Chapter 1464: Chapter 1464 Too Fast

“There is a path to paradise, yet you refuse to take it; there is no door to hell, yet you break your way in!”

Damari Tennyson waved his hand, and the disciples of Lowell Tennyson swiftly withdrew.

In a duel between masters of this caliber, they could only be cannon fodder, completely useless.

South Ring City Road was sparsely populated.

The entire area was part of Swimming City’s industrial district.

Following the South Ring City Road deeper in leads to the Ghost Market.

Damari chose this path for two reasons: one, to facilitate his escape; and two, to avoid the watchful eyes of the City Lord’s Mansion.

But unexpectedly, he was still followed.

“How did you find me?” He drew his sword.

Between masters, there was no need for idle chatter.

Words were spoken through the blade!

“I am the City Lord of Swimming City. I have the authority to review all the surveillance in the city! Was it difficult to track down your petty moves?”

Ian Jorden lightly caressed his long knife with his left hand, a flash of hostility on his face!

“Cunning coward! Today, I’ll see who dares tarnish my reputation, kill Xander Cook, and frame Hagan Marsh!”

Whoosh!

With these words, he charged forward!

His steps were powerful, his moves vigorous, and the long knife in his hand cut through the air, emitting a sharp sound!

“You want to meet me? You’re not worthy!” Damari sliced horizontally with his sword, unleashing all the strength in his body as it collided with the long knife!

Clang!

A burst of sparks lit up.

The scent of burning metal permeated the air.

Ian’s long knife had a notch carved into it, and Damari’s Azure Edge sword was also slightly damaged.

“Impressive strength, but today, only one of us will leave alive!” Ian raised his knife, battle intent blazing in his eyes!

“Magnificent! Regardless of who dies today, this battle will be remembered!” Damari tore off his black clothing in one motion and removed his veil!

Revealing his true face.

“I have always admired strength the most! When I first came to Swimming City, I encountered a peerless master and comprehended a new set of sword techniques! Today, I offer it to you!”

Damari took a deep breath, his gaze blazing!

The energy within him surged as his sword emitted a sorrowful cry!

“Good! Good! Good!” Ian nodded repeatedly, uttering the word ‘good’ three times: “If you are defeated, I will only kill you—I will not dishonor you! It’s a pity you chose to stand against me!”

With that, he stepped forward!

His long knife came crashing down with the force to split Uriah Mount!

A knife is wild!

A sword is cold!

“Central-star Nine Sword!” Damari whispered, thrusting his sword forward with lightning speed!

In that instant!

The sword split into nine afterimages!

From different angles, they pierced toward Ian!

Sword Qi surged!

And the knife surged relentlessly forward!

Clang!

The knife and sword clashed!

Damari staggered back several steps, blood trickling from the corner of his mouth.

The unwavering and vigorous knife techniques, devoid of deceptions, relied purely on brute strength and overwhelming openness, disrupting the energy within him.

Meanwhile, Ian’s shoulder had been struck by three swords!

One knife broke six swords!

But three swords remained.

He endured them! Barely!

Fortunately, the savage knife energy had shattered the sword Qi, leaving him only lightly injured.

“Stronger than I imagined.” Ian lowered his head slightly, eyeing his wound, then abruptly struck it with his palm!

The wound quickly staunched.

If left bleeding, another few rounds of combat might end with him collapsing into unconsciousness or death.

“No wonder you’re the City Lord; I underestimated you before,” Damari coughed lightly, clutching his chest with his left hand, taking deep breaths!

Pain!

The immense force delivered through the sword had traveled directly to every bone in his body.

A weaker person would have had their bones shattered and died instantly!

Even someone as formidable as Damari Tennyson, the number one under Chris Tennysons, was struggling to hold on.

To defeat the City Lord, it might require the Sect Leader to step in personally.

In the distance.

Julius Reed and Gabriel Young quietly appeared behind a wall.

Gabriel still hadn’t snapped out of that sweetness lingering in her heart, her gaze repeatedly landing on the unassuming, dull wristwatch on her wrist. From time to time, she would take out a handkerchief to gently wipe it.

Was this an engagement token?

Could it be…

A mutual exchange?

But isn’t it normal for others to exchange diamond rings?

Diamond rings are too cliché!

She, Gabriel Young, was different from the other women.

A watch?

What does a watch symbolize?

It symbolizes time!

Could it be this man’s intention—to stay with her forever?

For the rest of his life, would it be her?

He’s so bad!

How could he understand women so well!

If she hadn’t realized the deeper meaning behind this gesture, would he think she was stupid?

Indeed!

They always say diamonds are eternal, but time is what’s truly precious.

A man willing to devote his time to a woman is truly a good man.

He’s different from other men.

Always so surprising, always striking deep into the soul.

“You brought me here…” Gabriel looked around at the desolate wasteland and abandoned construction sites.

A bit shy.

“To watch a fight.” Julius’s body was pressed against the wall, the angle just right to keep hidden, his eyes fixed on the duel in the street.

“Huh? Here?” Gabriel’s blush spread all the way to the root of her neck.

“Yeah! It has to be here—there are so many people in the city, what if they got discovered?” Julius began to regret bringing Gabriel along.

This woman really lacked common sense, huh?

If the City Lord and the assassin leader fought in the city center, wouldn’t it immediately become headline news?

When he first met Gabriel, he thought she was amazing.

Sharp, intelligent.

But after uncovering the Young Family’s situation, he realized this woman was tough and had endured much.

She had single-handedly shouldered the Young Family’s responsibilities, practiced martial arts in secret, and not only prevented the family’s collapse but also maintained an image of composure every day.

She lived a tiring life.

Yet recently, she seemed like a bit of an airhead.

Could it be that he’d been handling everything for her, leaving her too relaxed?

That wouldn’t do—he’d have to give her something to do in the future.

“I… I don’t think it’s proper… what if someone sees us…” Gabriel’s face flushed with embarrassment.

She was conservative at heart, and moreover, in this place…

“Lower your voice, don’t let them hear!”

Julius quickly warned.

Both the City Lord and Damari were top-notch masters; even the slightest disturbance would alert them.

Her face was so shy it seemed like water might drip from it.

“Mm, as long as we stay quiet, they won’t notice.” Julius was completely focused on watching the duel.

As he watched, he felt something wasn’t right.

The City Lord’s knife techniques—how could they resemble someone’s?

Suddenly, his eyes widened!

Ian Jorden!

Those knife techniques, they were identical to Ian Jorden’s!

Back when Ian was part of the Ten Thousand Mountain Alliance, he was Julius’s trusted companion. Julius recalled his old friend’s knife techniques deeply!
