Chapter 1403: Chapter 1403: Impermanence (Large Chapter Seeking Monthly Tickets)

The man with glasses instantly turned around, without any hesitation, an invisible giant hand suddenly emerged from the sky, grabbing at the figure behind him.

But He Ao just stood calmly behind him, raising his hand.

The crescent-shaped scimitar was drawn from his back, a fiery light appearing at the tip of the blade.

Without even looking at the giant hand in the sky, he raised the blade, spun it casually, and took a step forward.

The invisible giant hand was touched by the sharp blade, instantly split open, divided in two.

"How is this possible?"

The man with glasses gazed at the torn invisible giant hand, raising his hands once more.

But by this moment, He Ao had already arrived in front of him, lifting the blade in his hand.

He looked into the slightly vacant eyes behind the glasses and calmly asked, "Who are you?"

"Paxiu, stop playing tricks!" The man with glasses shouted fiercely, abruptly raised his hand, an invisible radiance suddenly appeared from behind him, forming a giant hand reaching towards He Ao.

And his figure flickered for a moment, appearing behind the giant hand.

At that moment, the surrounding drones suddenly burst with brilliant light, shooting towards He Ao standing in the center.

The young man standing on the outside saw this scene, exchanged a glance with the surrounding people in black, and looked at the man with glasses who was pulling away.

He immediately raised his hand, signaling the people in black to bring out the mini laser cannons, aimed at He Ao’s location.

The brilliant light shooting out from the drones fell on He Ao, like a descending sun, enveloping his entire body.

The young man raised his hand, immediately signaling the people in black around to take action.

Poof—

But at that moment, a sharp blade stabbed out from behind him, piercing his heart.

He widened his eyes, not knowing what happened, the surging yellow radiance shot out from the sharp blade, enveloping his entire body.

In an instant, his body and flesh seemed to be devoured by an invisible giant mouth in the void, not even having time to scream before he was completely swallowed by the yellow radiance.

However, this radiance did not completely disappear after the young man was swallowed, but quickly dissipated, flowing away to the surroundings.

The armed people in black near the man with glasses hadn’t had time to react before they were instantly swallowed by the yellow radiance, disappearing into the void.

Only their exoskeleton armors remained standing in place, like remnants of mechanical skeletons left on the ground.

And behind the surging spreading yellow radiance, a slender figure walked through the radiance, raised his head, gazing at the area wrapped in lasers.

Bright yellow radiance flashed across his eyes.

He raised the still slightly bloodstained sharp blade in his hand, raised his hand high, bright yellow lines spread out on his skin.

But before he could completely raise his hand, a surging heat wave descended from the sky, swept across his face.

The distant laser attack was still ongoing, but the silhouette that was supposed to stand in the laser had somehow already left the area.

The cold crescent scimitar with its fiery blade from above was about to tear apart the slender silhouette.

The terrifying heat attached to the blade evaporated the surrounding air, even without touching the slender silhouette’s body, his skin had already started to char black.

However, despite the intensity of the burn, the slender silhouette’s movements weren’t affected in any way, still quickly maneuvering the sharp blade in his hand.

The lines on his skin also became more distinct.

Bam—

At the moment when the fiery blade was about to strike the slender silhouette, the man with glasses appeared in front of him, raising his hand, forcefully catching the fiery blade descending from the sky.

The hot fiery waves instantly ignited on his skin, spreading to his palm and elbow.

The blade etching the fiery light quickly moved downwards, and just at the moment the fiery blade was about to completely split the man with glasses, the slender silhouette finally fully raised the scimitar.

Bright yellow lines spread on his body, linking up, forming a dense array.

The yellow radiance that had engulfed several people in black suddenly gathered, poured into the bodies of the slender silhouette and the man with glasses.

Roar—

A twisted low roar resounded between heaven and earth.

The yellow radiance enveloping the two silhouettes suddenly dispersed, transforming into a large twisted life wrapped in radiance.

He had ram horns, a human head and upper body, but his lower body was densely clustered legs like those of a centipede.

This life’s aura seemed quite similar to the ’Bull-horned Giant’ that He Ao had seen before from the scarred man.

The surging yellow radiance gathered, obscuring the appearances of the slender silhouette and the man with glasses.

He Ao’s new moon scimitar was also stuck on the body of the giant gathered from the yellow radiance, the twisted yellow radiance spread out, covering the blade of the crescent scimitar, ’extinguishing’ the blade’s fiery light.

"Paxiu, your game is over."

A vibrating voice with a booming echo resounded between heaven and earth.

The Sheep-horned Giant raised his hand, a spear gathered in his hand.

Thick blood and flesh continued to emerge in his body, constantly materializing his body, his aura growing stronger.

The surrounding drones seemed to have lost control and quieted down.

But He Ao just calmly watched this scene, raised the crescent scimitar in his hand, and stepped back a few steps.

"Are you scared?" A mocking laugh accompanied by empty echoes spread beneath the entire sky.

Nearby, Vigina, crushed at the bottom of the pit, struggled to get up, raising her head to look at the Sheep-horned Giant shimmering with yellow radiance.

Although everything had developed too quickly, she hadn’t fully grasped how this giant had appeared, but her actions didn’t hesitate.

She glanced at the coast, the same unresponsive Federal Bureau of Investigation agents, and with all her might pulled her voice, hoarsely shouting, "Federal Bureau of Investigation! Eliminate the monster!"

This voice pierced through the void like a high-pitched bird call, resounding in the ears of everyone around.

The agents of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, still shocked by this, suddenly reacted, looking at the giant of yellow radiance.

Some hesitantly took half a step back, but the majority took out their guns, aimed at the yellow Sheep-horned Giant.

"Annoying fellows, why aren’t you dead," the Sheep-horned Giant looked down at Vigina who stood up behind He Ao, "Should’ve eaten you just now too."

However, as he spoke, his movements didn’t stop, the spear in his hand became increasingly obvious.

And in front of him, He Ao held the blade horizontally in front, brought his index and middle fingers together, brushed from the inside over the blade, and fiery light instantly blazed anew following his movements.

With the firelight behind him, he looked towards the huge Sheep-horned Giant and the sun blocked by the Sheep-horned Giant, stepping forward.

Bam bam bam—

Numerous bullets and lasers shot out from the hands of the Federal Bureau of Investigation agents not far away, hitting the Sheep-horned Giant.

Yet facing such attacks, the Sheep-horned Giant didn’t even flinch, instead raising the spear in his hand high, laughing, "Good timing!!!"

He swung the spear in his hand, directly slicing a nearby chaotic street building like slicing tofu.

The sturdy and terrifying spear swung down suddenly, slicing through the void and airflow, colliding with the fiery blade rushing into the sky.

Boom!!!

The upper half of the sliced building landed, crashed on the ground, emitting an earth-shattering rumble, countless dust and debris splashing out.

And among the boulders and smoke, above the thick dust, the spear stopped swinging.

Crack——

Countless tiny cracks instantly spread across the shaft of the spear, covering the entire spear.

Bang——

Then the next moment, the spear shattered with a loud crash, scattering like yellow ice crystals between heaven and earth.

Amid the ice crystals, the crimson black fire blade, already carrying a surging heat wave, soared into the sky.

Zzzz——

The sharp blade pierced into the body of the Sheep-horned Giant, and then continued to pull diagonally upward with the soaring figure.

The scorching flames formed a blistering trail, cutting across the whole body of the Sheep-horned Giant diagonally.

At that moment, the Sheep-horned Giant gazed at the figure flying past in front of him, his eyes suddenly widened, and the writhing flesh stopped moving.

Whump——

He Ao’s body soared over the Sheep-horned Giant’s body, through the void behind him, and landed on the ground.

Boom——

Surging flames burned from the huge crimson scar, instantly engulfing the gigantic body of the Sheep-horned Giant.

He Ao lifted his head, looking at the crimson sunrise that had ascended into the sky.

The intense flames raged behind him like the sun mirrored on the ground, swallowing twisted life.

He Ao lowered his gaze to his hand, where a faint, dense purple glow flickered across the back of his hand, tracing marks like cracks.

But soon, the cracks vanished into his body, disappearing from sight.

He turned around, looking at the towering flames burning fiercely behind him.

This Sheep-horned Giant’s body was incomplete, its power was even less than the Bull-horned Giant he had killed last night.

However, the strength He Ao could unleash at this moment was far beyond what it was last night, and he now possessed an Armor Piercing blade of B-grade power.

Furthermore, the Sheep-horned Giant had started moving during its formation, its body’s energy circuits still fused together, giving He Ao the chance to strike in an instant.

Under He Ao’s gaze, the blazing flames quickly faded away, the power that had descended upon the Sheep-horned Giant was rapidly being drawn away.

Yet He Ao did not fixate on the vanishing flames, and instead lifted his head to look beyond the fire.

Purple radiance spread in He Ao’s eyes, covering his pupils.

Within the field of view of Super Memory, an almost imperceptible invisible shadow fractured amid the flames, allowing He Ao to barely capture its direction of connection.

South.

The surging fire waves gradually dissipated, the encompassing flames swiftly converged before He Ao.

He Ao took a step forward, entering the center of the flames.

There, two charred and incomplete ’sheet-like objects’ were falling to the ground.

"What is this?" Vigina watched the scene, walking through the flames to He Ao’s side, gazing at the objects on the ground.

"Human skin," He Ao said calmly, "The monster wasn’t fully formed, and the sacrifices weren’t completely absorbed."

"Human skin?" Vigina was slightly stunned, then suddenly realized, she looked at He Ao, "Is this from those two Ains?"

She paused in her speech, looking down at the objects on the ground, "But, even if not fully burned, shouldn’t there be remnants left?"

"Their flesh was already hollowed out, leaving just a skin," He Ao replied softly.

Upon hearing this answer, Vigina hesitated for a moment before slowly reacting, rubbing her brow, "Are you saying these two Ains were already hollowed out when they arrived, with other forces holding up their ’skin’, disguising as them to attack us?"

Speaking these words, goosebumps rose on her skin as she looked down at the scene, her voice hoarse, "These two weren’t weak, when were they made into puppets?"

She suddenly felt a surreal sense of unreality.

Although the bespectacled man had disagreements with them, to think of someone you argued with the day before becoming a controlled skin puppet the next morning, just imagining it sent shivers down one’s spine.

She initially thought these Ains had sky-reaching means, but now, merely in the blink of an eye, these ’sky-reaching’ Ains had become skin puppets.

If they can transform Ains into skin puppets, they could easily transform her into a skin puppet as well anytime.

"We’re involved in a very dangerous game," He Ao glanced at Vigina beside him, "Are you afraid?"

"Do you want the truth?" Vigina also glanced at He Ao, her voice lightened, "Afraid, very afraid."

But soon, her voice quickly regained its usual firmness, she gazed at He Ao earnestly, "But fear and cowardice can’t bring truth, when I chose to walk this path, I knew I wouldn’t regret."

"That doesn’t sound very confident," He Ao lowered his head, casually remarked.

"After all, fear can’t be concealed," Vigina turned her gaze downward, earnestly said, "But this is my honest thought."

Sensing Vigina’s concern easing slightly, He Ao looked at her and smiled, "Do you still carry electronic handcuffs?"

Vigina paused slightly at his words, she looked back and said softly, "I don’t think it’s necessary anymore."

He Ao hadn’t had time to observe the reaction of the Federation agents outside, she had the time.

"Hmm?"

He Ao followed her gaze, turning around to look behind.

At the edge of his field of view, the Federation agents at the perimeter were lifting their heads, observing him from afar.

Most of the agents had put away their Weapons, merely watching him.

Some agents had already crossed the street, quickly heading towards them.

Although they still maintained some vigilance, they no longer held the hostility they initially had when He Ao partnered with Vigina.

"It seems they are accepting you," Vigina quietly said.

In a sense, during the previous battle, He Ao and the Federal Bureau of Investigation were comrades fighting together.

"Perhaps," He Ao replied noncommittally, withdrawing his gaze without mentioning the previous topic, and instead focused on the dazed black-clad men nearby, "Get someone to control those few, work with the investigation."

He looked at Vigina’s slightly puzzled expression, at the remains before him, and continued, "These Ains likely discovered something, leading to their demise."

"Okay." Vigina swiftly understood, proceeding towards the nearby black-clad men.

A team of Federation agents quickly followed her.

He Ao observed her approach the black-clad men, then raised his gaze, sweeping over the battle drones that had already fallen silent around him.

Eventually, he retracted his gaze, taking one last glance at the ground, at the remains left as mere shells.

The Honorary Noble’s ritual demanded participation in an ’event possibly causing injury or death to thousands.’

But such events were not easily found.

Previously, he considered the kidnapping of Kewort Group’s CEO a potential incident that could extend, providing him the opportunity to complete the ritual.

Hence, he sought out Kailuo, searching for clues throughout the night.

But now, it seemed that one challenge was not yet settled, while another emerges.

The entire situation seemed to be rapidly spiraling out of control, heading in the worst direction.

Of course, the origins of these events might not be entirely unrelated.
