Chapter 447: Chapter 447: Pranay’s Sly Move, Three Suspects
Las Vegas, a hotel suite.
Reesi and Winslow returned to the suite with Luo An, who directly approached Michelle and asked:
"What clues did you find in that notebook?"
"...It’s tricky to describe."
Michelle scratched his head, showing a complicated expression on his face, while Mona and Chenier looked coldly on.
Seeing this, Luo An was puzzled and reached for the text Michelle handed to him.
The content of the text were several passages that Pranay O’Dell, Rekasha’s father, had written and then erased.
Because he feared his days were numbered, Pranay O’Dell decided to eliminate a group of people, allowing his daughter Rekasha to smoothly take control of those companies and enterprises in the future.
If he were to fire these people directly, it could affect the company’s operations and morale in various ways, and compensation would have to be paid.
Thus, Pranay O’Dell turned to an old friend of his, one of the three middle-aged women who stayed at a villa after the party ended.
The older woman was named Krista, who had family ties with the Audel family and once had a not-so-clear relationship with Pranay O’Dell when she was young.
Pranay’s plan was not complicated; he had Krista offer high salaries to poach employees he wanted to fire to her companies.
After these people chose to switch jobs, Pranay effortlessly fired them.
Among these individuals were some who had non-compete agreements with Pranay O’Dell’s company, so he planned to sue those who had left for breach of contract and demand compensation at a later date.
"..."x3
After reading the contents of the text, Winslow snorted coldly without a word, while Reesi stared in disbelief, flabbergasted by the realization that such a scheme was even possible.
Luo An tossed the text aside, his face full of emotion as well; it’s no wonder that in a capitalist country, Pranay O’Dell, this billionaire, was truly a standout in a capitalist society.
"So..."
Picking up the text Luo An had tossed aside, Reesi looked down at it seriously, her face showing a strange expression:
"Could the murderer in this case be a group of people who have been duped by Pranay O’Dell and Krista?
Is this a case of revenge?"
"Maybe."
Luo An was noncommittal; he handed over the login credentials he obtained from high school student Jesse to Mona, saying:
"Give Henry Fifty thousand dollars so that he can fake illness on the night of the crime, tricking his mother Belinda to leave the villa and go home. The person who did this is likely to be connected to those who broke into the villa that night.
Here are Henry’s chat records, Mona, try to find out the real identity of the other party."
"No problem."
Mona took the login credentials from Henry and immediately started tapping away on the keyboard with her fingers.
At this point, the clock showed it was 6 PM. Reesi called the hotel’s room service to order food, while Luo An and the others continued to analyze the clues in the case around the whiteboard.
Looking at the photos of the victims on the whiteboard, Luo An suddenly pointed at Ao Na, the maid suspected of poisoning, and asked:
"Chenier, have you found anything on that woman?"
"Only some basic information."
Chenier turned around, pulled out a folder, opened it and began to read:
"Ao Na, 33 years old, parents in Arizona, she is unmarried, has no boyfriend, her financial situation is average, with no anomalies in her consumption records and bank account."
Luo An thought for a moment, then asked:
"What about Ao Na’s online records? Is there anything off about her posts and the people she interacts with?"
"The online world’s Ao Na is very ordinary."
Chenier explained:
"Ao Na seldom expresses her own views online; she spends most of her time browsing shopping pages."
In terms of social media, Ao Na barely had any presence; she seemed more traditional, disliking those guys who boast about themselves online, and many men who applied to befriend her were rejected by Ao Na.
However, Ao Na’s spending records showed that for the past six months, every Wednesday night after work, she would visit a coffee shop in the southwest part of Las Vegas and get a coffee to go.
But there was no surveillance near that coffee shop, and the service staff inside only knew that after Ao Na bought something, she would leave by turning left, not knowing where she went, and we couldn’t trace it either.
Hearing this, Winslow fell silent for a few seconds, then frowned and said:
"Why does it feel like this woman is hiding herself, or avoiding something?"
"I have that feeling too."
As Winslow finished speaking, Reesi, who had just ordered the meal, came over, nodding repeatedly:
"Ao Na is not bad-looking, has a good figure, and doesn’t lack men chasing her, but her love life has always been a blank slate.
There’s only one possibility for this situation, the presence of a man making her evade a love life."
Luo An didn’t say anything, and Chenier turned her head in confusion:
"Why can’t it be because Ao Na likes women?"
"Because she’s not that kind of person."
With hands on her hips, Reesi chuckled confidently:
"Believe me, I could tell at a glance, Ao Na is definitely not a Lesbian."
...
Without waiting for Luo An and others to comment, Mona, who had been busy on the side, suddenly raised her hand and loudly said:
"Guys, I’ve found out who the guy is who was chatting online with Henry and gave him fifty thousand dollars."
Hearing this, the five people including Luo An quickly got up and gathered around Mona, looking down at the computer screen, which showed a neat-looking white young man.
Mona pointed to the computer and introduced:
"Petro, 23 years old, never went to college, his family situation is so-so, currently unemployed."
"He doesn’t look like someone who could fork out fifty thousand dollars."
Luo An commented, then asked:
"Can you trace where that fifty thousand dollars came from?"
"Of course, it’s very simple, and there’s an unexpected find as well."
Mona’s fingers danced on the keyboard, and soon, next to Petro’s photo, she brought up the photos of two other men.
Both were white, but older, looking at least thirty something.
"The big-bearded guy on the left is Daryll, the tattooed guy on the right is Hubert, they’re both the same age, 42 this year."
Mona, pointing to the photos of the two middle-aged white men, continued:
"Their fathers were neighbors, on good terms, and Daryll and Hubert grew up together, went to the same high school, dropped out together, and enlisted in the military together.
They left the military at different times, but immediately gathered together after, Petro is their comrade’s son.
The records show that the three of them currently live together, Petro is unemployed, Hubert and Daryll co-own an auto repair shop that’s about to go bankrupt, and that fifty thousand dollars was transferred from an account registered to Daryll."
"That’s not all."
Just as Mona’s words ended, Michelle on the side also found a clue, she loudly said looking at her own computer:
"The two days before and after the villa incident, that auto repair shop coincidentally closed down for two days.
And their regular daily expenses also ceased during those two days."
"Quite a coincidental closure timing, and they also own an auto repair shop and have military backgrounds."
Luo An stood straight, patted Mona and Michelle on the shoulders, a grin on his face, and asked:
"Where are these three gentlemen now? It seems like they didn’t pay taxes on this fifty thousand dollars, we should go and have a simple discussion with them about the tax issue."
