Chapter 772: Chapter 361: Blood Sacrifice (Part 2)
More accurately speaking.
The surroundings are a void.
Aside from the Magic Light of the Sun Holy Sword now, there is no light or darkness, nor elements or matter, and no presence of any primal energy can be felt.
It seems quite similar to the environment Aphrodite’s Space-Time Magic was last in, yet different somehow.
Feeling the instinctive tension of the girl hugging him tightly, Leon comfortingly patted her back armor.
Even though he doesn’t know what to do next, at least he and Olivia are still alive.
Trying to turn his body, he uses the vision granted by Magic Perception to seek any indicators within the void.
However, when both their bodies just shifted a bit, what entered Leon’s magical vision made him feel a profound trembling and shock from the depths of his heart.
Unable to distinguish up, down, left, or right; but if above is indeed overhead now, an immeasurably immense shining crystal screen was suspended above them.
Innumerable indescribable glimmers floated within the refraction surfaces of that crystal screen.
What is that?
Looking up at the boundless crystal screen left Leon momentarily speechless.
Hiss… the crystal screen is shrinking??
Leon felt as though he could gradually see more contours of the refractive surfaces of the crystal screen.
Not only contours.
As the crystal screen enters his view more clearly, Leon discovered that he and Olivia seem inside some colorful, expansive “Silk String.”
The other end of the Silk String appears deeply connected to some mirror surface of the crystal screen.
This perception seemed somewhat contradictory, because compared to the vast “crystal screen,” the blurry line constricted before him is too small and could only be described as “Silk String.”
What place did the Blood Demon’s tentacles actually pull them into?
The surroundings don’t seem like a Spiritual Field.
Could it be the Spirit Realm?
But this place doesn’t resemble the Spirit Realm described in the Magic Guidebook either.
In a daze, he couldn’t discern how long had passed, seeming unable to perceive time’s change apart from his thought process.
Until gradually seeing the crystal screen appearing thinner in his view, even vaguely perceiving outlines, the string lines before him becoming longer, Leon suddenly felt a chill down his spine…
It turns out, it wasn’t the crystal screen shrinking, but they were moving away from it.
Without any tangible reference for comparison, he finally realized he and Olivia were “moving” within this void at a speed beyond perceptible sensations.
He instinctively turned his head to look.
The white demon rune-etched eyes saw the other end of the “Silk String” was actually connected to an irregular, multifaceted crystal bubble sphere.
And contrasting with the crystal screen, the crystal bubble was continually enlarging in Leon’s view.
Like falling!
…. In shock, shifting his view back, Leon took a final look at the crystal screen he and Olivia were extremely far from now.
Or rather, at the even more gigantic “crystal bubble.”
Surrounding the immense crystal bubble was something resembling a massive purple rift akin to a gigantic mouth….
With no time for any fearful reaction, unable to discern whether it was just an instant or a long time.
When Leon once again sensed gravity, able to perceive with the naked eye countless extended light rays turning the void surrounding them into trajectories like a light curtain.
The feeling of weightlessness finally ceased.
Underfoot was a distinctly hard floor.
Eyes quickly adjusted to the dim candlelight surroundings.
Their breathing could be heard echoing between them.
A strong, choking scent of blood suddenly surged into his nostrils, and Leon couldn’t help but frown.
Alongside restored senses came unbearable suffocation and fatigue.
The body felt as though it had lain dormant unmoving for three days and nights, muscles sore and heavy, joints exceptionally stiff, even the weight of the armor seemed multiplied.
But what bothered him most was the discomfort of the suffocated feeling accompanying the fatigue.
Olivia’s reaction seemed slightly better.
Feeling the disappearance of endless darkness, the girl endured the suffocating and oppressive feeling weighing on her, pressing her hand on the sword hilt, raising her left hand intending to wipe off the tangible sanguine mist gathered before her nose.
But inadvertently, Olivia noticed the iron gloves’ joints were difficult to grip.
The intricately nested iron fingers originally seemed illogically stuck together, unable to move.
Before she could figure out why the armor was broken, Olivia looked up, her body suddenly stiffening.
Her right hand forcibly twisted the immobile iron fingers’ joints, tightly gripping the sword hilt, her eyes filled with sudden wrathful killing intent.
In the dimly lit hall, countless headless corpses knelt in veneration within the demonic rune array underfoot.
The blood flowed through the engraved rune grooves, converging into a blood pool, surrounding horrific corpse remains suspended on cruel execution-like magic artifacts.
Supporting his weight on Garner’s staff, covering his mouth and nose, Leon likewise witnessed the brutal desecration before him, reminiscent of a sinister cult’s sacrificial ritual.
He and Olivia.
Were now standing at the center of this bloody ritual’s demon rune.
Raising his eyes towards the perimeter full of sacrificial corpses, Leon saw a group of figures clad in white robes, their pale faces fanatical and eager gazing at him and Olivia.
A slight commotion arose, whispers of unfamiliar language reached both his and Olivia’s ears.
Not Felu, nor Urian, nor any language Leon had heard before.
At this moment, the tall and slender figure crouched at the core of the demon runes stood up.
He removed his hood, revealing an eerily handsome face beneath, akin to a human, yet with pale skin, and as he opened his mouth, exposed was a set of bloody fangs unrevealed.
Vampire?
Leon listened to the guy uttering a distressed string of words towards him.
“****, ******!”
Leon didn’t know how to respond.
Or rather, even if he could understand, the scene before him always made him struggle to resist the urge to swing Garner’s staff and slaughter these vampires.
He held onto the raging Olivia barely containing her fury, attempting to first grasp their situation.
But the anomaly occurred on the opposing side first.
The leading vampire suddenly flared his nostrils, his expression dramatically changing.
“***!!”
Under a twisted visage, his words transformed into a sharp roar.
With ferocity in his gaze, he pounced directly like a swift wind.
However, waiting for him was Olivia’s blade, no longer controlled.
The Holy Sword swiftly turned into a cold gleam, shattering the iron glove’s fingers, swinging the great sword, instantly decapitating the leading vampire.
Columns of blood sprayed forth, the headless body kicked away by Leon, tumbling into the crowd.
The body felt so heavy….. Leon sensed his reflexes slower than usual for this kick.
Seeing the robed vampires retreating constantly, as if incredulous, raising claw-like fingers, revealing fang-filled mouths cursed incessantly.
Though Leon didn’t know where this place was, he knew it was time to kill wildly.
Brandishing Garner, along with Olivia lowering the sword, stepping through the blood pool underfoot, he heard a burst of hurried footsteps from the corridor outside the hall.
The door was suddenly kicked open, armored guards flooded into the hall.
Leon couldn’t help but pause, his expression bewildered.
The familiar jet-black bulletproof vests tightly covered the bodies of the guards streaming into the hall.
The robed vampires had escaped behind those equally pallid vampire guards.
And in the guards’ hands were weapons Leon found painfully familiar.
“—Rifles?!”
The next moment,
Witnessing the vampires pulling triggers, gun muzzles erupting firelight, a cacophony of deafening crisp explosions, the guards’ firearms aimed at Leon and Olivia, spewing, ejecting roaring metallic fire snakes—
