Chapter 218 - 218 116 Wing Helmet_3
218: Chapter 116 Wing Helmet_3 218: Chapter 116 Wing Helmet_3 Olivia looked at Leon, silent and scrutinizing Lokhak’s headdress.
For no reason, the young girl looked down at her beautiful dress.
Her mood suddenly became complex.
Leon seemed very satisfied with the Wing Helmet.
But these things, no matter their value, were ultimately meant to express gratitude for the life-saving kindness of three friends.
Yet this dress was a gift given solely to her by Leon.
Olivia lowered her face and gently caressed the ribbon at her collar, a surge of urgent courage rising within her.
It wasn’t enough.
She wanted to respond, to reciprocate the affection he always poured out for her.
“Leon.”
“Hmm?” Leon turned, responding to the girl beside him who was looking down, clutching her hands at her heart.
“Actually, I have…”
Olivia’s voice hesitated, unsure how to describe the sudden bold action she contemplated.
Can you close your eyes first?” she asked, her cheeks flushed as she turned her back to him, her voice growing fainter.
“You have another gift for me?” Leon probed, puzzled by her request.
“Just close your eyes for now,” Olivia insisted with a smaller voice, pleading as she turned away from him.
“Alright, what could it be?
So mysterious,” Leon chuckled, wondering if she was imitating his own teasing from before.
He obliged his lover’s request, faithfully closing his eyes, curious about what more could come from the girl, aside from the Wing Helmet that had already left him extremely satisfied.
Listening to the girl’s footsteps as she turned around.
Leon listened with closed eyes, anticipating that Olivia was about to present another surprise.
The next moment.
He felt his cheeks being cradled by the girl’s hands.
Led by that force, he tilted his head slightly downward.
A particularly soft touch gently pressed against his lips…
The sunlight cast a chequered curtain of light and shadow through the door.
The girl in the white dress and blue skirt was quickly embraced tightly by the knight in silver armor…
…
…
A long procession was making its way down the ancient forest path.
Kovis, carrying the Square Banner, urged his horse closer to Leon, tapping the Knight’s Arm Armor in exasperation.
“My Lord?…
My Lord!”
He had to call out several times before the young man roused his daydreaming Lord from his stupor.
“Huh?” Leon snapped back to reality from the sweet memories of the previous day.
He pursed his lips, still savoring the bold yet shy first kiss from his lover.
He couldn’t help but relive his own unabashedly passionate response.
It was quite the deep kiss.
Until Olivia curled up in his arms, her face flushed red, her breath ragged, too disheveled to lift her head, and adorably so.
“We’re almost there.
Lord Eriv seems to be ahead calling for you.”
Kovis looked at the distracted Leon, finding the situation rather amusing.
The young man knew the progress of the two’s relationship, but…
Was a mere kiss worth being so dazed for so long?
“Oh, I’ll go check it out.”
Oblivious to the teasing of his battle-hardened comrade beside him, Leon temporarily set aside his triumph, spurred his horse, and quickly rode to the front of the marching column.
His swift horse brought him to Baron Eriv, who had stopped at the pass at the mountain’s neck.
“My Lord, you called for me?” Leon pulled up his Warhorse beside the Sealing Lord, inquiring.
He saw Baron Thorny Flower staring blankly into the distance, his gaze lingering deeply on the ancient fortress built against the cliff in the River Valley.
Eriv didn’t turn around, heaving a long sigh.
“Sometimes, one simply has to admit, perhaps the gods are toying with our fates at all times.”
Leon furrowed his brow, not understanding the reason for his sentiment.
“You’ve come here several times before.
Take a good look at the terrain here,” Eriv gestured to Leon, pointing toward the River Valley in front of them.
Leon looked as instructed but could see nothing significant.
Seeing no reaction from him, Eriv waved his hand with sudden realization, “It seems you didn’t pay much attention to that map before.”
Leon suddenly realized what he was referring to, “Do you mean the parchment map you burned before?”
The Baron nodded with a wry smile, “My ancestors pursued it desperately, sacrificing lives generation after generation, yet for nothing.
When I made up my mind to give up this ancient obsession that shouldn’t belong to me, it came before me…
Isn’t this a cruel joke played by fate?”
