Kissing Hellfire: Marry Me, Evil Lord
Chapter 94: Sweet as Always

Chapter 94: Sweet as Always

Alec was dead serious while tending to Lauren. When he saw the bruises on her arms and wrists, he imagined punishing those responsible for it by breaking their limbs one after another.

The small cut on Lauren’s face was healed by a healing spell but the bruises needed to be tended by a healer mage or else it would take days to heal, so Alec told a servant to call for a physician.

After she was tended by the physician, Lauren had a warm bath to wash out the dirt and the reek of blood from her body. Although she didn’t have an open wound, the red chamber had a strong reek of blood and even the tub of water she was drowned in was mixed with blood. Recalling the events that transpired that day, she felt drained.

"You were supposed to return this evening or tomorrow morning. I heard from the king," Lauren said after she bathed and found Alec on the balcony, drinking blood from a glass. She was in a thick robe while wiping her hair with a towel.

His eyes had turned back to gray, yet the dark red rim around his irises told her he got thirsty because what happened infuriated him.

"I got some people in the castle to watch over you. I know you are capable but you seem to attract trouble. About how I got here in a short amount of time, I don’t think you still need to ask."

His portal. Of course, how could he travel back to Evardin from Acheron if not for his ability?

"If you are thirsty, you can drink from me," she said which made his brows twitch. He didn’t expect the offer.

"What’s with the look? I only want to do my part so you won’t use it against me. I also don’t want you to go ravaging an innocent soul out there if your thirst is not satisfied."

He raised his brow and one corner of his lips tugged a bit. He walked back inside the room and put the glass on the table.

"Hmm... so this is how you thank me for saving you?" He nodded, a glint of wickedness peeked in his eyes. "I always prefer villains because they make up most of this world, but I guess I would love to be your hero if that is the case."

Alec inched closer to Lauren, towering over her. He breathed on her scent that was mixed with the smell of flowers from her bath. He sensed a bit of uneasiness from her that she tried to hide, letting him know that his presence intimidated her.

She did not flinch when he caressed her jaw with his knuckles but he caught her heart leap, and he loved how her heart reacted every time he touched her.

Her face that had a cut earlier was flawless now as it was very easy to heal a small cut, but Alec would not forget the person who dared hit Lauren. He never like it when someone damaged any of his possession. Even the slightest damage was enough to make his blood boil.

When he sank his fangs into her neck, a soft gasp escaped her lips. He savored her sweet blood on his tongue, not letting a drop go to waste. He couldn’t get enough of her taste but as much as he wanted to take more of her blood, he knew she had gone through a tiring day and her bruises were still healing, so he retracted his fangs after a few sips.

"Sweet as always, I must say." Alec licked his bottom lip. "That will do for now. I will drink more from you once you are in better shape."

"Should I thank you for your generosity?" Lauren asked with a sarcastic tone before walking away from Alec to get her clothes.

"Where are you going?" She asked when she noticed him walking to the door.

"Some things need to be taken care of," his words were brief before he shut the door behind him.

She had a bad feeling about his bleak tone.

Getting a random dress from her closet, she stared at it for a moment while her thoughts ran deep.

She knew the castle would turn chaotic after the coronation, but she didn’t expect things to go out of control. She didn’t think she would be framed for Casper’s death, nor did she foresee Alec would come running to save her from torture which offended the King. Some unexpected events happened causing disorder, so she needed to execute her plans sooner than expected.

But the thing was, she needed a little more time.

The King would pin her as Casper’s murderer and he wouldn’t spare Alec for disrespecting him. A court trial would surely happen and to win it, they needed to turn the tables, which would be a little hard.

For the past two years, she had been digging up her father’s dirt but he was too meticulous in cleaning his mess. She only found some, but it wasn’t enough to file a petition for his dethronement. She was still looking into his big crime that involved the state, however, she still lacked concrete evidence.

Downstairs, Alec strode into the hall and his eyes stopped at the two guards standing at the sides.

The head maid who was passing by with other maids was about to ask the crown prince if he needed anything, but she stopped when she saw Alec’s dark red eyes. Vampires rarely showed their vampire eyes when they were calm since the changing of their eye color was connected to how they felt. And that moment, the maid saw bloodlust in Alec’s eyes.

The tray of glasses slipped from a maid’s hands when every servant present in the hall witnessed how the elite vampire snapped the heads of the two guards as easily as breaking a twig in half. Blood splattered on the walls and floors, leaving the servants who witnessed the horrid murder shivering in fear.

"How dare you touch her with your filthy hands," he muttered under his breath and the other guards stepped back.
