Knights and Magic Wand
Chapter 420 - 420 198 Demon_2

420: Chapter 198 Demon_2 420: Chapter 198 Demon_2 Hearing this suggestion, Leon helplessly gestured to the princess: “There’s really no need for that, Your Highness.

The Cursed Land is full of terrible abominations, and ordinary people who do not know the right way are very likely to be possessed by demons and lose their sanity upon stepping in.

In such a state, not only would they be unable to assist, but they might even turn their blades against their own comrades.

I’ve already experienced this for myself when I was escaping from the Nightmare Forest.”

“Is it really that terrifying?

Then, has Marquis Orad, who has been inside for so long, already…?” Ines raised her eyebrows slightly.

Leon ambiguously explained: “Now we can only hope that his will is strong enough.

If he’s lucky, his body may not have fully transformed into a Demon Body, and perhaps there’s still time to expel the evil spirit…”

“You may find it hard to believe, but the flow of time within the Cursed Land is very chaotic.

Who knows, for Marquis Orad who is trapped there, it might seem as if he has just stepped into that realm.

Of course, it might be the other way around; maybe ten days or half a month have already passed inside.”

“Time flows differently?

There are such wonders in this world?” Ines blinked her long eyelashes, her eyes full of surprise.

“Yes, so once I’m inside, you just need to leave a few people behind to set up camp and wait.

With luck, I might return in the blink of an eye, but if I don’t come back for a long time, there’s no need to worry too much.” Leon halted his speech, stood up from the chair, ready to depart immediately: “When there’s a chance in the future, I will explain in detail to Your Highness, but right now I need to race against time.”

“May the gods bless you, and wish you a safe return.”

Ines also stood up and came forward to offer her blessings.

She had heard that the interior of the Cursed Land was even more dangerous and exaggerated than depicted in folktales, which made her frown slightly.

Marquis Orad’s disappearance was indeed a big trouble, but if they lost such a pleasant company and a promising knight who had high chances of being recruited to their cause…

Seeing him salute and turn to leave, Ines spontaneously reached out and grabbed Leon’s arm armor: “Wait.”

“Hmm?

Is there anything else you would like to instruct?”

Leon stopped, turned back, and looked in confusion at the princess in front of him.

Ines turned her head and dismissed the nearby Magician, Harvey.

Once he had left and only Agatha and Leon remained inside the tent, the young girl motioned to him and whispered: “Come closer, don’t let the Loman people outside hear…”

It couldn’t be helped; Baron Leon was a big fellow, towering over eight feet tall by the looks of it, and even on tiptoes, she couldn’t reach his ear.

Perplexed, Leon obliged and leaned his head down, wondering what required such cautious whispering.

Ines gave a mischievous smile, using her fan as cover, and whispered: “No matter what, I have ways to explain to Duke Loman.

It is, of course, best if you can rescue Orad, but if you can only bring back his body, whether due to the malevolence you mentioned or some ‘accidents’, it’s also fine.”

“Do not force it if it is not feasible… Prioritize your own safety on this journey.

Orland cannot afford to lose an outstanding knight, you are more important to me… than that guy…”

Leon raised his eyebrows; no wonder he was not to let the people from Loman Territory outside hear it.

But what was that last part about?

This compliment, why does it feel so…

Ambiguous?

…After leaving the princess’s tent and turning a few corners.

Instinctively, Leon lifted his hand to touch his earlobe, which still tingled from the breath that had brushed against it.

It was ticklish, as if still retaining some warmth.

Olivia’s mocking face suddenly came to mind, and Leon felt a pang of guilt, quickening his pace toward Death Claw.

…Best to finish this mission and get back home quickly; the women out here are a bit too much to handle.

Arriving at Griffin’s holding area overseen by Kovis, Leon once again mounted the high saddle of Death Claw.

After taking to the sky, he circled at a distance and followed the knight sent by Ines to guide him all the way to where Orad had inadvertently strayed into the enchanted territory.

He directed Griffin to land on a high ground in front of the strange scenery.

Leon turned his head, glancing curiously at the Eastern Border Horror Wolf Cavalry encamped not far away.

A large group of massive, ferocious wolves, baring their teeth at the descending Griffin, gnashed their sharp fangs, emitting threatening growls.

Some were agitated, but they didn’t show the terror or collapse in fear akin to warhorses, proving themselves as a group of courageous and fierce War Beasts.

Although Death Claw, at all times, never cast a glance at those howling wolves.

Business was pressing.

Leon quickly withdrew his gaze, no longer paying attention to the unhelpful Loman Horror Wolf Cavalry.

He looked forward to the landscape with the ghostly visual signature of enchanted territory, recognizing the wilderness before him.

Especially the woods in the distance, where he had fought Emmon before.

Bowing his head, Leon patted the back of the Griffin.

…The way ahead is dangerous, do you want to stay behind?

Feeling Leon’s question, Death Claw simply shook its head, then proudly raised its massive eagle head with a single horn.

A resounding and majestic roar immediately echoed in the open sky.

Akin to a sonic boom, the roar sent the Horror Wolves on the other side bristling.

Each giant wolf pinned back its ears, and their previously deep growls fell silent in an instant.

Receiving such an arrogant reply, Leon gave an apologetic smile.

Raising his hand, he recalled his Magic Wand from the sky in its Elemental State, circling it around his right arm.

With a jingle from his left hand guiding the iron reins, Leon, with Kovis aboard Death Claw, took off from the high hill and headed straight towards the Cursed Land…

……

Today is…

Leon blinked, his breathing somewhat labored.
