Chapter 468: Chapter 468: Lifespan Exchange Efficiency Analysis Report (Large Chapter, Requesting Monthly Tickets)

The history of the Federation began at the moment the Original Federation was established. From then on, humanity once again had a systematically recorded history.

Prior to the Original Federation, during the Era of the Great Cataclysm, all records could only be found in the fragments of myths from various human tribes and settlements of that time.

These legends, after hundreds and thousands of years of transmission, had already become blurred and chaotic, making it difficult to accurately convey the events that had occurred originally.

Tribes like the Andavi family, which had a stable historical transmission, were in the minority. In the unpredictable Era of the Great Cataclysm, it was hard for people to diligently record history, and they could only rely on oral traditions to document significant events.

And these legends would lose their coherency with tribal migrations and the destruction of Divine Sense, leaving behind just bits and pieces.

Before the Federation, the only historical event that most people could agree on was the "Great Cataclysm."

The majority of human settlements had legends about the Great Cataclysm, and these stories often followed a similar narrative:

A magnificent prehistoric civilization was destroyed by a massive disaster, and the people who remain in the world today are the survivors of that catastrophe.

As for the specific time of the Great Cataclysm, and exactly what happened, no one could say for sure.

This was all the publicly available information that Eve could collect online.

As for other detailed historical information about the Great Cataclysm, it tended to be vague and unclear.

Although the legends from various settlements of the Great Cataclysm were fragmented and contradictory, after so many years of investigation and research, the Federation must have some investigative results about the history of that era, only these results were likely concealed by certain "agencies."

After all, the history of the Era of the Great Cataclysm involves a vast amount of "contaminated" knowledge. If one truly wishes to explain this history in detail, it would be inevitable to touch upon transcendental knowledge.

These historical materials were most likely placed at the headquarters of the Federal Bureau of Investigation or some special agency within the Federal Central Government, which He Ao was currently unable to access.

However, aside from the history recorded by humans, there is another "historical record" from the Era of the Great Cataclysm—those from Divine Beings.

The "Holy Words" of the major Churches often contain accounts of Divine Beings’ words and deeds, as well as stories of Saints. Many of these events indirectly involve the history of the Era of the Great Cataclysm and are important historical materials for research into that era.

Of course, these stories have been "slightly" embellished by these Churches.

According to some information on the internet, it’s not uncommon to see Divine Beings who can annihilate everything in their own Church’s Holy Words be depicted as weaker than a dog in the Holy Words of other Churches.

Moreover, these "Holy Words" only record events related to the Divine Beings of the Church itself, and one cannot find general historical events in them.

However, what He Ao was looking for happened to be high-ranking events related to "life."

Based on He Ao’s previous summary of transcendental situations in the Copy World, Talent Sequences of the same or adjacent pathways tend to attract each other.

As Roger said, Transcendents of the "Doctor" pathway will more or less have some connection with the Life Goddess.

If the Fountain of Youth’s abilities are also related to life, it is very likely a Transcendent item related to "life."

Furthermore, according to the Andavi family’s historical records, the "Stonemason" created by the Fountain of Youth years ago required an Angel to suppress and kill, which proves that the Fountain of Youth’s rank is very likely to be "Angel-tier."

How could an Angel-tier Transcendent item, related to life, possibly have no connection with the Life Goddess?

Initially, He Ao had no intention of joining the Life Goddess Church; he simply asked Roger if he knew anything about the Fountain of Youth. Roger’s reply was "I don’t know," and that was also the response of his senior brother—"I don’t know."

It was "I don’t know," not "I can’t say."

This meant that the Life Goddess Church might not even be aware of the Fountain of Youth’s existence.

This was inconsistent with He Ao’s deduction.

However, He Ao chose to trust his own deduction, so he asked Roger to help him with the "baptism" because he wanted to personally review the "Life Canon."

The Holy Book was not thin; it contained hundreds of pages. Eve could not detect the book and hence could not assist in scanning and summarizing the effective information, leaving him to read it on his own.

But after long-term use of Super Memory, his memory was still quite good, and he could roughly remember the important information even by glancing over ten lines at a time, thus making his reading quite fast.

"You’re reading so quickly?"

Roger couldn’t help asking when he saw how swiftly he was turning the pages.

"Just skimming through to find effective information,"

He Ao casually replied.

"The Life Canon" is divided into four parts, namely the "Gospel," "Saints’ Legend," "Holy Words," and "Revelations."

The "Gospel" tells the story of the Life Goddess.

It speaks of the Life Goddess being born from chaos and nothingness, becoming the divine being in charge of life, the source of all life in the world, the most powerful and eternal divine being in the everlasting universe.

In the midst of chaos, the Life Goddess inspired the very first believers, teaching them the profound mysteries of life, thus forming the earliest Life Goddess Church.

The "Gospel" can essentially be understood as the origin story of the Life Goddess Church. He Ao guessed that other scriptures also claim their divine being to be the most powerful and eternal.

The historical background of the church established by the Life Goddess is described as vague within the text, but He Ao speculated that it might belong to the earlier era of the Great Cataclysm, as it mentioned many instances of "ruins."

Only when the civilization of the old era is destroyed, and not enough time has passed, will there be a large number of ruins in the world.

As He Ao continued to flip through, he noted that not much effective information was mentioned here; the person who wrote this part of the Gospel was very likely one of the original believers, possibly not in a normal mental state.

Just by reading it, He Ao felt the murmurs of the Life Goddess in his mind growing stronger and more chaotic.

These words contained a strong contamination.

However, a person with a normal mind is not likely to "hear" the "influence" of the Life Goddess.

The second part is the "Saints’ Legend."

The "Saints’ Legend" chronicles the stories of various "Saints" who have made significant contributions to the Life Goddess Church and have been recognized by the Life Goddess.

The stories in the "Saints’ Legend" started to show a bit of logic and have a clear timeline.

The mental state of the people who wrote the first two legends of the Saints seems unstable, detailing how the initial church leaders spread the story of the church everywhere.

But by the third legend, He Ao’s reading speed slowed down a bit. The author of this Saint’s legend was still unstable and not clear-headed, yet amidst their convoluted and twisted text, a name was mentioned, "Andaville."

The author described in scrambled sentence order an enemy of the Life Goddess, "Andaville," simply denoted by a syllable, without concrete depiction.

The Saint of this third legend, who was the church leader of that time, died due to Andaville’s attack on the Life Goddess Church.

He Ao continued to turn the pages.

The stories in the "Saints’ Legend" don’t fully follow a logical timeline, but as He Ao read the fourth legend, he saw the name of a Saint who had already died in the second legend. However, generally, the timeline proceeded forward.

When he reached the sixth legend, the entity named "Andaville" once again caused trouble and waged war against the Life Goddess.

The author of this legend seemed a bit more lucid, and the text started to become barely comprehensible to a normal person.

The final outcome of the war was Andaville being slain by the Life Goddess, his corpse falling from the sky.

The original text described his death thus, "Thunder filled the firmament, rain fell upon the earth, waves flowed out from the mountains, covering the world."

The Saint recorded in the sixth legend died in the war against Andaville.

He Ao kept flipping through. The authors or recorders of the subsequent "Saints’ Legends" had a very unstable mindset, fluctuating between chaotic frenzy and rational order.

From the writing style, it appears that almost every legend of the Saints has a different author, possibly written by the church leaders of the time.

By the time he reached the nineteenth legend, the name "Andaville" appeared again. This Saints’ Legend recorded that Andaville was "dead but not stiff," his corpse lingering in the place where it fell, "trying to return from death."

The protagonist of this legend appeared to be very powerful. He was commanded by the goddess to go to the burial site of Andaville, to battle with Andaville’s monsters, to take away Andaville’s "vitality," and to destroy Andaville’s arrangement for "resurrection."

The original text described this Saint as "clearing the skies," "vitality blooming from the mud," and "the earth reappearing before mankind."

The author who wrote this nineteenth Saints’ Legend seemed relatively rational. At the beginning of the story, he described things that had not been mentioned before: "Andaville’s identity."

The name "Andaville" means "Spirit of Life," originally a servant angel of the Life Goddess, but he attempted to rebel against the "Life Goddess."

The original text wrote that he "borrowed power from the thunder and could even slay Divine Beings."

However, He Ao was skeptical of this account because there had already been many instances of "dissing" other Divine Beings in this canon.

This Andaville could slay divine beings, and since the Life Goddess defeated him, the Life Goddess is awesome.

In summary, the message was "the Life Goddess is awesome."

But since Andaville had been entangled with the Life Goddess for so long, even if he wasn’t a Divine Being, he must have been close to one.

Andaville... the Andavi family...

Such similar pronunciation... Coincidence?

He Ao’s thoughts paused for a moment before he continued to flip through the pages.

In the Saints’ Legend, there were a total of 39 Chapters. In the following Chapters, He Ao surprisingly found references to ’saints’ that came into existence after the founding of the Federation. It seemed that the "Life Canon" was not a completed book.

"Is the Life Canon still being serialized in real-time?"

He Ao glanced at Roger with a smile.

"Yeah," said Roger, who was leaning on the couch studying Strengthening Potions without looking up, "this book has outlasted popes more numerous than the current living believers. Generations come and go, but the book remains."

He Ao laughed dryly and lowered his head to continue browsing through the Life Canon.

But after this, the name Andaville was never mentioned again in the book.

It seemed as though Andaville had been completely dealt with, never to rise again.

In the nineteenth Chapter, it was mentioned that the saint dispatched by the Goddess had taken Andaville’s ’vitality,’ which was probably akin to a sterilization operation, cutting off all of Andaville’s contingencies.

At least, that’s what the Life Goddess Church believed.

He Ao reflected for a moment and continued to flip through the pages.

The ’Holy Words’ and ’Revelations’ that followed weren’t much to look at.

’Holy Words’ contained records of oracles bestowed by the Life Goddess, as well as some saints’ statements.

Most of the Divine Oracles from the Life Goddess didn’t possess the logic common to ordinary people. Written out, they seemed more like distorted babblings, probably only comprehensible to those who received these ’oracles’ or those growing closer to the Life Goddess herself.

The statements of the saints that followed were more like the ravings of someone who had consumed too many wild mushrooms. Of course, the coherent parts were still more abundant than the Life Goddess’s ’Divine Oracles.’

And the final ’Revelations’ were essentially the book’s conclusion.

This part was actually the most ’rational’ section of the book, calling upon the believers to dedicate their lives to creating a world brimming with life and prosperity.

Although He Ao didn’t understand how the author of ’Revelations’ managed to derive such a principle from the disjointed and mind-scrambling texts that preceded it.

After briefly flipping through without finding any substantial content, He Ao closed the Life Canon.

Even for him, having fully read through this holy book of the Life Goddess Church, he felt a bit dizzy and disoriented.

The murmurs of the Life Goddess were now amplified several times over in his mind, like the hum of mosquitoes on a hot summer night, or the rolling of thunder.

For some reason, He Ao felt that he was even beginning to understand the Life Goddess’s way of thinking, and believed that making the world teem with life was a grand endeavor.

He rubbed the bridge of his nose, dispelling these thoughts from his mind.

This ’distorted cognition’ had not yet reached a point of affecting his sanity, but from this situation, it seemed his connection with the Life Goddess had deepened.

Although the Life Canon had no supernatural powers, as a book that recorded the words and actions of a divine being, its potential for contamination was probably not low.

He Ao leaned on the couch, waiting for the dizziness and blurriness to fade gradually, and then he gazed at the flourishing tree design on the cover of the Life Canon, lost in brief contemplation.

In ’Revelations,’ the Life Goddess Church called this tree the ’World Tree.’

They believed that the entire universe was actually a World Tree teeming with life; all life forms existed within this tree, and the Life Goddess was the one who nurtured this tree. The mission of the Life Goddess Church was to make this tree flourish even more.

When this belief began was uncertain, but He Ao had not seen any similar descriptions in the oracles of the Life Goddess, so it was possible that it was an embellishment from later followers.

Of course, glorifying and elevating one’s divine belief was quite normal, and He Ao didn’t explore this any further. What he found more puzzling was something else.

Why could he see this book when Eve couldn’t find it in her searches?

His gaze shifted to the storage device attached to his wristband, where the Life Canon was stored.

Was it because he was contaminated that he could see certain items, or,

His gaze returned to the wristband,

Can divine power also contaminate electronic products?

This question seemed to exceed the level he could currently access. He shook his head and rubbed his temples.

Information is the medium of contamination, and since only he could see this information, the contamination was directed at him, specifically. Whether it contaminated people or electronic products, there seemed to be no risk of it spilling over.

Clues acquired from the Life Canon began to fall into place in his mind, and he vaguely had some speculations, but still lacked some critical clues.

"Dad, Teacher Roger," just then, the door to Ennie’s room creaked open. The little girl glanced at He Ao, then at Roger, and took out a small notebook from behind her, "I’ve finished my homework."

He Ao came back to his senses and looked at Roger, "What homework did you assign her?"

"Some basic medical knowledge."

Roger stood up straight, walked over, and took the small notebook from Ennie’s hand.

The notebook was filled with Ennie’s dense notes.

Actually, Roger’s teaching for today had been discussed with He Ao.

Originally, this guy had planned a curriculum where the first day involved learning an introduction to human anatomy, and by the second day, taking to the streets to practice with actual corpses, which He Ao forcefully halted.

It was only then that he changed it to teaching some basic medical knowledge.

Having handed in her homework, Ennie clearly breathed a big sigh of relief. Excitedly, she ran over to He Ao but didn’t speak, merely fluttering about in front of him, flipping through this and searching through that.

He Ao immediately saw through her little scheme, "You did very well today. Go take a bath and get some rest, and don’t play with your wristband too late into the night."

"Okay!"

The little girl stood at attention and saluted He Ao, then giggled and scampered off toward the bathroom.

"This girl learns very fast."

Roger placed the homework notebook on the coffee table.

"Indeed."

He Ao took the storage device off his wristband and handed it to Roger.

Roger accepted the storage device, looking at He Ao, "Did you finish looking through it? Did you find any key clues you were looking for?"

"A little, but it still needs corroboration from other clues."

He Ao nodded and casually picked up the black, elongated device from the coffee table and connected it to his wristband.

This was also a storage device, one that Eve had already hacked.

After connecting the device, a driver installation interface popped up first, but He Ao directly closed the window.

Theoretically, this storage device required a specific driver to be installed and to go through a security verification before it could be read, but since Eve had hacked it, it could be accessed directly.

However, during the hacking process, Eve discovered something interesting: the underlying driver of this storage device was injected with security codes from the related consortium.

And, based on Eve’s comparison, these security codes didn’t belong to Stars Pharma, but to the Welme Medical Consortium.

Typically, these kinds of low-level security codes only use their own company’s codes, which means the storage device Zadi was carrying wasn’t from Stars Pharma, but from the Welme Medical Consortium.

This could also explain Zadi’s act of setting the research institute on fire because he was essentially a corporate spy for Welme.

Welme, as the second in command of the Medical Monopoly Alliance, had rapidly expanded its business in the past few decades, and it had numerous conflicts with Stars Pharma. Arranging for someone to steal trade secrets was not surprising.

Indeed, Zadi was truly talented, having climbed step by step to a confidant position for Reid. It wouldn’t be surprising if Reid’s promotion meant Zadi would take over as the head of the research institute.

Too bad it was all now but a pipe dream.

He Ao took a deep breath and opened the folder on the storage device.

The first thing that caught his eye was a simple file.
