Knights and Magic Wand
Chapter 210 - 210 114 Square Banner Knight

210: Chapter 114 Square Banner Knight 210: Chapter 114 Square Banner Knight As a reminder signal, the loud horn sounded leisurely from the top of the Observation Tower.

Along the winding road down the hillside, the procession bearing the Thorny Flower banners, greeted by Leon and others, slowly entered Selva.

Although a letter had arrived earlier to prepare them for Baron Eriv’s arrival, the scale of the Farolis family’s military procession was still much larger than Leon had anticipated.

Several Thorny Flower Knights led a hundred Heavy Cavalry, followed by hundreds of Red Robed Soldiers from Farolis City, wearing pot helmets, nose protectors, and Chain Armor.

The end of the procession was trailed by a long line of civilian supply wagons.

Initially, Leon worried about how Selva could accommodate this formidable force of thousands.

Fortunately, most soldiers and civilians did not stay but continued through the village and onward to the Thorny Flower’s eastern supply camps.

Baron Eriv, having been forewarned of Leon’s hair color change, was not too surprised; strange phenomena related to Magic were not uncommon for a noble of his standing.

After a brief exchange of greetings, he proceeded with his accompanying Knights and Guards to the ceremonial hall.

In the Sealing Lord’s procession, Leon caught a glimpse of an unexpected distinguished guest.

Lady Adelina, clad in a long robe and hooded, had also come with her husband.

Seeing the Baroness nod hello to him with a smile, her face hidden beneath the hood, Leon quickly summoned servants to add a chair for the Baroness on the upper right side of the council hall.

But he was stopped just in time by Baron Eriv himself.

“Do not fuss, Adelina will not attend the ceremony,” the Baron shook his head at Leon.

Leon had to temporarily suppress his questions.

Following the formal proceedings, the gathering did not start with a banquet.

Instead, the ceremony of conferring the title began immediately.

Inside and outside the open doors, the Guards in Selva’s Sword Wing Black Robes and Farolis City’s Red Robes, armed and standing tall, guarded the entrance to the hall to prevent any disruptions to the ceremony.

In the brightly lit hall, the Baron took his seat.

Knights and Attendants from Farolis stood to the right.

The people of Selva stood to the left.

The Knights were not without seats, but in the solemn conferring ceremony, most had to stand to witness the proceedings.

Not only were Azeryan and Lokhak by Leon’s side, but Kovis and Mr.

Brian Sr.

were also qualified to be present.

Olivia, too, followed behind Kovis, curiously surveying this solemn ceremony.

Since not everyone had proper attire, they substituted with neatly maintained Armor; the six in Armor, though all quite young except for Mr.

Brian Sr., did not look out of place in formality.

Leon still remembered that the girl had regretted not witnessing their previous Knighting ceremony; this time, he made sure she did not miss it.

Now aware of her identity, Leon wasn’t worried about Olivia appearing before Baron Eriv, as the current Baron Thorny Flower, who had never met the girl’s real parents, was unlikely to recognize her.

Leon’s eyes briefly met those of some familiar Thorny Flower Knights across the hall.

Normally not giving much thought to those around him, standing amidst a crowd of strangers made the contrast stark, and he suddenly realized that he had grown much taller without noticing.

Stealthily, Leon glanced at Azeryan and Lokhak beside him.

The comparison with Lokhak was unclear since he remained a tall and burly figure, making Leon think he hadn’t changed at all.

But comparing himself carefully with Azeryan…

he realized he was already a good half head taller than the noble youth.

Leon silently measured in his mind,

Estimating that his seventeen-year-old body had grown astonishingly, already surpassing six feet in height, no wonder he felt his plate armor fit better lately.

His height was now similar to that of the robust Knights, and his physique was still rapidly developing.

Whether it was due to a good diet and growth or the effect of constant Magic Element circulation stimulating his body under recent rigorous training…

Farolis’s Attendants, as arranged, unfurled the Thorns Flower family banner next to the Baron.

“May the ancient gods watch over us.

Here on this land, you gather to witness a loyal Knight being bestowed a glorious honor,” Baron Eriv loudly declared the start of the ceremony, eyes admiringly on the Selva contingents led by Leon.

He hadn’t expected to confer such a high title to a young man knighted only three months ago so soon.

Such a rapid ascent from a civilian to a subordinate knight, then directly to a Square Banner Knight was a rare feat in the entire history of Orland.

But Baron Eriv did not think his decision was hasty.

On the contrary, he even regretted not being able to offer more generous rewards to this seemingly inexhaustible treasure of a young man…

If not for a reminder from his wife, he would have considered selecting one of his sensible daughters to marry this youth, binding the fate-blessed young man firmly into his family.

Unfortunately…

Baron Eriv glanced at the pretty girl in Armor hidden behind the crowd.

Blocked by his perceptive wife, he then knew that this child likely had a girl he fancied.

Rushing into a marriage alliance might backfire…
