Chapter 1169: Chapter 1169: Warehouse (Request for Monthly Pass)
Borek slightly widened his eyes, staring at Weiken, and after a moment of silence, he rasped, "Seems like something you would do."
"To gain power and wealth, sacrifices must be made."
"After that, I never returned here, only saw this place through the holographic map," Weiken said calmly.
He looked around and continued, "This place hasn’t changed much over the years, seems like the people have increased though. Oh, I remember now, the area has been expanded quite a bit. Just where we entered, it looks like new circles were built outside."
"These people here, who lost their jobs, are also your stepping stones and sacrificial lambs,"
Borek, watching the frail figures clad in thin, worn cotton clothes passing by, said with some mockery, "This place is a historical stele, inscribing your ’great achievements’."
"In this world, some earn money while others lose money,"
With a cigarette in his mouth, Weiken spoke indifferently as if unbothered by Borek’s mockery, "It’s just that these people are unlucky, but gathering here, they also help generate more income and value for me."
"Perhaps the person who caused your mother to end up here thought the same way."
Borek spoke softly.
"Young man, talking like this is useless to me. This city has been like this for decades, hundreds of years even, it won’t change, and no one can change it. Instead of cowering in tiny shacks, groaning in pain from sickness, better to be one of those who decides life and death.
"A sheep turned into a wolf is no longer of the same species,"
Weiken stopped, looking at the building in front, and said calmly, "We’ve arrived."
In front of them, a small brick building stood out starkly amidst the densely packed shacks, looking conspicuously out of place.
Clusters of people were walking out from the brick building, seemingly after an event had just ended.
A man in a red robe, looking gentle and scholarly, was following behind the crowd, seeing everyone out.
Then he saw Weiken and Borek standing at the door.
His smiling face paused briefly.
Weiken lifted his top hat, looking at the red-robed man, and said with a smile, "Shall we go in and talk?"
"Sure."
The man in the red robe nodded slightly.
"Wait here for a moment."
Weiken turned back to Borek.
"Aren’t you afraid these lunatics might kill you?"
Borek sneered, raising his eyebrows.
"Sometimes you have to take risks."
Weiken shook his head, put on his top hat, and walked towards the man in the red robe.
Borek, not trusting the guy, raised his eyebrows and leaned against the side street with a gun in hand.
He gazed at Weiken’s retreating figure, contemplating where to shoot for an instant kill.

Federal Bureau of Investigation Building
Hearing the conversations through his headset, He Ao stepped out of the elevator and looked at the tightly closed door and the password lock securing it.
He reached out, his Divine Sense infiltrating the door, quickly finding the lock’s core, then gently twisted it.
Click—
The door slowly opened.
Almost simultaneously, flames burst forth in the darkness, and intense gunfire accompanied by flashing lasers poured out like rain towards the opening door.
He Ao, as if not feeling the fierce bullets, walked into the fiery and luminous ’rainstorm’ with ease.
His figure naturally passed through the raindrops, moving through the laser beams like a breeze.
Some bullets were about to hit him when he gently caught them, gathered them together, and tossed them aside like a handful of marbles.
In an instant, he had passed through the storm of lasers and bullets and entered the warehouse.
The warehouse lights were off, and all was pitch black.
But for a Transcendent like He Ao, such darkness was trivial.
Several machine guns adjusted their barrels, continuing to spill bullets towards He Ao, but it was evident their fire had thinned out.
One reason was that He Ao was nearing dead angles beyond their shooting range, and secondly, it seemed the internal settings of these guns avoided some crucial areas.
However, none of this concerned He Ao; he naturally passed through the sparse gunfire at the rear and arrived at a monitor embedded in the wall.
The monitor displayed a user login interface, with a biometric port next to it and no other interaction devices.
He Ao glanced at the monitor, placing his hand on the wall beside it.
Divine Sense spread from his fingertips, instantly seeping into the wall, projecting the scene behind it into He Ao’s mind.
He Ao’s fingers moved down about twenty centimeters below the monitor, then he exerted slight force, prying open a metal plate that fused with the wall to reveal an internal data port.
Queke had still used the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s original hardware settings, only slightly modified by himself.
He Ao lifted his hand, unplugged the data cable from the port, and connected it to his bracelet.
"Attempting to bypass the system firewall···"
Almost the moment he connected his wristband, Eve’s voice rang in his ears.
"Firewall breached···hacking the account···account successfully hacked···implanting overlay program···"
He Ao didn’t have to wait long; with Eve’s voice, the monitor in his field of view flickered like a scrambled signal.
Soon, the account login page auto-filled with what looked like a scrambled username and password, then completed the login.
A simple warehouse management query system lay exposed before He Ao, and concurrently, the continual gunfire and flashing laser cannons ceased abruptly.
This was Eve shutting down the security system.
Theoretically, the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s systems are very hard to breach.
As a martial organization spread across the entire Federation, although each city’s Federal Bureau has its own local network subsystem, each of these subsystems is connected to Ains’s main system and shares a unified security system.
Attacking a Federal Bureau’s sub-network equals attacking the network of the whole Federation’s Federal Bureau.
Not only is this very difficult, but it might also lead to being hunted by the Federal Bureau’s headquarters in Ains via the network cable.
But Queke, aiming to monopolize the extraordinary items in the warehouse, disconnected the second and third floors of the warehouse from the entire Federal Bureau’s system and installed his own system.
This warehouse management system seemed decent and had a security system—one could tell Queke had spent a lot of money on it.
But compared to Eve’s computing power, such a small system is as fragile as a piece of paper.
"Lighting system activated···attempting to install network card driver, connecting to the network···"
Accompanied by Eve’s gentle and calm voice, a bright light suddenly illuminated from above.
Light after light showered down from above, lighting up the entire warehouse as if it were daylight.
He Ao looked up and saw enormous shelves, each filled with extraordinary items arranged in rows, each sealed in different containment methods.
Some items occupied a lot of space, some occupied less, so the arrangement of these extraordinary items was somewhat irregular.
Theoretically, the higher the level and threat of the extraordinary item, the more space it occupies.
According to the rules of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, these items are uniformly termed ’sealed items’, and are arranged in a two-section numbering system.
For example, the extraordinary item closest to He Ao had a number, 6-1567.
The first number, 6, means it’s approximately an F-level extraordinary item, the number 1567 suggests it’s likely the 1567th 6-level ’sealed item’ taken into the Federal Bureau’s system.
Although the Federal Bureau often correlates sealed item levels with transcendent levels, according to the regulations of the Federal Bureau, the level of sealed items is calculated based on their hazard properties.
For instance, a Level 1 sealed item is defined as: ’Can cause severe or destructive damage to a city or large areas within a city.’
Suote had never seen a Level 1 sealed item, and with his security clearance, he also couldn’t handle that level of sealed items.
But combining what he recalled from bits and pieces he’d heard about certain Level 1 sealed items, He Ao guessed that the actual corresponding level of a Level 1 sealed item probably far exceeds B-tier, but might not quite reach the Angel Tier, probably falling within the Incomplete Angel category.
The next level down, Level 2 sealed item, is described as: ’Can cause significant or destructive impact on part of a neighborhood or street.’
Generally speaking, roughly corresponds to the destructive power of a B-tier Transcendent, but some purely auxiliary B-tier items don’t reach this level of destructive power.
Following levels 3, 4, 5, they also roughly correspond to C, D, E tier respectively.
The criteria for Level 6 sealed items is: ’Can cause fairly severe impact on one or more ordinary people.’
Roughly corresponds to F-tier.
Of course, because the criteria are different, the levels of transcendent items aren’t strictly linked to sealed item levels.
Some weaker E-tier Talent Sequences forming extraordinary items may only affect one or two people with minimal harm and thus categorized as Level 6 sealed items.
And some F-tier, despite being weak, may be affected by some sort of contamination, leading their resulting extraordinary items post-mortem to carry some degree of contamination and danger.
Such extraordinary items might then be categorized as Level 3 or even Level 2 sealed items.
In the Federal Bureau of Investigation, different branches have restrictions on the levels of sealed items they can contain; for example, Dawn City’s Federal Bureau can contain up to Level 2 sealed items and is equipped with facilities to seal and handle Level 2 items.
And a smaller city like Minte City can only contain up to a Level 4 sealed item, roughly equivalent to the capabilities of a D-tier Transcendent.
Sealed items exceeding a city’s highest containment level would be sent to Ains, where the Federal Bureau’s headquarters centrally contain or manage them.
Level 1 sealed items would be sealed in some unknown special areas under the leadership of the Director of the Federal Bureau.
Of course, whether Suote or Ande, they only know about sealed items from Levels 1 to 6.
Whether there are higher levels of sealed items is unknown.
If He Ao had to guess, he’d say it’s likely there are.
Because the numbering of sealed items in the Federal Bureau matches the numbering He Ao saw in the Main World’s relics.
If the relics are indeed strongly associated with the Original Federation and the dungeon world’s Federation is established on the basis of the Original Federation, then it’s very likely that this sealed item system is also hereditary.
He Ao had seen sealed items in the Main World with three-digit numbers without any level number in front.
He could even faintly guess the reason why the Federal Bureau keeps higher-level sealed item information secret.
These powerful sealed items, merely knowing their corresponding codes, could get one marked and possibly affected.
Typically, like the Fate Spinning Wheel, the sealed item 005 in the Main World."
"Network reconnected."
Eve’s voice awakened He Ao from his reverie.
