It stood still, looking straight ahead, seemingly gazing at He Ao standing before it.

In the span of a day, from the front gate to the back room.

Perhaps the next time He Ao awoke, this shadow would appear beside him.

If there was to be a next time.

The moment he saw the shadow, some of He Ao’s thoughts were confirmed. He gazed at the shadow that looked quite frightening and gave a faint smile,

"You’ve come."
