Chapter 700: Chapter 327: Returning North to Seek Treasure
By the time we left the Kovis embassy, the hour was approaching dawn. Although the sun had not yet fully leaped out from the horizon, many people in the city of the Western Port had already begun their day’s toil under the faintly dim sky.
Walking down the street, listening to the rising clamor of rotating axles and horse hooves. Leon’s brows remained tightly locked with unresolved confusion.
Why did Galliard specifically seek out Kovis six years ago in this world, leaving behind that ambiguous, mysterious “greeting”?
— Lord Pandora?
Diving deep into countless clear memories in his mind, Leon dug up this playful jest about his own nickname from the sea of consciousness.
That was when he had once more unexpectedly encountered the digging Minstrel during his infiltration of Felcon Castle, and the other party seemed to forget Leon’s surname, Pendragon, instead blurting out this mistaken name.
In this world, Kovis never had any terms that bore even a slight phonetic resemblance to “Pandora.”
And the one who had ever been called by such a name, happened to be himself.
Could it be merely a coincidence?
No, how could this be just a coincidence?
Leon’s imagination couldn’t help but leap and flurry.
He paused briefly, gazing towards the distant, dim, silent ocean, cinching his cuffs tightly with myriad thoughts, continuing to walk toward the inn where he stayed.
… That Minstrel… six years ago, was he greeting the current “me”?
Is Galliard a Prophet like Little Gold Coin, able to capture fragments of the “Dream of the Great Group”?
Or, like the ancient Great Mage praised in the Magic Guidebook, can he actively observe the upper and lower reaches of the “River of Time”?
Leon frowned in deep thought, regardless of which it might be, if it was merely prophecy perceiving the future six years hence, despite being extraordinarily powerful from a magical perspective, given Galliard’s perpetual mystery, perhaps that aspect is the least worth marveling at.
The issue lies in that the words he left may have far more implications beyond just foreseeing today’s meeting with himself.
Long time no see… Lord Pandora…
The premise of a long time no see requires at least a prior meeting.
Unless there had also been a similar slip of tongue jest with a “Leon Pendragon” that may or may not exist in this world.
Otherwise, does this playful nickname “Pandora” imply that Galliard not only foresaw my finding Kovis six years later, but also knew about another parallel world interaction between him and myself?
Furthermore… is he this world’s Galliard, or is he the very Galliard I encountered back then?
If the two are indeed the same person, wouldn’t that mean Galliard… possesses the capability to freely traverse different parallel space-times?
Could he aid Ines and me in returning to our original world?
All these questions and puzzles intertwined, leading Leon to helplessly rest his forehead with a sigh.
Over the years, he has focused more energy on combat fields and practical skills such as Elemental Studies; in the Mage Tower Library, he has not yet come across profound knowledge and theories concerning time-space domains recorded in the Magic Guidebook.
His current situational ponderings rely solely on concepts and imaginations from his past life on Earth, making it challenging to make a more accurate judgment about his predicament and the mysterious Galliard.
Especially since, in this space-time, Lady Aphrodite’s Mage Tower no longer exists, even hoping to rush up on knowledge last-minute would be too late now.
As for Kovis’s understanding of Athias’s magic knowledge in this world…. the concept of parallel space-time is even unheard of.
To be honest, Leon senses that even if he offered the “Quenching Life Technique” as a condition for assistance, this world’s Kovis might only believe his origin’s claim about fifty to sixty percent.
However, for now, that suffices.
Having the cooperation of someone like Kovis, who is officially a Mage in this world, is much better than blindly roaming globally for over a month with Ines without a clue.
Leon returned to the second floor of the inn, gingerly taking out a key, cautiously opening the door.
No matter how careful, the aged door hinge still emitted a creaking noise, startling the maiden inside.
Ines, lying on her side, swiftly reached for the short sword at the bedhead, her eyes still clouded with drowsiness looking towards the door.
“It’s me.” Leon revealed an apologetic smile towards the girl, walking to the other side of the bed to sit down, and softly said: “Sorry, I woke you.”
“It’s alright, I had just fallen asleep myself.” Seeing that it was Leon returning, Ines relaxed, letting go of the sword hilt, allowing the short sword to clatter against the cabinet.
“Mm~~~~…” The girl raised a hand to cover her mouth, stifling a small yawn, then turned over to sit up, her feet extending from under the covers, stretching a bit, before leaning back against the bedhead, looking at Leon and asked: “So? Did you find this world’s Lord Allen Del?”
Leon removed his shoes, sitting cross-legged on his bed, narrating roughly last night’s experiences and discoveries.
“… So Lord Allen Del’s identity as the Prince of Villania is true? I thought that was also your fabrication to protect Miss Olivia.”
Ines supported her elbow, tilting her head, propped her face sideways with a grin: “… Okrosia, Drakemar, Allen Del… if you count me, a daughter from the Hecha Family…. Mr. Leon, are you perhaps intentionally collecting Royal Family bloodlines?”
Leon shook his head helplessly: “Just a coincidence.”
