Knights and Magic Wand -
Chapter 363 - 363 176 Magic Wand
363: Chapter 176 Magic Wand 363: Chapter 176 Magic Wand Entering the Mage Tower was like slipping into a second skin, having made the journey so many times.
It wasn’t strange for Leon to arrive without catching Olivia on her way out.
“Lola~!
Are you there?”
He called out while ascending the staircase, intending to search the upper floors for Miss Mage or Nedi, who lodged in the Netti Card.
Times had changed, and Avalon had become his territory.
Even if he happened to find Lola engaged with the earth veins slowing down the Magic Power, Leon had plenty of time to wait for her emergence from the card.
If he grew bored to tears, he could always nap in Lady Aphrodite’s room.
Leon figured the Magic Master had been resting for a thousand years; surely, a snooze on her unused bed that spanned the same time frame wouldn’t be offensive.
As he passed through the second floor, with these thoughts in mind, the sound of a sliding lock halted his steps.
Certainly, the one opening the door couldn’t be Aphrodite.
The white-clad Miss Mage emerged from the bedroom, her golden eyes locking onto Leon on the stairwell.
“…Here I am~, no need to shout.”
“Were you sleeping just now?” Leon, seeing his mentor and benefactor, perked up instinctively and hurriedly apologized with embarrassment, “Sorry, did I disturb you again?”
Lola glanced at him with disdain, “How many times have I told you, a Spiritual Body like mine, sustained by Magic Power, doesn’t need sleep…
I just happened to return to the card in her room recently.”
She didn’t leave the room after speaking, instead casually turned back and beckoned, “Don’t just stand there like an idiot, come in.
What brings you to see me this time?”
Leon quickly followed her in.
Entering the room, he smiled at Lola, who had settled back by the bedside, “I’ve got good news.
The fortress outside the tower now belongs to me – of course, I mean in the eyes of the outside world, I have no intention of usurping Lady Aphrodite’s legacy.”
“It’s fine, that little fortress never held much value or significance for Aphrodite.
Whether it’s passed to the descendants of her Guards or to you, it doesn’t matter much,” Lola shook her head.
Leon sat down on a chair nearby, taking in the vastness of the room, “Once I move into the fortress and settle down, I’ll come here every day for lessons and chat with you.
Seeing you all alone in the tower all the time, I really worry you might get bored.”
Bored?
Lola’s delicate eyebrows arched slightly.
Although she could withstand time and the years, these days of following him were far from “boring.”
“You’re quite self-assured, believing I’d get bored in the tower?
Wouldn’t daily visits be a bother to me?”
“Would they be?
Then I’ll try to come less often?” Leon said, somewhat embarrassed.
Lola frowned and jabbed a finger, “Don’t even think about it, you’re already my disciple.
If you have time and neglect your studies like before, I won’t let you off the hook.”
Leon could only respond with a smirk.
Suddenly remembering something, he asked, “Aside from me, if my friends encounter trouble and I’m not around, like Olivia and Kovis — if they come to seek your help in the tower, would that bother you?”
Lola shook her head, “Those kids?
It doesn’t matter; helping you is also helping myself.”
After speaking, she raised her hand to signal to Leon, “Come here.”
Leon was puzzled, “What for?”
Lola winked slyly, persuading nonchalantly, “Of course, to perform a routine check to ensure you haven’t been slacking off.
Let me see the efficiency of Magic Element circulation in your body.”
Leon had no choice but to stand up and approach.
He was still apprehensive following the last lesson when Lola’s seemingly delicate hands proved their strength on his cheeks, rivaling Olivia’s firm grip.
“Please don’t pinch me this time; I may be dull, but I’ve diligently worked on my tasks and have made lots of progress.
If you don’t believe me, I can demonstrate,” Leon said, startled as Miss Mage reached for his face again.
Lola, sitting on the bed, spoke without amusement, “Alright, come here and squat down.
Do you really want me to fly towards you?”
“Oh.” Leon obliged, leaning forward to offer his head obediently.
But inwardly, he was doubtful; last time, she had merely glanced at him before judging his Magic Power progress and delivering her pinch as punishment.
Why would she need to make contact this close?
Lola paid no heed to Leon’s thoughts, focusing instead on the face close before her as realization dawned in her heart, which caused her to be slightly taken aback.
She extended her hands and gently caressed Leon’s brows and eyes, the gold in her clear blue eyes briefly escaping into a trance.
Changing…
still changing.
Leon, reassured by the careful examination without reprisal, asked, “Did you notice anything?”
As the beautiful girl touched him, the cool but tender fingertips caused Leon’s heart to flutter with inappropriate stirrings.
He swiftly recalled the image of Olivia in her white and blue attire, and, remembering his commitment to her, Leon managed to calm his racing heart.
“Nothing detected, Magic Element circulation is good,” Lola smiled.
However, recalling something, her smile disappeared, replaced by a hint of reproach on her face as she pointed forcefully at Leon’s forehead to push his head away.
“…You’re simply indiscriminate, indulging in excess!
Be careful not to shorten your life,” Miss Mage sternly chided.
Pushed back by her finger, Leon stumbled before he rose, skeptically.
“What?…
You can tell that?
Shortening my life?
…Really?”
Lola gave this frivolous young man a glare.
She remembered how he once pompously told Olivia…
that he would reserve that precious night for their future union.
But hadn’t this scoundrel tried everything but the final step on Olivia’s considerate child?
