Chapter 713: Chapter 332: Deer Horn Has Broken_2
The Warlock Society of the Northern Kingdom even stood on the side of Ines’s Hecha Dynasty during the civil war.
Where did the Golden Lion Dynasty acquire such powerful spellcasters as foreign aid?
The commanders, after all, are battle-hardened, and the brief disturbance quickly settled.
Leon and the actual commander of the army exchanged brief opinions and did not overturn the old general’s decision. The entire cavalry unit left the ranks following the military orders and raced at full speed towards Kalantha Fortress.
… The bright sun slowly moved across the noon sky.
The urgent pounding of hooves echoed as thousands of cavalry rushed to the aid, finally arriving outside Kalantha City in the afternoon.
As far as the eye could see, the battle cries on the battlefield hadn’t ceased.
The huge breach in the fortress wall ahead came into the view of the soldiers.
Amidst the melee of the battlefield core, where heads crowded together, on top of the collapsed rubble, the smooth cut openings on both sides seemed to confirm the cavalry’s plea for help was not in vain.
At this moment, the breach that seemed to be blown open by some unimaginable magic had become a death vortex between the defenders and the attackers.
Knights in heavy red and white robes wielded long swords and battle axes, shouting as they charged to breach the fortress, while distant blue-robed soldiers inside the city strove to repel waves of attacks.
Blood splattered the ruins, staining the scorched earth beneath; broken shields, clashing weapons, and soldiers’ screams intertwined. Some were pierced and fell, others stepped over their comrades’ bodies to continue fighting. Both sides saw red, swearing to crush the other, with corpses piling up, seemingly creating a stairway to victory for the Golden Lion flag army.
The Sea Eagle soldiers, arriving on the battlefield, raised their banners, and the attack horn sounded at the front lines.
Listening to the standing riding spears and clashing armor beside him, Leon also had to draw his long sword.
Not fight?
If the stronghold were still intact, perhaps identities could be used for negotiation, but not now.
The army could not sit by and watch Kalantha fall; the brutal battle would not easily stop until one side achieved complete victory.
“——For the Queen!!
——For the Lion!!!”
The resounding battle cries roared from the mouths of the North Realm warriors.
The old general commanding the entire army swung down the long sword, and the North Realm army advanced behind the Golden Lion flag.
The thundering hooves stomped the grasslands like waves crashing on the shore, converging with the Southern Dynasty’s troops, trying to relieve the besieged Kalantha defenders.
Amidst the dense cluster of Sea Eagle Forbidden Guards entering the battlefield, the warhorse carried Leon crashing into the formation, yet he did not engage in combat, or rather, being in the battle center, there wasn’t yet an enemy able to reach him.
Riding into a battlefield and slaughter that wasn’t originally his own, Leon gazed afar towards the distant battle flags, trying to spot any possible sign of Olivia.
The most elite Sea Eagle Forbidden Guard of the North Joined the fray, easing the pressure on the hard-fighting fortress defenders.
Leon advanced with the army, making his way to the fiercest part of the battlefield beneath the walls.
A few deafening roars and the sounds of collapse and falling, once overshadowed the battlefield’s clamor, coming from within the fortress from afar.
“… Your Highness! Prince!!”
A North Realm Knight, blocking the collapsed section of the wall with his troops, his battle robe nearly dyed red by blood, saw from afar the flag symbolizing the commander. Seeing hope, he swung his battle axe, striking down charging enemies, shouting with all his might: “——There! Lord Kellan is fighting that Golden Lion!”
Leon’s gaze followed the knight’s pointing direction.
The high towering arrow tower’s top layer had collapsed, the stone tower made of bricks seemed unable to bear the impact; the top two layers had become crumbled ruins, falling down.
Amidst the smoke and dust of the ruined tower, a figure, like a kite with a broken string, flew through the air towards the outside of the western wall.
With superb eyesight capturing that figure tumbling backward, the distinctive silver armor and towering figure, Leon immediately recognized it as the Deer Horn Baron—Great Knight Kellan, who once saved his life from the Peacock Knight’s blade.
His eyes turned back to the defense tower now left with only three layers.
The pervasive dust gradually dispersed, revealing a golden-maned white cloak fluttering fiercely in the autumn breeze.
Underneath the dazzling platinum battle robe, angular steel boots treaded on the broken tower walls.
The white platinum figure, hanging a lavish knight’s long spear, with a glimpse of gold hair flaring up, transformed into a golden meteor Leon could barely glimpse, chasing swiftly away.
——Boom!!!
The giant bricks on the spot collapsed in layers following the cracked center stepped on by the steel boots.
The roar even lagged behind the platinum figure wielding a spear and leaping out, breaking through the air.
Is that…——her??
With a sinking heart, Leon frowned and hurriedly sheathed his long sword in urgency, he couldn’t hesitate any longer, Baron Kellan was in imminent danger!
Even in a parallel world, he couldn’t stand by and watch his wife personally kill his lifesaver.
“Treya, you hold onto my banner! I’m going to help Lord Kellan!”
Throwing down an order to the general’s guard, Leon paid no heed to the guards’ astonishment, he dismounted from the horse, stepped on the saddle and leapt, hurling the atmosphere and thunder with his right arm.
Garner——!
The weather suddenly changed, and in the clear sky, thunder and atmospheric elements intertwined and shook the horizon.
The Magic Gun roared like a divine thunder striking the city walls, the impact arc knocked the attacking soldiers flying.
Reverse activation of the Traction Technique, Leon, wrapped in lightning, was pulled diagonally, landing with a thud on the city wall.
He ran along the force like walking on flat ground, lightning splattering as he raced up the towering fortress wall.
Climbing over the battlements, he waved and summoned the magic wand with a spell, the heavy Garner crackled with lightning, spinning back with a clang as it was caught.
Holding the Thunder Spear, Leon stepped forward, about to rush straight through the Southern Army soldiers on the wall, when he heard startled cries and cheers ahead, mixed with hubbub.
“——Prince Johnson!!”
“——It’s the Snake Slayer!! It’s the Snake Slayer——!!”
Looking at the imposing figure of the Champion Knight holding the legendary Thunder God’s Spear… groups of Southern Army warriors, scrambling to retreat like a tide towards any stairs or towers they could flee to.
No one fears death who climbs first, but no one wants to die meaninglessly. Even the bravest warrior must avoid natural disasters.
Stunned by the scene in front of him, surprised by the deterrent power he unexpectedly possessed, Leon quickly gathered his wandering thoughts, not caring about anyone else for a moment, his footsteps thundering across the wall as he charged full speed towards the western section.
Hearing the earth-shattering roars outside, Leon gazed and searched all over the delta to the west of the fortress.
The marks left by the fierce battle between two Knights of Valor standing at the pinnacle of the world were very conspicuous.
Huge ravines and pits caused the destroyed delta dikes to be flooded by the surging river waters.
Seeing the Deer Horn Knight, with ruptured armor, pitifully falling into a deep pit, Leon stepped out with his left foot, lifted the Magic Gun with his right hand, and the Demon Rune gathering atmospheric elements wound around the staff along his arm.
He threw the Garner with all his might before the golden figure rapidly approaching Kellan.
Turning into a flash of lightning, Leon flew out, simultaneously landing on the delta with the Magic Gun in a moment.
The pressure impact released before his figure fell stirred up dust and mud into the air.
The cloak fell, he bent his knees to dissipate the terrifying landing force, holding the Magic Gun deeply embedded in the ground, his eyes fixed intently on the halted figure.
So familiar… at this moment, yet somewhat strangely unfamiliar.
Even from a distance of twenty to thirty meters, his magic perception as a spellcaster still found it difficult to breathe under the oppressive, immense disturbing magic field surrounding the other.
“…Olivia.”
The cloak with golden mane trim fell as the figure in white and gold royal armor halted.
The knight, holding a dazzling golden spear in the sunlight, wore neither battle helmet nor crown, her brilliant golden hair seemed to be her coronet.
There was no need for symbolic embellishment, merely facing the awe-inspiring majesty reflected in those golden eyes, no one would doubt her identity.
The gem-like beautiful eyes now held a touch of indifference and coldness…making Leon couldn’t help but smile bitterly under his mask.
This coldness the other only showed towards enemies, he had never experienced from his own perspective.
