Chapter 783: Chapter 367: Words from a Foreign Land (Part 2)

Seeing the success of his strike, Leon raised his hand to pull, and the magic gun broke away from the pierced fuselage, swiftly flying toward its master like a flash of lightning.

Boom! An explosion of firelight and ammunition erupted across the wilderness.

As if from nowhere… Leon seemed to hear a faint “What can I say”.

He raised his hand to guide, and the swiftly returning thunder spear transformed into lightning, coiling around his right arm.

He could no longer care about the stability of the magic wand’s technique; lacking other means of long-range attack, Garner was almost the only method to destroy low-altitude targets.

He jumped back into the driver’s seat, enduring the dizziness from the loss of magic power, and took over the steering wheel. But just as he looked forward, he spotted several small black dots flying in from kilometers away, and Leon’s calmness sank again.

He regretted that Death Claw hadn’t come along; otherwise, they would have already ascended thousands of meters high to escape and would not be found so easily.

Olivia quickly returned to the gunner station, turning the machine gun forward, ready to intercept the incoming missiles.

As the enemy drew nearer, Leon drew the Netti Card, his mind racing, considering whether it was feasible to overload Garner with full power and use the Flying Thunder God Technique to shoot up into the sky and seize the helicopters by sheer force…

An unexpected change occurred; he suddenly saw several of the surrounding helicopters exploding in mid-air, turning into gleaming fireballs and scattering fragments across the sky.

“What’s going on?”

Leon blinked in surprise.

Olivia, who had been keeping a close eye on the approaching pursuers from the rooftop, caught sight of the trajectory that hit the helicopter from another direction.

A flying creature resembling a gigantic bird descended from a far direction, rapidly approaching.

Olivia frowned.

Was it an internal conflict among the enemies? …It didn’t seem like it.

The giant bird-like flying object came ever closer, as the girl cautiously aimed at the opponent. However, even when within the range that the strange bird destroyed the enemy’s helicopter, the opponent hadn’t launched any attack.

Leon relaxed slightly and quickly shouted to the rooftop, “That might not be an enemy, be careful not to fire accidentally.”

After speaking, he looked forward again.

The aircraft, which couldn’t be classified as either a fighter jet or any familiar type of biplane, rotated its engine nozzles on both sides and slowly descended vertically.

Leon couldn’t help but slow the car and came to a stop at a distance.

The side hatch of the plane opened, and several warriors wearing brown bulletproof armor, different from the bloodline soldiers, wearing half-covered helmets and holding guns, jumped out of the cabin. They formed a surrounding formation but did not point their guns at the military vehicle.

A warrior who seemed to be in a higher rank quickly approached the military vehicle.

“***! ****! …..”

Leon heard the distant loud babbling and couldn’t help but grimace with helplessness.

Buddy, we’re not from around here, we don’t understand you.

Evidently, neither Chinese, English, nor Japanese were the universal languages of the multi-universe. There were seven or eight different ethnic languages just on the Western Continent, not to mention yet another different plane beneath their feet.

However, judging from the opponent’s raised hand gestures, lifting the visor and waving palms in Leon’s direction, if there wasn’t a massive cognitive gap, it seemed like he was signaling no hostility.

More crucially, Leon noticed from the blue eyes and normal teeth revealed between the opponent’s open mouth that there were no characteristics of a vampire undead.

A normal living being?

There was no point in staying inside the car; aware of the anxious presence before him, Leon removed the rifle slung over his back, held it in his hand, and got out of the car.

Olivia jumped down from the car roof, holding her gun vigilantly.

The two were not afraid of a trap; the opponents seemed cautious, keeping a certain distance. However, to them, thirty meters was practically like face-to-face, and “close combat” would undoubtedly be more advantageous for themselves.

“…I don’t understand your language!” Leon, after stepping out, pointed to his mouth and shouted toward the opponent.

The warrior, looking no different from a human, obviously wasn’t a fool and upon hearing the strange words, realized the situation and resorted to signaling and pointing at their plane’s open cabin, urgently gesturing for them to come aboard.

They want to take us away?

Leon hesitated.

The warrior from the exotic realm suddenly covered one side of his helmet, seemingly listening to something, then nodded, tore off the device hanging from his head, shook it at Leon, pointed at his ear, and then tossed it to the ground.

Leon stepped forward, picked up the object, which seemed to be an earpiece-like communication device, and hesitantly gestured according to the opponent’s direction, placing it against his ear.

“…Hello?”

Leon testedly spoke out.

To his surprise, a voice responded, speaking in a strange, archaic accent.

“Hello, mysterious envoy, please believe…. we are not your enemies.”

Leon widened his eyes at the comprehensible words.

It wasn’t that the device had some magical cross-time translation ability.

It was the voice on the other end, speaking fluently in the familiar Lorelette Language!

“You understand Lorelette Language! Who are you?”

Leon couldn’t help but urgently ask, “Where is this place, and how much do you know about my situation?!”

“Please wait a moment…. Envoy, I… am not very skilled in the ancient language.”

The stuttering response came through the earpiece, and Leon had to patiently wait for the speaker to finish.

“Please quickly leave the blood clan’s territory with our warriors; they will soon give chase, and we can discuss further in a safer place.”

Hearing the plea from the elder on the other end, Leon glanced at the surrounding living warriors, noting their unease and tension as they scanned the surroundings.

Quickly weighing his options, he realized that if he wanted to know more, there seemed to be no other choice.

He slung his rifle back, relieved the superficial vigilance, and called back to Olivia, “Let’s go with them for now, at least we’ll shake off the pursuers.”

The lead living warrior felt relieved upon seeing Leon approach with empty hands.

Olivia nodded, but after taking a couple of steps, she remembered something and turned back toward the car, stepping on the hood to leap onto the roof.

With a clang, she smashed the mount of the heavy weapon, and in the astonished gaze of nearby soldiers, the girl hoisted the formidable big iron crossbow like it was a toy, along with its hefty ammo box.

Olivia was fond of this crossbow; it shot much farther and accurately than that rifle and was more lethal.

“**! ***!” The captain of the warriors raised his voice in protest, and only then did the soldiers tear their gaze away from the monstrous strength of the armored girl.

The group cautiously retreated to the warplane, and waited until the two who seemed like figures out of ancient myths boarded the cabin before quickly regrouping and withdrawing back inside.

The cabin doors closed, the engines roared to life, kicking up a cloud of dust. The massive aircraft slowly ascended diagonally into the air, thrusting forward into the dim sky….
