His physical fitness had directly increased by 20.

He Ao fell into brief contemplation.

The ability of ’Onlooker’ itself should be more inclined towards enhancing the five senses, with not a significant impact on physical fitness. He Ao could clearly feel that not much power was flowing towards his muscles and organs.

The reason for such a high increase is probably because He Ao absorbed all the energy flowing towards his muscles and organs as much as possible.

After all, he had experience with Martial Arts Training and utilized the surplus energy to the greatest extent.

After a short period of adaptation, He Ao realized that the power of ’Onlooker’ had similarities to Super Memory, except one was about perceiving with the body, while the other was perceiving from a higher dimension.

Using his experience with Super Memory, He Ao’s grasp on Onlooker’s power was rapidly improving.

He Ao estimated that by tonight at the latest, he would be able to master the power of Onlooker, and then take another dose of ’Talent Sequence 29: Mercenary’ Secret Medicine.

After stabilizing the power of ’Onlooker’, He Ao turned his gaze to the weapons around him.

For one with ’Basic Firearms Mastery’, seeing these firearms was like a lecher wandering into a kingdom of women.

······

He Ao spent some time familiarizing himself with all the firearms, then took a large coat hanging on the side wall.

Clearly, the coat previously belonged to Roy’s father, and Roy’s father was no small man, so the coat was a bit too large for He Ao now.

He Ao took it because the inside of the coat had several hidden weapon pockets, and there was even a long slot for cold weapons at the back. The slot was specially hollowed out to both conceal the existence of the cold weapons and not be too uncomfortable to wear.

He Ao found a scabbard in the secret room and inserted the short sword into it. The scabbard was somewhat long, but it was just manageable.

Then he hid the short sword inside the coat, changed his clothes, put on the coat, closed the secret room, and left the apartment.

In the time he would master ’Onlooker’, he could also drop by the shop to see if there were any other clues.

——

Around six in the evening, after crossing the busy streets, He Ao arrived at the Eno Restaurant owned by Roy.

Eno was the name of Roy’s father.

The restaurant was small, located near Hope Building in a neighborhood that was one of the most chaotic areas of Dawn City.

The restaurant operated from ten in the morning until two past midnight, mainly offering cheap, but not particularly tasty fast food.

"Junkies addicted to illegal drugs, gang members, Anksai B*tch, oh, and a bunch of fools who think they’re cool but are actually getting played, when have we ever had normal people in this place?"

Just as He Ao was pushing open the door of the restaurant, he heard a hearty female voice ranting impatiently at the front desk.

The owner of the voice was the restaurant’s ever-present waitress, a spirited and voluptuous woman in her twenties, with shoulder-length, wavy auburn hair.

Her name was Naomi.

In fact, Naomi had been at the restaurant even longer than Roy.

"Oh, I’m not talking about you," Naomi said as she saw He Ao walking in, "Roy—a vagabond inheriting a million-dollar estate, you’re barely considered a normal person."

"I thought you would drop the ’barely.’

He Ao shrugged his shoulders.

"That’s impossible," Naomi was about to turn around, but suddenly she stopped in her tracks, her gaze fixed on He Ao’s cheeks, full of disbelief, "Roy, have you successfully lost weight? Don’t tell me you’ve got a six-pack now, because then I might just want to roll in the sheets with you."

"Not yet."

He Ao shook his head.

This was the straightforward lifestyle of the lower echelons of Dawn City, where every sentence was laced with vocabulary that wouldn’t be deemed civilized.

"Then you’ve missed a great opportunity."

By this time, new customers had arrived, and Naomi, seemingly with a sense of regret, shook her head and approached the newcomers with a menu, "This lady... oh... handsome lady and your pretty boy toy, what would you like to eat?"

Naomi might have a sharp tongue, but she was indeed one of the few reliable people around here.

When Roy first took over the restaurant, the original manager was in cahoots with an outside gang, trying to take over the restaurant, and it was Naomi who provided the information that helped Roy take back his establishment.

He Ao, with the power of an ’Onlooker,’ carefully observed the restaurant.

Unfortunately, after making a complete round, he didn’t find any suspicious details that would suggest a secret mechanism.

With his current abilities, he would have easily detected mechanisms like the family portrait ones.

It seems like there was no secret chamber in the restaurant.

It might just be that Roy’s father left him the restaurant simply as a fixed asset for his child.

After all, compared to the inheritance worth millions, this restaurant wasn’t worth much.

After taking a look around and finding no clues inside the restaurant, He Ao was about to return to his small office when Naomi’s loud voice caught his attention,

"Byrne, burger and diet soda for table eight!"

"Don’t rush," a man in a tank top and a chef’s hat, his hair a mess, poked his head out from the serving hatch, slowly presenting a burger and a soda. His gaze lingered on Naomi’s ample bosom, "If you’d take the chance I gave you, then you’d know, stamina is an essential quality for a man."

"Given the chance, I’d grab your eyeballs and twist them back 180 degrees."

Naomi rolled her eyes, picked up the plate and the soda, "Keep your lecherous gaze off me."

"Byrne, did you go to Alisel again yesterday?"

He Ao walked over, looking at the lifeless Byrne. Alisel was the name of a nearby neighborhood, known for the Red Light District famous throughout Dawn City. He Ao placed his hand on the serving board, looking at him with interest, "Didn’t you just get an advance on this week’s salary and max out your credit card?"

In this area, it’s impossible to hire normal employees; Byrne’s issue was that his private life was a bit messy, mostly led by his desires.

It was someone else’s private business, not something He Ao could control. There were plenty around who were addicted to banned substances, swindled, abducted, murdered, and set fires. Amongst these rascals, Byrne could be considered a pure little white flower.

Although his private life had always been disorderly, Byrne usually seemed to be in good spirits, as if he had been injected with chicken blood; yet today, he seemed unexpectedly exhausted.

He Ao faintly sensed something was amiss.

"I’d rather be penniless than forgo the pleasures of a beautiful woman’s company."

Byrne muttered weakly.

Then he realized he was talking to his employer and creditor, so he cautiously leaned in, "Boss, how’s White Rabbit Dance Hall? I hear the chicks there are top-notch in all of Alisel."

"White Rabbit Dance Hall?"

He Ao frowned with a puzzled look at Byrne.

It’s normal for a single man to have some needs, but Roy had always been restrained and had never been to any place like the White Rabbit Dance Hall.

"Hey hey, Boss, why the act? We’re all guys here," Byrne grinned, leaning in closer, "I saw you with my own eyes coming out of the White Rabbit Dance Hall last night. I even called out to you, but you didn’t respond."

"Are you sure you saw me?"

He Ao looked up at Byrne intently.

In his mind, there was absolutely no memory of Roy going to the White Rabbit Dance Hall.

Or to put it another way, his whole memory of last night was a complete blank.
