Knights and Magic Wand
Chapter 567 - 567 269 The Battle of Fenlidun_2

567: Chapter 269: The Battle of Fenlidun_2 567: Chapter 269: The Battle of Fenlidun_2 The tides formed by the Corpse Ghost Army crashed against a solid dam.

The knights and warriors of the Thorny Flower Family roared fiercely as they engaged in deadly combat with the undead.

Meanwhile, amidst the deafening sounds of battle in the outskirts, Leon, who had already separated from the cavalry column halfway through, was leading six other spellcasters toward the rendezvous point of the ambush’s main force.

Pulling on the reins, the Black Steed reared up with a long piercing whinny, and Leon lit the lamp once more.

“Follow me into battle!

Reclaim the homeland of the living!!”

Pendragon’s Sword Wing Battle Banner and the Holy Lake’s White Flame Sun Wheel Banner both began to advance, as heavy infantry marched in uniform steps, following their commander under the guidance of seven Holy Lights.

The Avalon Knights, Holy Lake Knights, Ranger Knights, and Kantadar Knights loosened their reins, gripping their weapons as they drove their warhorses forward to shield the infantry on either flank.

Ignoring Fenlidun’s frontlines, Leon led the main forces to assault the drawbridge gate on the northern side of the city’s protective river.

The city’s original moat was now filled with floating, struggling Corpse Ghosts, looking like a river of the dead.

The drawbridge chains, previously destroyed by the undead, had not yet been repaired.

What should have been a sealed drawbridge now lay flat across the riverbank, with only the lowered portcullis blocking entry into the city.

Corpse Ghosts in the suburbs had already been lured away by the cavalry; only a hundred or so stragglers remained outside the city, wandering aimlessly.

The elite troops of the alliance’s main assault force easily crushed the mindless shambling dead in their path.

As Leon’s forces neared the city gates, he immediately issued orders.

The sound of three military horns echoed in unison as the army quickened their pace, transitioning into a swift assault formation.

Leon cast the Netti Card, Callisto, with a flick as if throwing a flying dagger.

The awe-inspiring beast manifested once more, summoned by Leon’s stern command to charge straight at the portcullis.

The living siege engine collided with a thunderous boom, shattering the reinforced wooden gates wrapped in riveted iron sheets into splinters.

Behind the gates, a dozen or so Corpse Ghost Soldiers that failed to dodge were crushed under shards of debris.

In the next instant, the massive bear charged forward, tearing through like a “rolling steel coil” barreling down a highway, its immense weight reducing the hapless creatures below to paper-thin scraps.

Retrieving the beast card, Leon seized his reins, spurred his horse onward, and led the charge into the fortified city as a vanguard.

“—For Leon!!

For Avalon!!”

Lokhak’s thunderous roar reverberated like a tiger’s battle cry, inspiring the black-robed, red-winged Avalon soldiers to unleash fearless shouts of their own.

The silver-armored Holy Lake Knights raised their riding spears skyward and bellowed their creed:

“—In the name of Illaril!!!”

The heavy cavalry surged through the gates in tight formation, their thunderous gallop shaking the earth.

With their formidable armor and sharp blades, the mighty knights tore through the Corpse Ghosts before them like a storm, carving out a bloodstained path littered with severed corpses for the heavy infantry following behind.

The warhorses, clad in plated horse armor, trampled through the massing Corpse Ghost Warriors.

Suddenly, several massive shadows descended from above.

Leon looked upward.

There, he saw several Giant Bat Ghosts beating their demon-like wings as they dove toward him.

A sharp eagle cry rang out, as a majestic bird of prey, radiating a holy light, shot into the undead beasts like a comet.

Stormhawk Xiao An’s talons seized one of the Giant Bat Ghosts, its immense force intercepting the monster mid-flight and hurling it toward the other side of the sky.

(In Ancient Lorelette Language)

“Elder Rique—Let all things yield to my command, Starlight Contract, Summoning Spirit Shifting, Calliope Missa Antares!!”

The icy winds seeped into the battle helmet of the Eagle Knight, as golden eyes glimmered within the shadow of his visor.

The first sword gifted by his lord sprang from its scabbard on his back, as the young warrior cast forth the spinning Blade of Friendship.

—Squelch!

A spray of black ichor rained down, as Ancient Techniques commanded two flying swords, transforming them into intersecting arcs of chilling brilliance that pierced through the massive heads of the bat demons.

Simultaneously, Leon dropped his reins with his right hand, pulling his arm up and behind his head, summoning his Magic Wand from within his thoughts.

Surging lightning magic suddenly materialized like bracers, glittering arcs crackling as they forged into the tangible form of a silver Magic Gun.

From beneath his visor, Leon’s eyes gleaned an ethereal trajectory narrowing into focus, as if freezing time itself.

This strike—was unerring.

“Hyaaa!!”

The Black-armored Knight hurled the Garner Magic Gun at full strength toward the incoming Giant Bat Ghost.

The Knight of Valor’s terrifying might released a sonic boom as the azure-colored Magic Gun hurtled forward like a rail cannon, tearing through the air.

—Boom!

The precise thrust of the Garner penetrated flawlessly, the spear deeply embedding itself into the undead beast’s chest.

The giant bat, struck down, spiraled out of control like a severed kite, crashing to the rear.

Two remaining creatures finally reached the knights galloping below, diving upon the rear ranks of the Holy Lake Knights.

Mounted on horseback, Irem raised his Long Spear, driving its sharp tip into the side of the attacking monster, using brute force to flip it over.

The hefty creature screamed in fury, crashing onto the street and rolling uncontrollably along the ground.

The Illaril Knights following close behind sprinted past the fallen monster, slashing it with sword and spear as they swept by.

The Knight Deputy approached on horseback, swinging a War Hammer downward with a savage strike.

Crash!

The glowing Magic War Hammer, bolstered by the momentum of the Holy Court Warhorse, sent the Giant Bat Ghost flying and slammed it back onto the earth with a fierce impact.

The knights charging from behind each thrust their spears into the struggling monster, skewering its body until it turned into a mangled heap.

Jumping from her horse, Olivia swung her Long Spear into the final monster soaring overhead.

As she was carried into the air by the creature, her agile form twisted to leverage the momentum and propel herself upward.

Her iron-gloved hands then clamped down on the monster’s massive head like a steel vice.
