Volume 6 Chapter 8: Grace Felt Jealousy
In the afternoon, inside a dilapidated building that had been turned into an inn, in Akuo Town.
Inside the room, Grace first lifted the bed entirely and then kicked open the lid of the storage box, before placing the bed on top and pushing it down.
As soon as the bed touched the box, a strange ripple emanated, and magically, Grace managed to stuff the bed into the storage box.
Next, Grace turned around, changed out of her plain village attire, put on her original black leather trench coat, and then placed her luggage on top of the storage box. She bent down and lifted the entire storage box out.
Outside the door on the rain shelter platform, Melon was counting the items inside the box; Belle reached out to touch the owl on her shoulder, while Derisha was busy maintaining her weapons. Tanaya and Alice were enjoying some snacks.
As for Rifle, he was lazily rolling around with his four legs up in the air.
It seems everyone is here, waiting for Walson's notification— Yes, this is also a plan arranged by Walson and us together.
The true capital of the Dwarven Empire is underground, and it's a place where all outsiders are prohibited from entering.
In such a situation, only Walson can enter without arousing suspicion, because Walson is short and resembles a dwarf.
And what I have to do is wait for Walson's contact, then take everyone directly through the [Ender Pearl] placed on Walson to jump into the space and hopefully sneak into the [Dying Steel Citadel] without being discovered.
... It's definitely not smuggling, just wanting to take care of Walson by his side for a while.
Although Walson is reliable and gentle, his living habits are a bit messy. When he's alone, he always eats only pickled meat sandwiches, throws clothes everywhere after bathing, and has the bad habit of kicking off the blanket when sleeping, which is worrying and requires someone to take care of him.
... Well, but if I were to pretend to be a dwarf, wouldn't Walson feel depressed? Walson has always been sensitive about his height.
I really shouldn't say things like that— No matter what, Walson will always be everyone's favorite Walson, whether it's me, Melon, Derisha... or Aure.
... After coming up from the [Flame Labyrinth], both Walson and Aure lost their last bit of memory, so I don't know what happened in the end.
But it's apparent that something between Walson and Aure has changed.
Until a few days ago, well, the day Walson left, Aure kissed Walson...
Hmm... although I knew this was bound to happen... but, but it happened in a place where everyone could see, Aure just kissed Walson like that...
Isn't– isn't she embarrassed? Wouldn't she feel shy about being seen kissing in public?
Just thinking about it made my face flush... kissing Walson in front of others...
Walson didn't seem to show any signs of disliking it, c-could it be that Walson really likes it?
Have I been using the wrong approach all along—? No, wait, I rarely kiss Walson like that— Could it be that Walson only likes Aure in the end—?
Hmm... I think I might have been jealous just now.
...It seems like it's been a long time since I felt this way, since I put on the bracelet Walson gave me.
Jealousy….
It's something I never felt when I saw Derisha or Melon together with Walson, but ended up feeling when Aure does...
"Grace, I prepared some snacks, would you like some?" While I was lost in thought, Aure appeared in front of me with two small paper bags.
...Beautiful, good figure, and well-endowed— And because she used to chat with Walson a lot before, she knows Walson's preferences very well.
"...Aure, do you know what Walson likes to eat the most?"
I know it too, it’s grilled beef...
"It's beef, he seems to particularly like the grilled kind. Why do you ask all of a sudden?"
"...And what about what Walson likes to drink...?"
"Isn't it fruit wine? He doesn't seem to like the too strong ones."
"...And his favorite sleeping position?"
"Um, Grace, are you okay?" Aure seemed to sense that something was off.
"What . is . it?" I took a step forward, using my height advantage to look down at Aure.
"It's probably sleeping on his left side, Walson said it's better for blood circulation— Huh?" Aure made a slightly silly sound as I couldn't resist pinching her cheek.
"Why, do you know?" I tilted my head slightly and began blowing air into Aure's ear.
"Uh– uh— It’s because I sneak off to watch Walson sleep at night— It’s just a few times— Wait! that tickles! Please spare me—!"
...
"Grace, it's time to go, are you all ready?"
"Ah, everyone, we can go now, Master has sent a message— Oh, Miss Aure?" Melon finished counting the goods, noticed Walson's message in the [Party Telepathy], lifting her head.
"Alright, everyone, come over, we're ready to go." Grace said seriously as she walked past Melon.
Melon blinked and shifted her gaze back to the ground - where Aurevia lay, disheveled, flushed, and panting.
Hmm... Miss Grace's is indeed as terrifying as ever when she’s jealous.
