Chapter 1586: Chapter 1586: Unexpected
"Mr. River!"
Julius Reed dashed forward, lifting Harry River instantly!
"Are you okay?"
No one expected that Harry River, who was just cheerful moments ago, would suddenly pass out.
"I’m fine..."
Harry River opened his eyes, looking bitter: "I suddenly felt like my heart stopped beating, and then fainted. I’m fine now, but still a bit dazed."
He struggled to stand.
Surprisingly, he was drenched in cold sweat.
"Could it be something in the food..." Julius Reed turned, looking at Elaenor Wood.
"Impossible! Didn’t you two eat as well?" Harry River bent down, gasping heavily: "You two ate earlier without any issues, then I ate. If there was a problem, it would have been with you two."
"I forgot to tell you." Julius Reed paused, then spoke: "I’m immune to all poisons."
"Me too." Elaenor Wood nodded from the side.
One is the immortal sacred lord, the other is the Medicine King Valley’s genius Medicine God.
Only Harry River is an ordinary person.
"You two..." Harry River’s eyes were filled with anger!
This is deception!
Deceiving me!
He closed his eyes, feeling the changes within his body.
But there were no changes.
Whether it was youthful vigor or the fainting spell, his body showed no change.
Harry River didn’t feel his strength increase, nor the vibrancy of youth.
The only change was his appearance.
"If you’re okay, we should leave early." Julius Reed glanced at the cave, muttering: "I always feel like there’s something sinister here."
After speaking, he walked out quickly.
Elaenor Wood followed closely.
Seeing the two leaving, Harry River immediately followed.
But when he reached the place where he fainted, he clung to the wall in intense pain!
"What’s wrong?" Julius Reed immediately turned back, once again supporting Harry River, his hand on his pulse. "There’s nothing wrong!"
Harry River’s pulse was steady, despite his intense pain, his breath was incredibly calm.
"I’m fine! I’m fine!" Harry River gasped, standing up to take another step.
"Hiss..."
When his body left the cave, he almost fainted!
"Something’s wrong!"
Julius Reed grabbed his shoulder, continuing to drag him outside.
"No! No!"
Harry River clutched his throat, trying to breathe!
But couldn’t inhale any air!
Seeing his face turn purple, Julius Reed dared not move forward, quickly dragging him back into the cave.
"Whew!"
The instant he entered the cave, Harry River was like a fish entering a pond, greedily breathing air.
"Something’s odd." Elaenor Wood stood at the cave’s mouth, pondering for a moment, then spoke: "It seems Harry River can’t cross this threshold. Once he crosses, he struggles to breathe."
As he spoke, he prepared to test his hypothesis.
"No! Let me rest." Harry River leaned against the table, his gaze towards the cave entrance full of fear!
"We have to try!" Before he agreed, Julius Reed lifted Harry River with one hand, walking to the cave entrance.
As long as he didn’t cross the entrance, Harry River had no issues.
But once outside the cave, Harry River’s eyes rolled back.
"I seem to understand what Pranay Martinez meant." Julius Reed placed Harry River on the stone table, his expression serious. "Opening the seal doesn’t mean I shattered the snow with a sword. Your appearance made him find a successor."
"How is it possible!" Harry River’s face turned pale.
"Remember what he said? Pranay Martinez came here because he was captured, causing the cave’s original owner to leave." Julius Reed furrowed his brows but patted Harry River’s shoulder, comforting him: "Don’t panic, capture someone here, then everything will be fine?"
"Don’t try to comfort me." Harry River looked at the entrance, his eyes full of sorrow.
He understood now.
"I predicted to meet you, to drink and feast. But now..." Harry River turned away.
A table full of drinks and food.
If he knew this was the place for drinking and feasting, he would rather be a beggar.
Living freely in Town.
Time slowly passed.
A sleepless night.
The next morning, Julius Reed and Elaenor Wood tested again, finding that Harry River couldn’t leave the cave at all.
After discussion, they decided Harry River would temporarily stay.
Julius Reed and Elaenor Wood went out to find a solution and to retrieve the Broken Heaven from Devlin.
They would frequently visit the cave.
"Let’s hope this isn’t goodbye forever." Harry River stood at the cave entrance, watching them leave.
He couldn’t accept it, but had to face reality.
Pranay Martinez left.
Harry River stayed.
This cave seemed always in need of someone.
"Sigh!" Harry River sat cross-legged in the cave, feeling lonely, as if years were passing by!
Staring at the stone wall!
He was near collapse!
Luckily, he had a pen and paper, something to do.
Sitting where Pranay Martinez sat, Harry River picked up the pen, deciding to write something to pass the time.
"I’ll write a biography about the Sacred Lord." Harry River shook his head with a smile, writing ’Son-in-law of a Noble Family’.
But just after writing the first sentence, footsteps echoed in the cave.
"I knew the Sacred Lord and the medicine seller wouldn’t abandon me!" Harry River immediately put down the pen, preparing to greet.
But when he reached the entrance, he found the footsteps weren’t coming from the entrance.
They came from where those people disappeared!
Harry River’s heart was shocked!
If those people returned, and he had no help, wouldn’t he be exposed?
A dead end!
He turned around!
And saw not those thirty-six people.
But a woman.
"Hmm? Changed personnel?"
The woman, surprised to see Harry River, slightly bowed: "Greetings, Mountain Lord."
Mountain Lord?
Harry River’s eyes shifted, knowing he had to not be exposed.
Seeing the woman’s respectful attitude, she almost certainly feared his identity.
"Hmm." Harry River pretended to be profound, sitting back in Pranay Martinez’s position.
From the woman’s tone, it seemed changing personnel was common.
"Mountain Lord, our Ghost Martial Tribe is severely injured, what should we do now?" The woman kneeled on the ground, hands folded on her chest: "Please enlighten us."
Enlighten?
Harry River couldn’t provide any enlightenment!
If he spoke, he’d certainly be exposed.
But Pranay Martinez captured him, making his position here rightful!
Thinking this, Harry River became slightly more confident.
"Explain to me in detail." He picked up his pen, continuing to write.
Only by being aloof, can one instill fear.
Induce fear!
"I have two paths. Either cooperate with the Undead Tribe, or with Pendleton." The woman answered sincerely.
"Life always has unexpected events. As you said, there might not only be two paths." Harry River responded cryptically, completely acting mysterious.
But the woman’s eyes lit up: "Mountain Lord, you’re truly insightful. My sister is with Demarco Mount. She controls the current Sacred Lord, cooperating with her would be very effective! But that would be like asking a tiger for its hide! The risk is too great."
"One must risk small losses to achieve big gains! In this world, there are no eternal enemies." The more Harry River listened, the more confused he became, but he had to continue acting mystically.
"I understand!"
The woman bowed deeply, backing away.
...
Outside the cave!
Julius Reed and Elaenor Wood walked amidst the flying snow, when suddenly the phone rang.
"Sacred Lord, can I talk to you?"
Lillian Tompson’s voice came from the receiver.
