Chapter 1580: A Glimpse

Chapter 1580: Chapter 1580: A Glimpse

When the voices were heard, Harry River’s mind that had just relaxed, was once again on edge!

He had come here countless times to check on the placement of the Break Sky Knife.

But not once did he detect any bears here, much less sense that there were people.

If there really were, why hadn’t he encountered them in decades?

Why all at once, when he came for the knife, did he encounter them?

"Dreaming in broad daylight, aren’t you afraid of bumping into ghosts?" Julius Reed was instead quite pleased.

No matter how intelligent the King Kong Bear might be, it was always just a beast.

Humans and beasts cannot communicate.

And finally, there was a living person before him.

"You there, how can you speak so rudely. You’ve invaded my territory, killed my bear, yet still dare to..." The man’s words cut off, his expression shifting.

He retreated several steps, surveying the environment.

His expression changed from surprise to excitement!

"I’ve been released?"

The man looked up, shouting at the sky, "I’m finally out! I’ve gained freedom!"

His voice carried a tone of ecstatic joy!

It was as if he hadn’t realized he was freed from constraints.

"Calm yourself." Julius Reed opened his mouth, pulling the man back to reality from his joy.

"Who are you?" The man gradually resumed his carefree demeanor. "Why have you come here?"

He placed a hand by his mouth and gently blew a whistle.

The King Kong Bear obediently retreated, circling around him.

"How about introducing yourself first?" Julius Reed raised the Break Sky Knife, pointing it at the man: "You’re a newcomer."

"Newcomer?" The man pointed to his face, finding it quite amusing. "This place naturally belongs to me. You’re the uninvited guests."

Having said that, he couldn’t help but look around, wanting to confirm if he really had left the forbidden place.

"Let’s have an introduction, then." Julius Reed spoke again.

The man before him dressed in a way that was modern but also carried a sense of age.

As if his garb resembled that of the eighties or nineties.

In the icy terrain, the man donned a military coat but still couldn’t hide his slender physique.

"I am Pranay Martinez, the guardian of the forbidden place, having been here for thirty-eight years." The man hesitated before speaking: "Now, it’s your turn."

"Sorry, I’ve never heard your name." Julius Reed brandished the long knife, stepping towards the man: "I asked for your name because I dislike killing nameless people."

"Are you sure you can kill me?" The man showed no fear, instead grinning at Julius Reed: "You’re too confident!"

"I’m always confident!" Julius Reed’s figure flashed, leaving behind a residual shadow!

When he appeared again, the knife in his hand was already at the man’s throat.

The icy cold sting made Pranay Martinez shiver involuntarily.

"Are you playing for real?" Pranay Martinez gently placed a hand on the Break Sky Knife, trying to push it away.

"Speak, why are you here?" Julius Reed pressed with the Break Sky Knife, shouting sternly.

It appeared that the King Kong Bears obediently listened to the man.

Since this was the case, to uncover the secrets of the King Kong Bears, they needed to pry open the man’s mouth!

"Why not first answer why you’re here?" Pranay Martinez’s figure flashed explosively, disappearing on the spot!

Only leaving behind a piece of black cloth.

"Huh?" Julius Reed remarked in surprise: "You have skills, I underestimated you."

The endless paths!

This being the path of concealment.

Practitioners of the concealment path were extremely rare!

Firstly, the concealment path demanded extremely high physical resilience from a Martial Artist!

Secondly, the concealment path is extremely difficult to practice; many spend a lifetime unable to truly enter the concealment path.

Yet the man before him turned out to be adept in the concealment path?

Using a piece of black cloth, he escaped from under Julius Reed’s knife.

The King Kong Bears seemed to have received some kind of command, all turning and running straight into the depths of the cave.

At the wide cavern entrance, only three people remained.

Swish!

A whistling sound pierced the air!

Julius Reed swiftly turned, striking out with a palm!

Bam!

A shadow moved through the air, falling to the ground.

"Not bad, to withstand a move from me, you’re not an ordinary person." Pranay Martinez nodded, clasping his hands behind his back, looking at Julius Reed: "Go now, I won’t kill you today. If it weren’t for your accidental break of the seal, I might have stayed inside until death."

"But don’t blame me for not warning you, if you speak of this, you’re likely to die a miserable death. As for these King Kong Bears, if you’ve killed them, so be it. Leave swiftly!"

Pranay Martinez spoke solemnly, his face dark.

"So it is! I’ve wondered why every time I came, there was no incident. By chance, this time it’s disaster after disaster! Turns out you shattered the seal!" Harry River stomped in anger.

He thought it was his own oversight.

Now after hearing Pranay Martinez speak, he understood what was going on.

"I dislike being threatened." Julius Reed didn’t take the chance to retreat; instead, he spoke coldly: "My favorite thing is forcing difficult situations."

With that, he reached out and grabbed!

Swish!

Another piece of black cloth!

Julius Reed held the Break Sky Knife, closed his eyes.

Then!

He suddenly opened them!

The Break Sky Knife was held directly in front of him!

Bam!

Pranay Martinez appeared again, striking with a palm, hitting directly against the Break Sky Knife!

"Can you foresee my position?" Pranay Martinez ceased his attack, standing before Julius Reed, full of doubt.

He felt assured that his skill was exceptional!

But why could this man accurately predict?

"Is it difficult?" Julius Reed slashed the knife down!

Yet his hand instantly loosened!

Then!

He leapt forward and delivered three consecutive palm strikes!

Turning back to his previous position, he caught the Break Sky Knife in his hand.

Thud!

Pranay Martinez fell to the ground, a trace of blood creeping from the corner of his mouth.

"Who exactly are you?" This was the first time he realized the opponent was too strong!

"Who I am isn’t important; what’s important is that you tell me everything you know." Julius Reed crouched down, looking at Pranay Martinez lying on the ground: "Why are you here, why do the King Kong Bears follow your orders, and what is this so-called seal?"

This was his inner confusion.

Now that he had the chance, how could he not probe thoroughly.

"What are you going to do?" Pranay Martinez’s eyes carried a hint of caution.

"Just asking for some information." Julius Reed patted his shoulder, appraising: "I respect concealment path practitioners greatly."

Silence.

Pranay Martinez glanced at Elaenor Wood, then at Harry River.

He seemed to be outnumbered!

"I came here by coincidence." Pranay Martinez got up from the ground, unable to stop coughing: "More than thirty years ago, as a young man, I didn’t fear defiance, wandering around the mountains here. Nothing happened at the time, but one day I climbed to the summit and was captured into this cave, beginning a life without sunlight."

"Who captured you?" Julius Reed looked at the man’s back.

According to Pranay Martinez, there should be someone else who captured him.

"Gone." Pranay Martinez seemed to pick up on his confusion, impatiently spoke: "Just after capturing me, that person left. Whether alive or dead, nobody knows. The rule here is, to leave, you must find a replacement for yourself! Otherwise, you remain until death."
