Chapter 662: Chapter 306: Three-Person Tactics

The moment the stick hit the ground, several residents present felt as if something within their souls had died.

Only Zoloa stood there, staring at the stick in a daze.

After the Green Forest fighter swatted the stick away in a flash, he paused for a moment—and that pause saved Doctor Schultz’s life. Schultz stumbled backward, barely managing to stay on his feet.

The Green Forest fighter was a bit puzzled, "You didn’t kill that Silver Transmission Shaft, did you? Yet you still dare to stand before us brandishing that stick? Why? What’s the point?"

Doctor Schultz’s decorative lighting on his face flickered. If he had still been a Homo sapiens, this moment could have been described as "stunned speechless."

He didn’t understand why the Green Forest fighter wasn’t intimidated.

Initially, Doctor Schultz and the old Town Mayor were dubious about "this stick can scare off the Green Forest," but after the same story had been repeated for three full years, and when the Green Forest truly hadn’t shown up for three years, they seemed to have believed it themselves.

Yet, upon suddenly witnessing this scene, his train of thought was interrupted for a second.

But the Green Forest fighter didn’t plan to continue pondering. Mental illness wasn’t uncommon. Perhaps this fellow was just uniquely insane. He advanced, swinging a chainsaw sword.

In an instant, Schultz had an arm severed.

This smart and respectable man from miles around howled and writhed in pain.

But at the same time, a dark shadow appeared right behind the Green Forest fighter.

Yuki crouched low, running with a bent body. This posture was not in line with human anatomy; if he had been a Homo sapiens, he wouldn’t have been able to exert force, nor would such a move come naturally to a Human Martial Artist.

However, an experienced Martial Artist would know how advantageous it was to "rely on a crouched movement to evade the enemy’s line of sight."

To many, it seemed like Yuki appeared instantaneously.

The Green Forest leader wasn’t a hundred percent prosthetic; there was still a large original section around his neck. He had been recently recruited by the Righteousness Assembly, a Green Forest gang that had just been defeated. Possessing considerable external strength talent, he received the leader’s Martial Arts Algorithm and part of the Experience Accumulation, but the parts needed for his transformation were not immediately available.

Yuki’s fist struck like a cannon, sending a spray of blood and flesh into the air.

The Green Forest fighter fell to the ground with a thud, landing on top of Doctor Schultz and triggering another round of howling.

Yuki, however, paid no attention to this person he once revered in his childhood. Raising his bloody fist, he turned and said to the Green Forest lackeys, "Damn Green Forest..."

At that moment, Yuki would have liked to sing a song to make a better impact. But in recent years, his focus hadn’t been on singing, recording only a few songs. Most of those songs were quite "rebellious," exposing his Heroic characteristics if sung.

Yuki had no choice but to mimic Xiang Shan, pointing his fist towards the sky, "Are you... ready to pay with your lives?"

—Tsk, what a lame line...

Although Yuki felt his "performance style" wasn’t flamboyant enough, it was sufficient to enrage the surrounding Green Forest lackeys. They activated their chainsaw swords in unison, and the sound of their mechanical high-speed rotation merged into one.

On the edge of the town, Tajibur also received the news that "a Martial Artist is causing trouble." He was somewhat astonished, "A Martial Artist? That’s not right, is it? If there was a Martial Artist here, would the defenses be set up so foolishly?"

He pondered in place for a moment, then shook his head, "Never mind, let’s go check it out." He instructed the nearby lackeys to keep an eye on those few he had marked as having Talent, then quickly headed towards the combat.

However, as he passed a stretch of ruins, suddenly, dust burst forth like an explosion.

Liu Ri leaped out.

This was a classic tactic where a few elite warriors confronted numerous regular soldiers. It required at least three Martial Artists, one to face the cannon fodder head-on, drawing all the attention, while another would flank and scatter them.

Then the third person would take this opportunity to decapitate the commanding officers or protectees of the enemy.

This tactic is said to date back to the early days of wars of chivalry and is considered a classic.

Typically, the Martial Artist tasked with "drawing fire" would need the thickest armor, while "decapitation" would require the highest level of Martial Arts.

However, for the temporary team of Yuki, Liu Ri, and Han Zhun, they also had to consider the issue of "modification rate."

None of the three were one hundred percent fully modified.

Han Zhun had the lowest coverage rate of External Armor and his Martial Arts were not the highest, so he could only perform the safest task of "flanking the unmatched cannon fodder."

Yuki and Liu Ri took on the tasks of "drawing fire" and "decapitation," respectively.

At that moment, Liu Ri was only two meters away from Tajibur. He raised his large-caliber rifle and fired a shot with a lift of his hand.

Given the close distance between them, Tajibur had not fully reacted. He managed to crouch down in time.

The bullet grazed him, then leaped away, carrying off one of his Prosthetic Eyes. His evasive maneuver also forced him into an extremely disadvantageous Stance.

Liu Ri immediately sprinted forward and delivered a front kick, his heel smashing into Tajibur’s knee. His rifle was reloaded in an instant, and he fired a second shot.

After taking the first shot, Tajibur was somewhat dazed. But he was an veteran Martial Artist after all, his algorithm-controlled Prosthetic Body adopting theoretically the most beneficial defensive Stance. This allowed him, fortunately, to deflect the second bullet with his External Armor.

After that, the battle finally entered his turn.

Even though he had lost an eye, and his body was in a poor angle to attack.

But at this very moment, he knew which part of his body, if attacked by the Gunner, would yield the highest benefit.

So Tajibur, disregarding his own Stance, kicked out at a position in his blind spot.

Then, he felt his foot hit something.

Liu Ri abandoned the rifle and closed in two steps, taking advantage of Tajibur’s failure to recover his Stance to continue his assault.

A lower-level Martial Artist, when facing a higher-level one, has only one chance: "to exploit a flaw with the initiative and then launch a continuous attack." The moment a Martial Artist is "hit," is the time when the Martial Arts Algorithm has the fewest choices and least variation.

"Waiting at leisure" belongs to the "Master Style."

However, Liu Ri had not studied Martial Studies for sufficient years, and Xiang Shan could not always be imparting martial knowledge to him. Perhaps his understanding of Martial Studies was more accurate at that moment, but this theory had yet to transform into combat ability.

Although Tajibur was completely suppressed, Liu Ri was unable to kill him instantly.

Meanwhile, the lackeys of Green Forest had also reacted. These guys all drew out their Chainsaw Swords and aimed directly at Liu Ri.
