Kissing Hellfire: Marry Me, Evil Lord
Chapter 222: Worth a Death Sentence

Chapter 222: Worth a Death Sentence

"This is insane!" Lauren muttered as she paced back and forth.

The barrier Alec made was made by his blue fire magic and she didn’t have powerful magic to break it.

She understood how crucial the situation was and Alec wanted her to stay but being locked up without any idea of what’s happening upstairs was like torture.

It took Lauren a few minutes to calm down and realize that this must be for the better. Being exposed out there in the chaotic scene, there was a chance she wouldn’t be able to control herself and kill someone with her black mage’s power.

Or worse, with her emotional turmoil, she would suddenly turn into a monster and expose her true identity to everyone. It would create a big problem for Alec, and she didn’t want that.

So she guessed that this must be better. Being locked away.

She should just trust that Alec and Vincent and the rest of the royal army could subdue the rebels’ forces.

Armed with his blazing sword, Alec’s eyes turned crimson red as he stepped out of the castle’s main doors.

The lethal darkness lurking behind his eyes could burn down a whole town alone. He looked unforgiving and vicious, ready to slash the neck of anyone who would dare block his way.

In the midst of the battling crowd, he saw a familiar face.

Simon Lancelot.

Five rebels went to attack Alec but one slash of his powerful sword threw them away. On his way to where Simon Lancelot was, he found Vincent fighting along with the royal guards and soldiers.

"King Alec, it has been a long time since we-" Before Simon could finish his sentence, Alec had slashed his sword through the air and sent a disastrous wave of blue fire to Simon.

Simon blocked the attack on time. He lifted his arm in front of his face, creating a barrier. The barrier didn’t break but it moved him a meter back from where he stood, proving how strong the blow was.

Simon smirked. "Is that how you greet an old friend, Everston? How sweet of you."

"Shut up, Lancelot. How dare you step foot in my territory."

"Yes, this is your territory but it won’t remain that way for too long."

Alec’s eyes narrowed. "Are you really here to fight me or to have a chitchat? You are too talkative." In the middle of saying that, Alec summoned a ball of blue fire on his other hand and threw it to Simon at lightning speed.

Simon was quick to propel himself up to dodge the attack, but the ball of blue fire followed him, so he blocked it with his magic. He too, was a pureblooded vampire with some talents.

Simon leaped up to the roof of one of the courtyard’s pavilions. He put his sword flat over his shoulder and smiled cockily at Alec.

Alec moved swiftly and precisely, sending another wave of blue fire to Simon, which ended up crushing the whole pavilion.

"Want to know a secret, Everston?" Simon suddenly said in the middle of their fight, while their blades were against each other and both of their eyes were screaming for bloodshed.

"I am not interested in hearing any of your bullshits," Alec replied and twisted his sword, pushing himself back before lunging to strike again.

Simon laughed. "I’m sure until now you didn’t know how to cure Lauren’s illness." His laughter ceased and he said, "I know how."

Alec’s lips twitched darkly. "You think you can trick me with your silly antics? I know you want the throne. That’s why you are doing all of this."

Alec lifted his sword in front of his face. The dancing blue fire around his blade reflected on his eyes, making them seem to glow in a radiant blue hue.

Refusing to take any of his bullshits, Alec leaped and moved in different directions so fast any human eye couldn’t follow. His other hand produced a chain and with one swift move, he was able to catch Simon’s wrist with the chain, making Simon drop his sword.

Alec caught Simon’s neck and slammed him so hard to the ground that it created huge cracks on the ground and made rocks move up in the air.

Alec was ready to snap Simon’s neck out of his body when Simon stared straight into his eyes and everything in his surroundings changed.

He saw Lauren. Everything around him was all black, but that wasn’t what caught his attention. It was the state Lauren was in.

She was lying on his arms, cold and bloodied, and the glimmer in her eyes was slowly fading.

Alec’s jaw clenched. He had been warned by Lauren about Simon’s ability to give someone an illusion.

Simon smirked when he saw Alec’s eyes turn blank and pitch black, telling him that his illusion worked.

But just when he was about to punch Alec’s face so hard, Alec’s eyes flickered back to red like they were ignited by flames.

Simon’s forehead creased. Still gripping Simon’s neck, Alec shot his brow up.

"You think your cheap illusions can hold me?" Alec’s cold voice was low and velvety, like the devil whispering his best wishes to his victim before killing him.

Right that moment, Simon saw the incarnation of darkness right through Alec’s eyes.

It only took a fraction of a second for Alec to tear Simon’s head from his body and burn him with his blue fire. Simon’s lifeless eyes blazed as he was swallowed by Alec’s fire magic, turning him into ashes in just a matter of seconds.

"I can forgive someone coveting my throne. But coveting my wife?" The last trace of blue fire in Simon’s ashes reflected on Alec’s eyes before it returned to their dark shade. "That is a crime worth a death sentence."

Alec looked at the vast courtyard of the palace which had become a battlefield. Blood and bodies were scattered all over the place. Different weapons and sorts of magic were all over the air.

"The courtyard will need some cleaning after this, King Alec!" Vincent shouted in the distance. He was on the roof of a pavilion, holding a black mage’s head. He grinned before throwing it somewhere and leaping toward another enemy.

"The bastard is enjoying himself," muttered Alec before his eyes caught the arrival of the person he had been waiting for.

The leader of the rebels.
