Chapter 1374: Chapter 1373: Hearts in Perfect Harmony with a Single Thought
Gu Joy chuckled; she knew it was also because her father cared about her.
When she was little, her father wasn’t by her side, so those memories were quite blurry, but as soon as she was old enough to remember, her father always held her in the palm of his hand.
Even now that she had grown up, her father was still very worried, just like now; she had only gone out, and he was already anxious.
"I haven’t finished talking to Joy yet, have I?" Gu Shaoting was somewhat dissatisfied. He was having a great time chatting with his daughter, wasn’t he?
"Mr. Gu, it’s late, and Joy has been sitting in the car all day; she’s tired. Let her rest early," Shu Pan said, a bit irritably.
Mr. Gu, in the eyes of outsiders, was the "Cold-faced Yama," especially in the world of business where he always kept a stern face and a reserved demeanor. Only in front of his family did he show a warm side.
Yet, even so, this Mr. Gu spoiled his daughter to the skies.
Fortunately, Gu Joy was always obedient and hadn’t developed any bad habits.
Gu Shaoting thought it over and figured there was some sense to it, but still felt somewhat wistful in his heart.
"Honey, we also haven’t gone to the Capital City for fun in a long time. Why don’t we make plans to go have some fun in the next couple of days?" Gu Shaoting suddenly had a brainwave. This could be a good plan.
"Mr. Gu, are you serious about what you’re saying? Didn’t you just sign a major contract the day before yesterday? Are you not very busy right now? Who was it that just told me that they needed to work overtime during this period?" Shu Ran couldn’t help but tease.
Gu Shaoting was taken aback; indeed, he had just contradicted himself—and it hurt.
"But time can be made," Gu Shaoting responded.
"Gu Joy will be back in a couple of days. You should focus on your work," Shu Pan said, laughing.
He really was a "daughter-slave."
"Alright then," Gu Shaoting agreed helplessly. He had indeed been quite busy recently.
...
Although it was Gu Joy’s first long trip alone, she wasn’t scared. With Zhou Yanlin looking out for her, there was nothing to worry about.
After resting for a night at the hotel, she felt fully rejuvenated.
She woke up early in the morning full of energy, packed up her things, and just then her phone rang.
"Joy, are you up? I’ll take you to eat an authentic breakfast and then show you around the campus," Zhou Yanlin had it all planned out.
"Do you not have classes today?" Gu Joy didn’t want to disturb his studies.
"No, I’m reviewing on my own now. Don’t worry, I’ve got everything arranged," Zhou Yanlin didn’t seem to care about exams at all.
Normally, his grades were at the top of his class, and he had a solid foundation.
He wasn’t the type to cram at the last minute.
"That’s good then, just make sure you don’t neglect your studies. I could wander around by myself too," Gu Joy said, pursing her lips.
After hanging up the phone, Gu Joy immediately changed her clothes and headed out with her bag.
However, when she saw Zhou Yanlin, she froze; she hadn’t expected that they would be wearing matching outfits.
Sweat...
The two had not planned this, but coincidentally both wore white hoodies paired with jeans.
And the colors were almost identical.
When Zhou Yanlin saw her, he paused as well, probably with no mental preparation either.
But he quickly began to smile; this was what they called "a meeting of minds," right?
"What a coincidence," Gu Joy said, feeling a bit embarrassed.
"Yeah, it proves we have the same taste. Let’s go," Zhou Yanlin noticed her discomfort and quickly smoothed things over.
"Okay," Gu Joy followed behind him with her head down, her cheeks slightly flushed.
