Chapter 390 - 390 186 Ruins

390: Chapter 186: Ruins?

Tomb?_3 390: Chapter 186: Ruins?

Tomb?_3 As the last few three-legged mechanisms were about to be smashed into scrap metal under the joint beating of the warriors, Leon suddenly realized what was happening and rushed over, severing the mechanical limbs with two quick swipes and kicking the contraption to the ground.

He then dispelled the Molten Flame Swordsmanship, sheathed his sword, and turned to order the soldiers to forcibly restrain the Dwarf mechanical that had lost its “weapons.”

He wanted to keep one or two “alive” as spoils of war, drag them back to the Mage Tower, and see if Lola could control the damn things.

Self-autonomous robots, sigh.

And so flexible too, without any visible operator—this would be considered quite advanced even in his previous world.

Could it be that some sort of magic version of “artificial intelligence” programming was loaded inside them?

Leon shook his head as he watched the mechanical wriggling its three legs while being tied up and dragged by the soldiers after falling to the ground, walked to the edge of the platform’s cliff, and raised his hand to feel the magic link that was imperceptible but there.

A streak of light flew back into his hand from the abyss a hundred meters away.

After flipping the Netti Card to its front and seeing the slightly dimmed light of the Canis Card, Leon let out a sigh.

Canis, dead again.

He hoped that two deaths wouldn’t bring too much of a psychological shadow to the Wolf Family Young Master.

Turning around to return to the wary formation of soldiers, they were bandaging a few comrades who had been inadvertently injured, though none of the injuries were fatal.

Those swarming three-legged mechanisms seemed to only have one fixed action logic without any combat intelligence.

Their two clumsily moving mechanical limbs, although powerful enough to split stone and metal, had equally apparent weaknesses.

Once the trick to them had been found, they might not be any more dangerous to elite career soldiers than a human warrior of the same level.

Had there not been so many, there might not have even been any injured.

Turning his head back, Leon looked at the Magic Statue’s remains that he and Larian had jointly taken down,

The massive metal carcass was still emitting alarm sounds.

Too bad it was too big, and who knows if it would explode like the previous one did; Leon couldn’t afford to take a risk of taking it back as spoils of war, as it would be no fun if it blew up halfway there.

Just as he was thinking of leaving as soon as the warriors had regrouped, Leon saw Kovis running towards him with something to say.

“My Lord, over there, where the Magic Statue exploded…

it seems to have blasted open a cave,” Kovis pointed at the staircase base of the Dwarf statue.

A cave?

Leon looked in that direction.

Indeed, the strange magma from the Magic Statue’s self-destruction had melted a big hole on the high staircase that they had passed by earlier—the red-hot and not yet cooled rock opening was particularly stark in the darkness.

A word suddenly crashed into Leon’s mind.

…Could it be?

Dwarf treasure!?

Recalling the classic fantasy movies from his past life, Leon almost saw a glimpse of dazzling gold and treasure shining within the cave.

My precious!

“Let’s go, take a look,” Leon rubbed his hands, calling his companions and guards to cautiously approach the cave accidentally blown open.

After all this trouble stirred up by those damn robots, it would be unreasonable for those dwarves not to hide something here.

There ought to be some “victory settlement,” at the very least.

Filled with anticipation, Leon cautiously moved to the hot entrance of the cave, took down the Spirit Lamp, and shone it inside.

“Is this, a tomb?” Olivia also peered in curiously.

Inside the space that extended downward in front of them, the faint glow of the Spirit Lamp revealed several rows of “Stone Coffins” carved with Herren-style patterns.

Leon suddenly felt a bit disappointed.

In the dusty space, apart from rows of coffins, there were none of the mountains of gold and silver he had imagined.

Of course, that was to say nothing of whether there were any burial goods inside these slightly shorter-than-human-sized coffins.

But…

grave robbing…

was that alright?

Leon scratched his head, his sense of morality making him somewhat hesitant, but then he reconsidered and felt assured.

This was an ancient tomb from a thousand years ago, not of his contemporaries.

As long as he carefully preserved the remains of the tomb’s masters and honestly looked after the dwarves’ belongings, it was fine.

As the lord of this land and the real government authority, how could this be called grave robbing?

This was called archaeological excavation, rescuing relics.

Cough cough, it wasn’t their concern that the hole was blasted open; it was exploded by the dwarves’ own thing.

Leon felt that the blame couldn’t be laid at his feet—he hadn’t even asked the ancient dwarves to pay the medical bills for his injured soldiers yet.

However, they had to be cautious when opening the coffins; wandering souls did exist in this world.

Carelessly unveiling the coffins of the dead, especially in a place like the Nightmare Forest, once the Cursed Land, it wouldn’t be strange for a row of “Dwarf Rice Dumplings” to pop out.

Just as he was about to let Kovis’s Flying Sword go in to explore for more mechanisms, he suddenly heard the sound of a stone coffin lid moving.

Uh?

The dead were really rising!?

He quickly used the lantern to shine toward the source of the sound.

One of the “Stone Coffins” not far from the cave entrance was indeed being pushed aside by a large armored hand inside.

A face full of beard and deep wrinkles sat up from the coffin.

Before Leon could clearly see with the lantern’s green glow whether it was an ancient Living Corpse, he found that this suspected “Dwarf Rice Dumpling” had stretched out a left hand from the coffin, astonishingly holding a shape of “tool” that was very familiar and nostalgic to Leon.

(In Herren language)

“Damn it!

Bloody Demon bastards!

You’ve found me again, go to hell!” Hem cursed as he raised the Molten Fire Pistol in his hand towards the eerie, green-glowing faces outside the cave and pulled the trigger.

Boom—!

Fuck me!

Leon immediately pulled everyone outside the cave to quickly dodge.

A gunshot rang out, and a red fiery trajectory whizzed past him, flying into the pitch-dark sky.
