Knights and Magic Wand -
Chapter 222 - 222 118 Causality_2
222: Chapter 118 Causality_2 222: Chapter 118 Causality_2 Miss Mage shook her head, “I can sense the changes in the surrounding environment, such as your arrival, but I don’t have a clear field of vision…
What’s wrong?
Why do you ask?”
“Ah, no reason, I’m just worried about your safety since there will be more people in the city in the future,” Leon said with a smirk.
It was good that she hadn’t seen it, as if she had witnessed his earlier rudeness, Miss Mage might have fetched her Magic Wand and given him a knock on the head, administering justice on behalf of Lady Aphrodite’s friend.
“Do I possess Magic Power now, and is it time to use that Silver Token to try summoning an assistant?” Leon shifted the topic, addressing the matter at hand.
“The top of the tower has been prepared for the ceremony, but first lower your head so I can check…
I need to inspect the amount of Magic Power within your body,” Lola beckoned to him.
Upon hearing this, Leon obediently drew close and bowed his head towards Miss Mage.
Lola’s eyes flashed as she placed her hand on his forehead and closed her eyes, letting her mental consciousness probe into him.
After a moment, she opened her eyes, withdrew her hand, and the doubts and strange sensations that had been accumulating in her heart became increasingly strong and uncontrollable.
“Is that all?” Leon stood up straight.
“…” Lola, lost in thoughts, nodded her head and turned to leave the workshop, “Let’s go, take the Silver Token with you, and head to the top floor.”
Leon picked up the silver Netti Card from the table and quickly followed her steps.
Arriving at the upper levels of the tower, he saw the Armor and War Axe of the Flame Sun Guard that had turned into an Undead, already arranged by Lola at the center of the space.
“Right, I wanted to ask you, during my training, I’ve inadvertently discovered that by combining Magic Power with my body and weapon, I can deliver actual attacks.
Kovis said it’s strange for Magic Elements of my level to efficiently translate into powers that affect the physical realm.
Do you know what’s going on?”
Leon asked, then suddenly smiled proudly, “Could it be that I am truly a genius?”
Just as Lola was about to activate the ceremony array, she raised her delicate eyebrows and turned to look at him, “Affect the physical?
Are you saying that you can now control the release of Magic Power outside of your body?”
“How about I give a demonstration so you can see if there’s anything you can instruct me on?” Leon suggested.
“Well, give it a try,” Lola said with interest.
Under her training methods, the Magic Elements inside him, after more than a month of intense circulation, had barely reached a level of growth that ordinary people would require at least five years to achieve.
But as a layman, such thin Magic Elements might stimulate his physique’s development, but they wouldn’t be able to release externally without physical media, let alone form proper Magic Techniques…
unless…
Leon drew his long sword, raised the blade horizontally, concentrated his spirit to gather Magic Elements, and then thrust straight out into the empty space, releasing a Magic Shock.
——Bang!
A sound of air exploding, a visible shockwave spread in front of the sword tip, and the resulting blast lightly brushed against Miss Mage’s robe.
Lola’s eyes narrowed slightly.
After lowering his long sword, Leon turned to Miss Mage and shrugged, “Without using the Treasure Card to enhance my body, this is all I can do for now.”
“Did you consciously control the release of Magic Power outside your body?” Lola asked blandly.
“I don’t know if what you’re talking about as conscious control is this feeling – like extending part of my body outward, though not too far…
Is that not normal?” Leon asked, puzzled.
“Being able to manipulate Magic Elements is not strange.
Everyone can control their body through the reaction of elements transmitted by soul consciousness; it just depends on the level and method of training.
However, for a beginner in the Magic Way, to release energy without physical contact and yet be able to constrain and affect it, your spiritual consciousness is indeed extraordinarily superior to ordinary people.
My judgment was not wrong.
Even in the times when Ancient Lorelette still existed, you possessed exceptional talent to embark on the Magic Path.
For now…
keep up with your training; I will teach you how to apply more Magic reactions,” Lola explained softly, then turned back without saying more.
She raised her Magic Wand and tapped the ground, instantly opening the ceremony array.
The light flourished, and winds of Magic Power suddenly swirled up.
Looking at the enormous Magic Pattern Formation that filled the entire Mage Tower, Leon hurriedly sheathed his sword, taking out the Silver Token from his belt pocket, and raised it before him in a Dharma Seal.
Her white robe billowing in the wind and her snow-colored hair flowing behind her, Miss Mage’s golden eyes looked towards Leon, “Repeat after me…”
Lola began speaking, and her melodious voice invoked the spell that would beckon the Undead from the Dead Sea:
(Ancient Lorelette Language)
“Recite the True Word, in the name of Aphrodisia Netti, request the Netherworld to open its gates, to fulfill the eternal contract with the Dragon of the Dead Sea, Yin Nie…”
Leon listened attentively to Miss Lora’s ancient utterances, repeating the ceremonial spell he had practiced many times before.
Atop the hidden Mage Tower, power began to gather, ever-increasing in magnitude.
Above the canopy of the sky, the light dimmed as the sun was obscured by dark clouds, stirring up chaotic elements and thunderous lightning.
Inside Avalon City, bewildered soldiers and workers alike started looking up.
The blue sky, clear just moments ago, was now swirling with thick clouds.
Amidst the reaction of Natural Magic, bright Lightning slashed through, thundering loudly.
At the top of the Mage Tower, Leon’s consciousness slighty dipped into blurry perception.
…A vast echo of ancient resonance washed over my ears….
Years of hardship were shouldered.
Laughter, pain, anger, sorrow….
Time flowed through the soul.
Monstrous roars tore the heavens asunder, and loyal warriors took heavy steps, causing the earth to tremble with them.
Battle cries were incessant, and with bloodied weapons grasped, Leon gazed upon the fields bathed in the dying light of sunset.
Dark, overwhelming shadows descended, casting endless terror, as blood red seeped into the earth, and bodies piled up like mountains.
The sacred flame rose and fell.
The beautiful purple flowers bloomed within the heart, then withered away….
Leon opened his eyes.
The silver Netti Card in his hand had already vanished.
And there stood a towering figure, holding a war axe, at the center of the array.
The heavy Forbidden Magic Armor was draped with a battle cloak, which settled down as the magic vortex calmed.
Even before Leon could recite the contract spell, the resurrected Flame Sun Guard, stirring his axe handle with a thud, bent one knee and bowed in homage.
“In adherence to my lord, Lady Netti’s command, Galron Farolis has crossed the Dead Sea to answer your summons and serve you,” the warrior pledged.
Feeling a surge of immense magic flow intertwining within his spirit, Leon hesitated whether to accept this sudden power or not, then looked to Miss Mage beside him, whose face revealed stunned realization.
“The contract is sealed.
There’s no need to resist.
This Forbidden Guard has willingly complied with the Netti Card’s Magic Technique, pledging allegiance to you,” explained Lola, her lips curving into an involuntary smirk.
Could Aphrodite still maintain consciousness?
It seemed her situation in the Dead Sea might not be as dire as I had thought.
Leon turned his head and gazed upon the ancient Forbidden Guard kneeling before him, voicing the first question that sprang to mind: “Your surname…
is it Farolis?”
…
…
…The heavy doors slowly closed.
After Leon departed with the silver token bearing the soul of a hero, quiet resumed within the Mage Tower.
Lola curled up on the throne, her gaze unfocused, lost in deep thought.
A long time passed.
Miss Mage rose from the silence.
She waved her Magic Wand, dissipating her own Magic Techniques, and voluntarily dispelled her Spiritual Body’s manifestation.
Her form dissolved into dazzling light, and the golden Netti Card solidified once again.
But the Mage’s Spirit did not return to the card.
The golden token gently landed on the throne.
The card, once depicting a white-haired girl, was now void of her image…
The unnatural clouds had dispersed, and bright sunshine once again bathed the lands of Avalon Castle.
The short-lived heavenly phenomena had caused some commotion in the city, but luckily it arrived swiftly and vanished just as quickly.
Leon walked down the long steps, returning to Fountain Square.
He approached the fence at the edge of the high ground, overlooking the figures below in the city.
Drawing the silver token from his pocket.
Looking at it, there upon the card, the Flame Sun Guard inverted his long spear as he slew some ferocious monster.
Leon felt an indescribable absurdity within his heart.
At the moment, he was serving the Farolis Family.
However, the very founder of the Thorny Flower Family who created it,
The original head of the Thorny Flower Family, who ruled over the land of Kosos before Klonia unified the North, had just pledged his allegiance to him.
Ah…
This relationship?
Am I the boss of my boss’s boss?
