Knights and Magic Wand -
Chapter 82 - 82 60 Lord's Court_3
82: Chapter 60: Lord’s Court_3 82: Chapter 60: Lord’s Court_3 Leon’s eyebrows arched.
He had never cared for kneeling, and certainly hadn’t arranged this display.
Those two lads…
were purely venting their personal anger, weren’t they?
Never mind.
“Criminal Boris, in the presence of all the subjects, I, Lord of Selva, now accuse you of multiple crimes.
First, gathering a mob to rob me and my companions.
Second, using sedatives to commit burglary.
Third, under the knowledge that an alert could have been sent to warn against an attack by the Kantadar people, you concealed information, effectively standing by as the massacre unfolded.”
As Leon spoke the initial accusations, the villagers simply listened in silence.
Yet as the third charge was made, the emotions of those who had lost family members suddenly boiled over like scalding water.
Some men, who had lost their entire family, were hot-tempered, hurling curses, and even pushing through the crowd to administer vigilante justice.
Boris’ pale lips trembled in fright.
“Silence!”
Leon frowned, lifting his iron-gloved fist, and with a loud thump, slammed it down onto the armrest.
Damn it, now he understood why judges and magistrates had a tradition of banging things in court.
But this bunch took everything too seriously—they hadn’t even heard the evidence yet, let alone proof, and they were ready to take matters into their own hands.
Several surviving youths hurriedly stepped forward to stop the angry villagers.
Watching the commotion, Lokhak rose from his seat.
He could relate to the shared anger but couldn’t let the trial Leon was conducting be interrupted, so he had no choice but to stand.
“!Quiet down——!!!”
The tall youth grasped his short sword hilt and shouted at the top of his lungs at the crowd.
The roar of his voice was incredibly loud.
Sitting next to Lokhak, Leon was startled.
He didn’t even know the kid could yell with such a booming voice.
But?
Had Lokhak always been this loud?
Leon looked sideways with doubt, noticing the drastic change of voice from puberty.
Thanks to that bellow, the villagers, their emotions running rampant, finally came to their senses, realizing that seated before them were three Knight Masters.
Despite their youthful appearances, they were bona fide Noble Knights, and any disrespect towards them could cost someone their life.
The youths pushed the villagers, simmering with restrained anger, back into the crowd.
Seeing order was restored, Leon continued his attempt at the trial process.
“For the first charge, armed robbery, we have eye-witnesses Olivia, Hawk, Lokhak, Azeryan, and numerous villagers who saw you gathering your accomplices.
Do you have anything to say in your defense?” Leon asked Boris emotionlessly.
“No!
Don’t kill me, Mr.
Leon, I know I was wrong.
I was blinded that day and didn’t achieve anything, so please show me mercy,” Boris cried out, completely uncooperative.
“Sigh, I asked you to defend yourself, not to beg for mercy,” Leon said, massaging his forehead in frustration, realizing he’d have to walk through even this simple process himself.
“Never mind, you’re correct.
Your crime was forcibly stopped by Olivia; let’s just consider it an attempted robbery then.”
“Moving to the second charge, you entered a house at night and used a sedative to commit burglary, nearly succeeding.
The evidence, including the sedative, incense burner, and short sword, is all present.
Considering this method is nearly equivalent to forceful robbery, judging it as burglary is suitable.
Do you have any defense to offer?”
Among the crowd, a few surviving village girls began to pale as they connected the so-called incense burner with the incense Boris had so attentively gifted them previously.
Boris on the ground moved his lips, gradually stopping his pleas.
Surveying the contemptuous and hateful gazes of the villagers around him…he understood their intent.
They were slowly humiliating him, just to witness his desperate, disgraceful state, tormenting him to death.
Otherwise, defend himself?
They had seen with their own eyes him drugging those two boys.
What was left for him to argue?
Overwhelmed with fear, anger surged within Boris.
Struggling to his feet, he cursed furiously, “Hahaha…to hell with it, three little bastards from Seryan, think you’re noble because you’re dressed like that?”
Boris glared with bloodshot eyes at the surrounding villagers.
“And you lowly bastards, too bad those useless Kantadar didn’t kill all of you.
Just you wait, the day will come…hahaha, you’ll all die, there will be a day, and you will all die!
Just like…he said…..I’ll go down and wait for you!”
Leon looked at Boris, who was ranting like a madman, and let out a helpless sigh.
A meticulous trial was ultimately difficult to conduct in such rudimentary circumstances.
Since this man did not wish to maintain his dignity, Leon would have to help him save face.
