Knights and Magic Wand -
Chapter 563 - 563 268 The Horn of Counterattack
563: Chapter 268: The Horn of Counterattack 563: Chapter 268: The Horn of Counterattack “…It is not a free Undead, its autonomous awareness is even less than the Corpse Ghost you encountered in the forest back then.
But it is also not a magical entity shaped by necromancy.
They can act according to the orders of the Upper Undead, fight based on memorized information, construct buildings, command armies.
Yet the power sustaining these undead individuals does not directly originate from a magic supply, nor are they directly manipulated and controlled by an Upper Spellcaster.
Their existence is rooted in a law different from those of this world.
Just as you can breathe and eat naturally in this world, perhaps in some unknown world, the land eternally roams Living Corpses, devoid of concepts of life and death—a desolate, eternal sight of all beings withering away.
The state between life and death of the eternally preserved dead is frozen indefinitely, akin to an extension of the Dead Sea realm…
At least under those ominous clouds, the world’s cycle is undergoing a process of fusion, though what I perceive is merely the tip of the iceberg.”
Lola’s voice gradually fell silent, pondering counteractions.
Those clouds weren’t meant to shield the Dead Sea; rather, they were meant to conceal Mosela’s power…
No wonder such a large-scale reversal of life and death has seen no response from the laws of Yin Nie.
If their intent to fuse with this world originates from a Different Plane already enveloped by the Dead Sea, then Yin Nie would naturally disregard their actions…
“Can destroying the altars the Undead built stop them?” Leon asked internally.
“No, I originally believed halting the ritual of establishing a Spirit Realm fissure would suffice.
But now, it appears they are attempting to synchronize the time-space environment beneath the clouds with that Different Plane.
The forces of the Exotic Realm have already infiltrated the netherworld, and destroying the altars will have little effect on their true purpose.
It’s as if two worlds in the Void are being connected by countless ‘Hooked Rope Chains.’ The altars are merely devices launching those chains.
Predictably, at this moment, countless corresponding altars have already been erected in that other world.
They’ve completed many of their preparations.
They’re now waiting to exert force and pull the two together, ushering in a true space-time convergence.”
Lola continued to command: “We must sever the link between the two planes…
Li Ang, attack one of their core altars as soon as possible, and I’ll try to find a way to break their magic.”
Leon nodded silently.
He glanced at the struggling Corpse Ghost, and as a precaution, he asked the teacher beside him: “Does this creature still hold any research value for you?”
“No, deal with it as you will.”
After saying so, Lola delved deeply into analyzing the vast information obtained from the Soul Bell and the Corpse Ghost’s memories, sinking into profound thoughts without speaking further.
Leon stared at the Corpse Ghost, which had ceased struggling, and after some consideration, he formulated an idea to boost morale.
Leaving the dungeon, he summoned Count Lunaf, Knight Rohn, Baron Balfe, Azeryan, Glenn Soren, and others, holding a military council to understand the intelligence Lunaf’s forces had scouted.
Unfortunately, unlike the Griffin Mercenary Group and the Ranger Knights, the other two advance units of the Baldim family provided little surprise for Leon.
Count Lunaf shook his head: “…Dor Camp has long been completely destroyed.
All the provisions were burned…
As for Morton Town, it’s too dangerous to approach.
The provision status is unknown, but we know approximately 20,000 Undead are entrenched there.”
Leon didn’t harbor high expectations for the defeated troops under his command.
Knowing the general circumstances of these two locations was sufficient.
“Fenlidun City, despite having a large presence of Undead, is currently leaderless thanks to the adventures of the Ranger Knights.
It’s an ideal target for the first battle.
Speed is of the essence—delaying will allow the Undead army to respond and dispatch higher-ranking Undead to command their Corpse Ghosts.
We must strike now and reclaim the city.”
After discussing the terrain and marching routes in South Bank with everyone, factoring in the difficulty and value of each objective, Leon excluded Ashford, where all provisions were already burned, after thorough consideration.
He then looked to Baron Balfe and Azeryan and immediately issued an order:
“Gather our army.
We march at once to attack Fenlidun.”
Next, he turned to the former refugee leader.
“Sir Rone.”
“Present!” Rone responded firmly, standing with resolute determination.
“Lead your Mercenary Group and join our advance.
Baron Yevan will rejoin your forces beneath Fenlidun City.” Leon bypassed Lunaf without hesitation, issuing a direct order to the Griffin Mercenary Group.
Since Lunaf insisted on handing the Alliance’s command to him, Leon saw no reason to play coy.
He would openly exercise this authority.
“Understood.” Rone accepted the order without hesitation.
Compared to serving the Baldim family, he preferred to pledge allegiance to the Griffin Baron standing before him, who had saved him twice.
Finally, Leon’s gaze landed on Count Lunaf, and he asked: “Count Lunaf, how many troops can the Baldim family provide to assist me?”
Lunaf pondered briefly before replying: “At least 1,000 troops are needed to escort the provisions from Hageshtan, and I must leave another 1,000 troops at the main encampment for unforeseen events.
I can only spare 2,000 troops.”
Leon nodded: “Two thousand it is.
Prepare quickly; the army is about to set off.”
Ending the meeting, he watched as Balfe and Azeryan immediately went to the barracks to organize the troops.
Then he turned back and instructed Kovis: “Acro, make another trip to Hageshtan Castle.
Inform Commander Irem and Olivia that once Lunaf’s supply convoy arrives, they must immediately lead their forces to Fenlidun City to join the main army.”
