Chapter 748: Chapter 350: The Eve of Departure

The Lord’s Fortress within Avalon Castle.

On the training track, warhorses were galloping at full speed, while the sound of bugles and shouts echoed across the sky.

The knights of Griffin Wings, led by the castle lord Lokhak, swiftly and accurately thrust their long weapons, knocking down the targets set up along the training ground.

For traditional Felu Knights, the main combat weapons usually fall into two categories.

One type is the relatively standardized Impact Lance, which is a more efficient and rapid-training lethal weapon.

The other type consists of various long-handled weapons that better showcase individual martial arts skills, such as long spears, battle axes, and so on.

Including the long pole spear, which differs from the common impact lance, in Orland, this horse-mounted long pole spear is called the “Dragon Spear,” named after the Dragon Tamers of the Drakemar family who habitually use this type of spear.

And now, Leon was personally experiencing the might of traditional Orland Kingdom weaponry.

On the arena ground, cold flashes, difficult for ordinary eyes to catch, constantly flew around, weaving a stream of light swift as lightning.

Leon frequently countered with the Hydra Nine Swords, wielding the magic spear with difficulty to resist Olivia’s fiercer spear techniques than ever before.

Relying on the remnants of battle experience accumulated over “many years” in his memory, he barely avoided quickly losing as in past practices. However, there was more than just him who seemed to “suddenly” gain additional combat experience.

Just after deflecting Olivia’s stabbing spear tip with his Magic Spear Wing Blade, the girl’s spear blade immediately struck towards his waist at an incredible angle.

The thought of exchanging damage had just arisen when Leon foresaw the wing blade slicing through the air under the opponent’s Cat Spinning Step, while also receiving a solid, deadly thrust to his waist.

Helpless, he had to withdraw, but the Dragon Spear, initially in the middle of an attack, truly bypassed Garner like a swimming dragon and immediately assaulted his face.

Without using the super-speed body technique of Thunderbolt, his defeat was almost certain, as his physical prowess could not match the opponent’s without magic. In terms of pure martial arts, he was indeed a notch below.

With a crisp clash as forces dissipated, the blade of the Dragon Spear touched the faceplate of his Wing Helmet, and the victor was decided.

Leon wasn’t discouraged; overall, he was much stronger than before, having lasted nearly a hundred moves against Olivia before losing. Although she didn’t use her full strength, neither did he.

Retracting her spear, Olivia lowered the blade with one hand and took off her helmet, looking at Leon with curiosity: “Why haven’t you been using that… lightning-fast movement method recently?”

She still recalled vaguely in her dreams, that flashing Thunder body technique, which even for Olivia, was terrifyingly difficult to handle.

Leon opened his faceplate, took a deep breath, and shook the Garner in his hand, explaining with a shake of his head: “I’m afraid if I keep pushing it, this magic wand will be completely broken.”

He remembered when Galron of the Ancient Flame Sun Guard had mentioned that the wand’s function of element-to-solid transformation shouldn’t be used more than once a day.

Exceeding this limit over time would make the wand’s material structure increasingly unstable.

Yet over the years, during critical moments, he couldn’t heed the restrictions on weapon use, considering his life was more important than the wand.

Moreover, from previous several overload uses, he hadn’t noticed any signs of damage to Garner…

Until on that alternate life path, he used it the same way for a full six years.

Although there was no Undead Magic Disaster, during those six years of experience, he faced numerous life-and-death moments.

During those six years, particularly without obtaining the Netti Card, the extreme use of this ancient magic spear was naturally more frequent.

And the Thunder magic, developed after joining the Warlock Society and studying magic, with current hindsight, was indeed excessive in terms of overloading this wand’s transformation technique.

Though the world had been rewound to before everything changed, when everything was restored, it wasn’t just he and Ines, but this wand too retained the “wear and tear” from the six years on that life path, independent of the Great Magic.

After years of pressure, Garner’s transformation technique has become somewhat “pineapple pineapple o’la”.

Already after the night at the Royal Palace, Leon noticed the process of the wand’s transformation becoming extraordinarily slow and unstable.

Now he doesn’t dare easily switch the wand’s Elemental State, almost always carrying it in solid form as a regular weapon.

That powerful Thunder magic, naturally, he doesn’t dare to use carelessly in everyday life anymore.

Moving aside for a brief rest, Leon fumbled with the ancient magician’s weapon, this wand known as magic spear, which had been with him for so long, still puzzled by certain bizarre aspects that were completely inexplicable.

Although not every piece of the “past” was fully restored, at least all the relatively important memories from those six years were clearly remembered by Leon now.

Studying under Glenn Soren, interacting with many friends and family, or countless little things with Ines… lost in memories, Leon looked down, frowning at the silver magic spear in his hand.

However, until now, this was the only thing he hadn’t found in his memory of when and where he had acquired in that life path.

In the current fate’s trajectory, he had discovered this ancient magic spear in Aphrodite’s tower, placed in the workshop.

Yet in the space-time where he bonded with Ines, the Bauhinia Mage Fortress had long turned to ruins, and he had never been there, nor had he obtained the Netti Card…

The Boiling Heart Netti Card perhaps followed his subjective consciousness through the era’s great magic, which mysteriously allowed it to appear on him three years later.

But Garner, unquestionably accompanied him for six uninterrupted years during that fate path.

Why did this wand appear in his hands during those six years as if it should?

Thinking with a headache, Leon accepted the water flask Olivia handed him, and took a sip of cold water, relaxing his tightly knit brows.

These past two days, he has been continually perusing the library in Aphrodis Mage Tower, looking into various theories in magic science related to concepts like the “Dream of the Great Group” and the “River of Time.”

Attempting to decode the principles behind Lady Aphrodite’s great magic, capable of altering the world, and unravel the yet unresolved oddities.

The library held a considerable number of magic guidebooks in this field, but the more Leon read, the more it gave him a headache…

In comparison to the relatively intuitive Elemental Studies, theories in the field of Astronomy would likely require years of study to understand, even with a foundational knowledge.

Not to mention that he lacks a mentor in this field, akin to studying the most advanced, cutting-edge physical sciences without even completing mandatory education… Even with the other-side memory from joining the Warlock Society to aid him, even grasping some terms and concepts beyond common sense and rational logic made him want to pull out all his hair.

Moreover, calculating the various data of the Great Magic’s internal Demon Rune structure was an impossible task; even if he had access to a computer right now, he wouldn’t know how to begin analyzing it.

Looking back, he should have asked Ines from three years in the future if she knew where he got this wand.

Leon, helpless, was being troubled by countless more pressing concerns at the time, and his memory was gradually restoring, thinking he would soon recall these seemingly insignificant details.

Yet now he could remember when he allied with Lokhak, using Zerrien’s opportunity to “seduce” some mercenary thugs, and killed the guards to escape from the town of Mamor County in that life path, but still knew nothing about how the magic spear came to him in that space-time.

“Olivia…” Leon looked at his wife, pointing to his head: “Do you remember, in those memory fragments, do you know when and where I obtained Garner during those six years?”
