Chapter 1476: Chapter 1476: The Traitor

“Is this all?”

Outside the ancestral hall.

Julius Reed looked at the engineer in front of him, who had laid out all the gathered data piece by piece.

Then, he played it one by one.

Of course, both Julius Reed and Gabriel Young were wearing headphones to listen.

Some things, if overheard by outsiders, could have undesirable consequences.

“This is all?” After listening to all the audio clips, Julius Reed was certain that the components listed in the file weren’t operational at all times.

For instance, during sleep or inactivity, or when no voices were present, the components wouldn’t function.

This significantly reduced energy consumption and transmission difficulty.

But the thing inside the spirit tablet had a large memory capacity, so why was there only this little data?

However, even with so little, it was enough to be deadly!

It included the matter with Micah Will as well as the incident where Julius Reed killed Xander Cook—everything had been recorded.

“According to our speculation, this small base station must have been replaced recently. Not to mention the spirit tablet looks new, with almost no dust or fading, even the components inside are brand new.”

The Young Family’s engineer pushed his glasses up and explained, “Through our disassembly, we deduced that this base station uses a weak signal to search for another device and receive messages. Then, during late-night hours, it transmits the received messages one by one at high frequency. So far, it seems no messages have been transmitted since it started operating.”

“Are you sure?”

Julius Reed asked.

“I’m sure!”

The engineer nodded affirmatively.

“Good. That means this thing hasn’t exposed anything about us yet.” Julius Reed instructed the engineer to casually find some explicit audio from the internet, clear out the small base station’s data within the spirit tablet, and load the explicit audio in its place.

The watch was already broken and held no value anymore.

Next step, they’d lay a trap and wait for their prey.

“Lift the signal blocker. And make sure to keep your mouths shut about this. If anyone leaks this, they might as well reserve their own spirit tablet first.”

Julius Reed pulled Gabriel Young toward the crystal hall.

“I’m so tired. Shall we sleep together?” He yawned, teasing Gabriel Young.

“You… be serious!” Gabriel Young’s face flushed red. Her mind was in turmoil. How could he choose such a time?

“Come on. I had garlic chives with scrambled eggs tonight—wasn’t bad. By the way, is the Young Family’s bed sturdy or not?”

Julius Reed didn’t care about the murderous glares from the Young Family martial artists, speaking utterly casually.

“Very sturdy! And soundproof too!” Gabriel Young puffed her cheeks, glaring at him, and couldn’t help but lightly pinch him.

Doesn’t he know to avoid people?

How could anyone talk about such things openly?

Before long, the two entered Gabriel Young’s bedroom.

Five minutes later, Julius Reed, shirtless, walked to the window and pulled the curtains closed.

Then, the lights went out.

“Wow, didn’t expect that…” The Young Family martial artists outside looked at the darkened room, their eyes tinged with envy.

“Disperse! And remember to keep this a secret!”

They reminded each other before going their separate ways.

Dawn had not yet arrived.

Ten minutes later.

A Young Family martial artist returned to his room, pulled out his phone, and started dialing.

But after several tries, the other side didn’t answer.

He attempted again, but there was still no response.

“Situation’s blown. Miss suspects you’re still alive. Additionally, the base station in the ancestral hall is completely exposed, and they’re laying a trap.”

After typing out this message, the Young Family martial artist pressed send.

“Didn’t think the man Gabriel Young found was this formidable!” He sighed, wiping the cold sweat from his forehead.

Bam!

Just then!

The room door was kicked open with a violent crash!

“Who?!” The Young Family martial artist turned around in alarm, but before he could react—

Pow!

A fist slammed into him!

He collided with the wall, feeling like all the bones in his body had shattered!

He was, after all, a Grandmaster!

Yet before the assailant, he couldn’t even put up a fight.

“As I thought, a traitor.” Julius Reed stomped on the martial artist’s head, sneering, “You hid well!”

“What nonsense are you talking about? I, Sebastian Martinez, have been loyal to the Young Family for twenty years! How dare you accuse me of betrayal! I want to see the Family Head!”

Sebastian Martinez shouted with all his might. But when he saw the intruder’s face, his heart sank!

“You’re not…”

“I should be fooling around with women, right?” Julius Reed sneered coldly, “Sorry, I’m not interested in women. I’m only interested in traitors!”

Snap!

As he spoke, he applied pressure with his foot!

Sebastian Martinez broke into a cold sweat, his face turning pitch-black!

“Miss! I, Sebastian Martinez, could die, but I’m innocent! I’ve been loyal to the Young Family for twenty years…”

“Enough.” Gabriel Young’s voice came from the doorway.

“The signal blocker hasn’t been deactivated. Surveillance hasn’t been stopped either. The call you made and the message you sent, I saw everything.” She walked up to Sebastian Martinez, her expression as cold as frost. “Yes, you’ve been loyal to the Young Family. But you were never loyal to me! And I am the Young Family’s Family Head!”

In this moment, Gabriel Young resembled an ice queen.

Cold, yet commanding immense respect and fear.

“I…” Sebastian Martinez was stunned.

“So, you all set me up!” He suddenly burst out laughing, glaring daggers at Gabriel Young. “Want the truth, do you?”

“Desperately.” Julius Reed answered on her behalf.

“Then let’s go to hell together!” Sebastian Martinez started laughing maniacally!

But before he could finish laughing, Julius Reed bent down suddenly, grabbed his collar, and delivered a punch!

Pow!

His teeth!

Every single one of them!

Knocked out!

Among them, two were distinctly colored and obviously toxic!

“Sorry, I’ve seen this trick too many times. You’re not dying today.” Julius Reed picked him up like a chick!

Bang!

One punch to the gut!

Bang!

Another punch!

To the knee!

Soon after, both of Sebastian Martinez’s arms were broken!

“Talk or not?”

Julius Reed threw him to the ground, wiped his hands, and sighed, “Why make it so hard on yourself.”

“Give it up!” Sebastian Martinez, bleeding from his nose and mouth, snarled viciously, “You won’t get anything out of me!”

“Sebastian Martinez!” Gabriel Young couldn’t help but approach, glaring furiously at him. “Haven’t I treated you well these past few years in the Young Family? Haven’t these years swayed you at all?”

Sebastian Martinez closed his eyes, refusing to speak.

He chose silence.

“You…” Gabriel Young was heartbroken!

Betrayal!

More betrayal!

“I heard there’s a gang of scoundrels in the northern part of the city who have a particular fondness for men,” Julius Reed casually mentioned. Sebastian Martinez’s body convulsed violently upon hearing this!

“Conveniently, they’re staying here at the Young Family. Originally, I brought them in for Micah, but I didn’t need them.” Julius Reed crouched down and smiled at Sebastian Martinez, “Congratulations!”

Then he straightened his expression and said, “Go bring those scoundrels over. Treat this stubborn man here with the hospitality he deserves.”

Finishing his words, Julius Reed led Gabriel Young out the door.

“Are you sure this will work?” Gabriel Young asked with some disgust. After all, such tactics were…

“Don’t worry.” Julius Reed looked up at the moon, “Even if Sebastian Martinez were as strong as the Nine Heavens, he wouldn’t hold out.”
