Chapter 710: Chapter 331: Golden Lion Attack

“Marshal of the Holy War Army… the hero who ended the Undead Magic Disaster… Hmm~” The golden hair swayed gently by the window, Ines, now back in her platinum gown, gazed at the distant view of Audoruk, patiently listening to more details about the so-called other world.

“Hmm hmm~♪… As expected of Li Ang.” The small velvet fan teased in the queen’s hand, the sunlight reflecting off the exquisite crown. The youthful-looking Lord of the North sparkled like the embedded jewels.

“But you.”

Queen Ines glanced at her other self with emerald eyes, her expression even showing a hint of disdainful ridicule: “Useless, for three whole years, you just watched him be taken by others? I can’t believe it. Honestly, I’m starting to wonder if you’re really me.”

The blue-gowned Ines, just about to sip some tea to soothe her throat, couldn’t help but twitch her brow, her small hand clutching the teacup ear almost wishing to crush the porcelain handle.

Being mercilessly criticized by oneself—this was indeed a first.

Putting down the teacup discontentedly, the bottom struck a crisp note.

“It’s easy for you to say. The first time I heard of him, Olivia had already made a pact with him, even tied the headband… I was just a few months behind you, and after that, there was no chance to stay with him long-term. Later, he’d already cut down trees with others to make a boat, what could I have done?”

“Poison, assassination, threats… do I need to teach you these methods you’re used to since childhood? Could it be that the land in West Bay just fell into your lap from the sky?” Queen Ines propped her cheek, her voice icy.

The blue-gowned Ines looked up without mercy, retorting: “Why don’t you suggest I take a sword and duel with Olivia? Wouldn’t that get me killed even faster?

If those tricks worked, you should be sitting on Oran’s throne now, instead of being blown by cold winds in the Haven County fortress, forced by Lady Golden Lion.

Besides, how could such vile means escape Leon’s notice? Are you giving me advice or trying to turn me against him?”

Agatha, standing by the side, looked at the “two” mistresses at the table, their sharp exchanges making her head spin.

Not daring to interrupt or listen in detail, the Chief Guard decided to leave the chamber silently and stand guard outside.

Queen Ines unfolded her fan, shaking it: “I simply can’t stand your indecisiveness, can’t you be a bit more proactive?”

“If we went through the same experiences, I wouldn’t be slower than you, you’re just a bit luckier than me.” The blue-gowned Ines refused to be outdone.

Queen Ines raised an eyebrow, sarcastically smiling: “Oh really? Then all this past month, with the Golden Lion not by his side, does it mean you’ve already brought him to bed?”

The blue-gowned Ines widened her eyes, her cheeks flushed red, feeling defeated in front of herself for the first time and could only mumble aside: “What nonsense are you talking about?… How… shameless.”

“There’s nothing people can scorn about getting cozy with the man who should be my husband~?”

Queen Ines smugly rested her chin, flaunting to her defeated self: “You probably don’t realize how mischievous Li Ang is beneath his serious exterior, do you need me~ to tell you in advance how to please him~?”

The blue-gowned Ines, watching her own gloating face, couldn’t help but feel a surge of anger.

How hadn’t she noticed in the mirror before, that her face could actually be so annoying?

However… she understood that the version of herself in front did indeed know Leon better.

“Why do you always call him ‘Li Ang’?” The blue-gowned Ines asked, taking another sip of her tea to suppress her anger.

She didn’t believe that with her linguistic skills, she’d mispronounced such a simple name.

“I’m also wondering why you call him ‘Leon’.”

Queen Ines squinted, slightly retracting her mockery towards her other self, and said, fanning herself: “‘Li Ang’ is his name from…~ Oh, he hasn’t told you this secret yet, hehe, never mind, you guess it yourself.”

“Hey~! I’m also you, what’s the big deal about telling me?” the blue-gowned Ines queried slightly annoyed.

“Perhaps, but if you truly are me, you’d know you wouldn’t easily believe a single-sided story, especially since the replacement theory from yesterday can’t explain why only he vanished while I’m still sitting here just fine.”

Queen Ines closed her eyes, noncommittal: “As I see it, Li Ang might just have some odd memory glitch, with you being this suspicious existence identical to me by his side. So far, you haven’t provided any evidence besides memory to prove he’s not my Li Ang.”

The blue-gowned Ines frowned, knowing clearly she came from another different world, having seen her other self in this world. She had to admit the other’s suspicions and inquiries were justified.

From the perspective of people in this world, is there any difference between Li Ang and Leon from her side?

In terms of proof, they had never even existed simultaneously.

The blue-gowned Ines hesitated for a moment, then carefully ventured: “Since the two have experienced different battles and battlefields, perhaps they bear different scars. Shall we call him and compare? You must know his… body very well, right?”

“Li Ang doesn’t have any scars, scar removal isn’t a difficult magic to perform, but, this is indeed a method, at least as corroborative evidence.” Queen Ines considered and nodded.

“Now, let’s discuss how to help you return. I still have no solution for Oran’s royal palace for the time being, and as for that Minstrel Li Ang mentioned… I have ordered notices posted everywhere, spreading the word to invite the elusive Master Goliard to Audoruk Palace for a banquet. The notice deliberately states the invitation is from ‘Leon Pendragon’.”

Having said that, Queen Ines paused, seriously and softly stated: “But I must tell you the harsh truth in advance, even if a way to send you back is found, I won’t care whether you go or stay. However, unless we truly find this ‘other him’, proving that the current him isn’t my Li Ang, otherwise… I will never allow him to leave with you!”

Her voice carried an undeniable tone.

The blue-gowned Ines lightly frowned… after a long time, finally nodded slowly.

Leon hurried to the rear hall of the palace, seeing Lady Agatha at the entrance.

“Good day, Lord Li An… Leon.” The tall Female Guard hesitated slightly but settled on the self-designation insisted upon by the visitor.

Being the confidante to the queen who currently was the only one aware of the so-called “time-space traveler,” she couldn’t discern any difference in “Li An” before her from usual, yet cautiously greeted as per the visitor’s claim.

“I’m here to see Ines.”

Leon looked at the female knight before him, worried about the safety of Agatha and others unknown in the palace of his original timeline.

“Your Highness is inside, they’ve instructed that you may enter at your discretion.” Agatha replied with a slightly odd expression.

Lord Li An had returned with yet another Ines, even from the perspective of his legendary Wanderer adventures among commoners, this was the most bizarre story she had heard.

Leon nodded, stepping into the chamber.

The Agatha knight looked back at the identical back, a thought flashed, and she suddenly tested, “Lord Leon, may I ask… do you have any special opinion about ‘collar’?”

“Ah?”

Leon turned back: “Collar?”

He frowned in bewilderment, and in the next second, his expression dramatically changed.

Leon looked towards Lady Agatha’s neck in horror.

Ah ah ah? No way?!

“Lady Agatha, is it that I… no, is it that he—!!?”

“No, no, don’t misunderstand, Your Highness.” Agatha showed embarrassment, reverting to the customary title subconsciously, she waved her hands continuously, more convinced that it indeed was identically the same: “Rest assured, there’s no such thing, I only inadvertently saw it in a cabinet while helping Her Majesty look for something…”
