Chapter 218: Chapter 218: Everyone Present Can Step onto the Wealthy List (Big Chapter, Subscription, Favorites, Monthly Tickets Requested)

He Ao verified his identity and entered the room.

The room was roughly over a hundred square meters, entirely silver, with the interior cast in metal, scattered with various complex mechanical equipment.

Although the equipment was placed haphazardly, there was a disordered beauty in the harmony of the colors and the collision of shapes.

He Ao walked past these mechanical devices and parts, heading to the center of the room.

There was a double-layered circular console approximately three meters in diameter, with eight mechanical arms fixed to its outer ring.

All of these mechanical arms could move up and down, rotate left and right, and the outer ring could also rotate, allowing the double-layered platform to reach every corner inside the ring when in motion.

At that moment, the eight mechanical arms were gathered together, forming mechanical petals that enclosed the inner ring.

As He Ao approached, the mechanical arms slowly unfolded, revealing the ’bud’ within.

It was a human-shaped mechanical armor with a primary color scheme of dark brown and silver gray, sleek in its streamline construction but with distinct and sharp edges.

He Ao ascended the platform step by step, walking toward the exquisite mechanical armor, gazing face to face at this labor of love from two generations.

The overall design of this armor did not favor the modern mechanical style popular in the Federation, but rather it was quite solid and serious, like an unyielding and mature warrior, appearing dependable and majestic.

This design was a slight modification made by Vian on his father’s foundation. His father’s original design resembled a rudely mechanical Berserker. Vian miniaturized and streamlined the entire mecha, making it appear more elegant.

Vian named this mechanical armor Adam, more precisely, Adam model 1.

In the center of the armor’s chest was a cylindrical gap roughly the size of a palm, intended for a miniature fusion reactor.

There were two reasons for this design. Firstly, the chest was a vital area, and the human arm design allowed one to conveniently protect the chest without obstructing the view. Secondly, the chest armor was slightly thicker, providing space for the reactor and avoiding any interference with the aesthetics.

Forging the superalloy into He Ao’s desired shape would take at least half a day; the miniature fusion reactor would not be completed today.

But Vian was not one to hang his hopes on a single branch.

He Ao slowly reached out his hand and made an OK gesture.

The sensory cameras that filled each corner of the laboratory quickly recognized his gesture and executed the instructions Vian had set up.

A silver flat box popped out from a cabinet behind He Ao and fell into the clamp of a mechanical arm which hung from the ceiling.

The base of this mechanical arm was controlled by ’H’-shaped horizontal and vertical rails on the ceiling. Since the ceiling was just a flat surface, planar movement could reach any point on the surface with a simple (x, y) Cartesian coordinate system.

Aided by the ability of the mechanical arm to fold, extend, and move vertically, it could achieve movement along the Z-axis, enabling it to reach any point in three-dimensional space.

This laboratory was not only equipped with optical capture cameras to analyze specific finger movements but also featured various distance sensors to pinpoint the location of He Ao’s hand, which, in combination, could accurately track the three-dimensional coordinates of his hand at any time.

By sending these coordinates to the control center of the mechanical arm, it was possible to bring any item from any point in the room to He Ao, wherever he might be.

Of course, this involved various intelligent algorithms and calculations to avoid obstacles, but the principle was simple, and the process was not difficult, manageable with a few simple programs.

The mechanical arms on the first floor worked on a similar principle; most of the time, for the sake of aesthetics, they were disguised as mechanical chandeliers.

The mechanical arm moved swiftly, handing the silver box to He Ao.

As the box landed in He Ao’s hands, it sprung open naturally, revealing the soft impact-absorbing foam inside and the three cylindrical, blue objects with metal contacts nestled within the foam.

He Ao took one and pressed it into the empty slot in the center of the armor’s chest.

Accompanied by the placement of the blue object, a series of mechanical rotations sounded, and a pale blue glow lit up in the chest area of the exquisite mechanical armor.

Following that, a faint glow began to emerge from the seams of the entire armor. This glow flowed to every corner of the mecha and finally converged beneath the forehead of the armor, where the silver-gray light gradually lit up the eyes of the mecha.

This blue cylindrical object was a high-performance compressed battery created by Vian. The battery had enough power to sustain the armor at 70% output for three minutes.

The reason for 70% output was that the maximum discharge rate of the battery was limited to 70% power.

This was also why Vian was so eager to have a miniature fusion reactor.

With such a device, the armor’s power could be maintained at 100% normally, and even overclocked.

"Eve, portable mode," He Ao said softly, looking at the armor in front of him.

"Okay," responded a tender female voice from within the armor.

Eve was the artificial intelligence program written by Vian; she existed not only within the Adam armor but also throughout Vian’s entire laboratory.

Eve possessed high computational and learning abilities, but she could not yet be considered a finished product. She had not reached the level of intelligence Vian envisioned and was more akin to a highly advanced auxiliary AI.

As Eve’s voice sounded, a cacophony of mechanical compressions and collisions ensued.

The armor, once calm and graceful before He Ao’s eyes, rapidly folded into a silver-gray briefcase slightly larger than an ordinary one, with a central blue glowing ring embedded in it.

He Ao reached out to grasp the handle of the briefcase, exerted a gentle force, and lifted it.

The entire Adam 1 model Mecha was very light and thin, incorporating a large amount of a new type of ultra-light alloy, with a total weight not exceeding three hundred kilograms. For Vian, with a physical quality of 35, it was slightly heavy, but not to the point where he couldn’t lift it.

He Ao picked up the folding suitcase, while a mechanical arm beside him took a silver-gray outer accessory, inserted the remaining two batteries into it, and then clipped the accessory onto the suitcase.

This accessory didn’t make much of a change to the overall appearance of the suitcase; it just made the suitcase look a bit longer.

Carrying the suitcase, He Ao walked step by step out of the laboratory and returned to the living room on the first floor.

As soon as he came out, Danny, who was waiting outside, whispered softly, "Master Vian, Director Jelang has returned the call. He said he would initiate an investigation immediately."

"Good!"

He Ao, holding the suitcase, walked into the cloakroom on the first floor.

After a while, he came out, now dressed in a sharp suit.

The Elderly butler followed behind him.

"Has Philip’s board meeting started?"

He Ao straightened his tie and asked softly.

"It just began," the Elderly butler nodded, "Do you need me to prepare a car for you?"

The butler’s car and the one Vian drove out the night before were naturally different; this one was kept in the garage underneath Vian’s villa, equipped with enough security and thoroughly inspected by the butler.

There wouldn’t suddenly be over ten kilograms of high explosives under the genuine leather seats.

The car in which Vian had the accident was a new car he had bought; it had been parked in the Nolanka Group building’s underground parking lot and had been left unused.

Vian generally did not go to the Group building, but the day before yesterday, he happened to have business there, and, delayed at the Group building, he had to drive the car from the building’s garage due to time constraints.

He certainly hadn’t expected that someone would try to deal with him by dealing with his car.

As for why Vian unusually went to the Group building that day, it was because the Nord Financial Consortium had brought a ’lucrative’ IPO proposal.

Under the urging of Philip, the board’s vice-chairman, he had no choice but go to the Group building to listen to Nord Consortium’s people tout their plan.

Vian scoffed at this proposal.

The Nord Consortium was notorious in the financial market for swindling their clients and making profits off of them.

They didn’t just deceive their clients, they also often engaged in activities that ostensibly promoted stock price rises to fool retail investors and small financial institutes into buying in, only to turn around and short-sell, effectively reaping profits from the unwary.

The greatest reputation of the Nord Consortium was its lack of reputation.

But Vian hadn’t anticipated that less than two hours after the meeting ended, he would receive a ’small gift’ weighing over ten kilograms.

"No need."

He Ao tidied up his tie and withdrew his consciousness from Vian’s memories, gave a gentle nod to the butler, rejecting the proposal for a vehicle.

Then carrying the suitcase, he went through the small door behind the living room and entered the villa’s garden.

He looked up at the vastness of the sky overhead, and pressed a button on the inside of the suitcase handle.

The entire silver-gray suitcase rapidly split into countless intersecting cracks, and with the suitcase handle as a pivot, accompanied by a series of crisp metallic sounds, many silver-gray and black-brown metallic cubes climbed layer by layer onto He Ao’s body, covering him entirely in a blink of an eye.

The accessory containing the batteries transformed into two raised shoulder armors.

The compressed batteries at the front burst into dazzling radiance, and amidst a flow of light, the jet nozzles located at the Mecha’s heels unfolded slowly.

A slight vibration traveled along the outer surface of the Mecha, and then, bursts of orange-red flames erupted, lifting the streamlined Mecha slowly into the air and hovering.

He Ao adjusted his stance, getting accustomed to the Mecha’s operation while looking toward the butler who walked out of the living room.

He nodded gently to the butler, then the flames beneath his feet surged, carrying him aloft like a bird spreading its wings, soaring into the sky.

The Elderly butler watched the silhouette disappearing into the horizon, slowly revealing a kind smile, then turned around leisurely and returned inside the villa.

Nolanka Group Tower Top Floor · Board Meeting Room

"Vian Nolanka may not necessarily be willing to go public."

On one side of the brown oval table, a young man with glasses, lean and quiet, threw the thick proposal onto the table.

"Vian Nolanka is already dead,"

said the Elderly man seated at the head of the oval table, his face beginning to show distinct fine wrinkles. He leaned back into the soft chair with a smile, "Lian, if I’m not mistaken, you inherited 1.13% of the Group’s shares from your father, do you know how many times more valuable these shares will become after going public?"

His gaze slowly retracted from Lian and turned to the other board members present,

"Dozens of times! Once we go public, we will become one of the top ten consortiums in the Federation. Your shares worth one hundred million will turn into several billion, and your shares worth one billion will become several tens of billions. Everyone here will be able to step onto the Federation’s rich list in one leap."
