Kissing Hellfire: Marry Me, Evil Lord -
Chapter 85: Give Me a Good Show
Chapter 85: Give Me a Good Show
It seemed to be a wedding portrait. They seemed to be members of nobility with the way they dressed. The man had a calm expression while there was a graceful smile on the woman’s face.
But why would a wedding portrait be in this spellbound ship?
Intrigued by the portrait, she wondered if it had something to do with the origin of the ship. As she thought about it deeply, she only remembered about Alec when she heard the door open.
Her heart pounded.
She looked down at the pocket watch and noticed Alec still had one minute left.
Thinking that he must be the one who entered the room, she swallowed hard. But then, he said special abilities and spells were no use down here so there was still a chance he wouldn’t sense where she was. The room was big and if she would hide herself in a corner and wait for the remaining minute to end, she would win.
She couldn’t hear his footsteps so she would not know if he was near. Fortunately, the dancing curtains gave way for her to walk in between the shelves on her left without getting seen.
Twenty seconds.
Making sure she was not making any sound with every step she made, she tiptoed to the other side of the shelves where there was a narrow pathway between the wall and the shelves. There was a table on the next aisle with a load of books, where she was planning to hide.
She released a soft shuddering breath when the sheer curtain hit her face after making it through the narrow pathway.
But when she removed the curtain from her face, her eyes widened when Alec’s face came into her view.
"Five seconds before your five minutes end and I got you," he uttered, declaring his victory.
She stepped back and shook her head. "How... how did you find me? You must have cheated!"
Remembering that she said yes to his terms, now she wanted to go back on her words. For sure he wouldn’t ask her to do a simple task!
"I didn’t cheat, Lauren. You see, I almost failed to catch you on time. Why don’t you just accept your defeat." A devious smirk was plastered on his face and it got her more annoyed.
"How did you get into this room though? I have been in every corner of this ship except this room. For some reason, it was always locked every time I visited in the past."
It drew Lauren’s brows closer. "Always locked? I didn’t open it. I was about to go to the third room but the door of this room suddenly opened. I saw the dancing curtains inside and curiosity got the best of me."
She led Alec to the portrait of a couple that she found odd.
"Do you know them?"
"No," came his quick reply.
"Do you think they have something to do with the existence of this ship? While staring at the portrait earlier, I have this thought... what if the man was a powerful mage and he made this ship as a gift to his wife?"
Alec’s narrowed at Lauren’s imagination. "For a woman who is not fond of love and romance, I didn’t think your mind can come up with a romantic scenario."
"I am still a woman. Don’t insult me," she threw him a subtle glare.
"It is possible. But why would they put their wedding portrait in a secluded ship like this? If I were the man, I’d prefer my wedding portrait to be in my house. Perhaps this woman was not his wife but his mistress. Maybe he married her in secret and created this ship to hold their little rendezvous here."
"You have such a malicious mind," Lauren said in disapproval.
"Why are we talking about them anyway? I like this ship but I’m not interested in knowing who these people are. You lost in our game, dear Lauren, so it is only right for me to claim my reward."
She felt a shiver on her nape, wondering what was stored for her in those dark gray eyes staring at her. Why did she even bite his trap anyway? Now she had to face the consequence.
"Let’s get out of here first," he said and walked across the room with her behind him, following his trail.
When they were back in the hallway, he strode past the rooms and entered the sixth room to his left.
Stepping into the room, she found nothing special about it. In fact, it looked like a study. There was a small shelf in the corner, a desk and a chair, and a large sofa with a small table in front of it. The table had a few wine bottles and glasses.
"And what shall we do here?" she asked but instead of answering, Alec sat on the sofa and poured himself a glass of wine.
She remained standing. As she watched his moves, she wondered what was on his mind.
He crossed his legs and took a sip from his glass before he spoke.
"I want you to give me a good show, my sweet wife."
It got her more confused. "Good show? Would you care to elaborate?"
"I am asking you to go in front of me. Strip and show me how you pleasure yourself."
His words made her jaw drop. The heat of embarrassment rose to her cheeks and she could not move for a moment. Did she hear him right?
"Are you fucking kidding me?" she blurted out. She had a feeling that he had evil plans but she did not expect it to be like this!
"T-there’s no way I will do that! I am not a courtesan you can order around to give you a dirty show-"
His deep and low chuckle interrupted her.
"It’s not funny. I want to go back to the castle now."
A vicious smile tugged on his lips as if he was enjoying the whole thing.
"I’m just jesting, Lauren. But I indeed want you to give me a good show," he glanced at the desk near the shelf. "See that violin? Get it and play a song for me."
How did he know that she could play violin?
