Knights and Magic Wand -
Chapter 133 - 133 85 Netti Card
133: Chapter 85: Netti Card 133: Chapter 85: Netti Card Walking onto the platform corridors on both sides of the circular hall, Leon easily found the staircase leading upwards.
Before stepping onto the stairs, however, he couldn’t help but look towards the side of the staircase.
There, a raised iron-barred gate was present.
The space behind the gate, accommodating two or three people, resembled an antique yet exquisite…
elevator?
He was immediately shocked by the advanced features of the Mage Tower.
He didn’t know what the interior mechanism of the elevator was, surely it wasn’t an actual “electric” elevator, was it?
“Can I go upstairs using the platform behind that gate?” Leon curiously asked Lola.
“…the power source probably has no magic power left, and besides, the hauling winch hasn’t been maintained for a long time, you better just climb the stairs.”
Lola clearly advised against using the facility in the long-neglected building.
Leon thus gave up on the idea of trying the magical elevator from another world, just in case of an emergency since there’s no emergency hotline to call here.
Honestly climbing the staircase that spiraled upward, he reached the higher floors of the Mage Tower.
The second floor above the circular hall featured a guest room and space for everyday activities.
The third floor housed Lady Aphrodite’s bedroom and living area.
The fourth floor was a spacious library, giant circular bookshelves stood against the walls, densely packed with large volumes of books and bundles, which made Leon’s head spin.
The fifth floor served as a storage room, filled with various materials and devices that Leon did not understand, and it was uncertain if they still served any purpose after being stored for so long.
However, the sight of what looked like gold ingots, silver ingots, and some beautiful gems, unidentifiable by Leon, indeed caught his eye.
It was only when he reached the sixth floor that Leon found the mage workshop and laboratory that Lola had mentioned.
One more level above, but that was simply an empty tower platform.
In the relatively tidy workshop, under Lola’s guidance, Leon soon stopped in front of a large table laden with manuscripts.
The items that Miss Mage needed weren’t hard to find, as those pages that looked like notebook manuscripts were plainly spread out on the table.
Beside the manuscripts, there were also some cards scattered around, similar to the gold-framed crystal squares in Leon’s hand.
These crystal cards varied in size and color, some even lacked frames, likely being incomplete or defective.
These items were deliberately piled together, as if Lady Aphrodite intended for visitors to see them.
Picking up the white manuscript paper that had lain there for who knows how many years, the toughness of the touch once again made Leon inexplicably reflective.
Everything inside this Mage Fortress had a “style” drastically different from the era outside, from what he had seen so far, Leon felt like this world had gone through a major technological discontinuity.
His gaze returned to the sheets of paper filled with strange structures, demon runes, and notes.
Hmm, indeed incomprehensible.
Not just the research content displayed in the manuscript notes, but every single character on the paper was foreign to Leon.
He was certain the beautifully written words by Lady Aphrodite were neither in Felu nor in Urian, but some looked like the runes Lola had taught him to carve on the ground.
Of course, Leon didn’t need to understand these complex manuscripts, his purpose for coming up was merely to be a human “camera” for Miss Lola.
Pulling out a chair and sitting down, he began flipping through the blueprints and notes on the table as directed by Miss Mage.
At first, he was worried Lola might not see clearly, so he carefully scanned each page.
But Lola read with a speed that couldn’t even be described as glancing through ten lines at once, she almost immediately started urging him on.
Leon then realized that what truly limited Miss Mage’s reading speed was actually his own pace of turning pages.
He instantly switched to quantum reading mode, his eyes “scanning” through the material rapidly, and it didn’t take long before he had flipped through the enigmatic manuscripts to the end.
Lola sighed inwardly…
She understood Aphrodite’s perilous experiments…
No wonder she not only harnessed the power of the Spirit Realm but also conducted such a ritual with the Dragon of the Dead Sea.
But what is lost can never truly be recreated.
“This person is still the same, seemingly clever but actually the most impractical…
the silliest one…”
“Er,” Leon couldn’t help but speak out, “Your disciple in the past wanted to see you so badly from beyond life and death, her image even moved an outsider like me.
Isn’t it a bit harsh to criticize her this way?”
Recalling the ethereal wishes and attachments of that Purple Robed Lady…
Leon even wondered if she might have had a subtly intimate mentor-disciple relationship with Miss Lola.
Lola’s voice faltered, “Disciple?
What disciple?”
Hearing the strange tone in the internal voice of Miss Mage, Leon’s eyebrows involuntarily rose.
“That Lady Aphrodite, doesn’t she call you Teacher Illaril?…
Aren’t you surnamed Illaril?” Leon scratched his head.
Ah, had he assumed wrongly?
—That’s right, if Lola said that was just a magic illusion, then the lady’s initial words on the throne were naturally pre-recorded images, not spoken live to Lola.
The so-called seeing through the impressions inside Lola’s soul…
probably were just illusions from his own overly active imagination when faced with those unique eyes.
Leon scratched his head, initially thinking that because he entered the tower with the soul consciousness of Lola, he triggered that so-called magic illusion, but it seems that wasn’t the case.
He was about to apologize for presuming wrongly about their relationship.
But before he could speak, he heard Lola say, “I am certainly an Illaril…
But well, calling her a disciple…
that’s not incorrect either.”
