Chapter 925 - 925 913 The Child with Gold in the Bustling
Chapter 925: Chapter 913: The Child with Gold in the Bustling Market Chapter 925: Chapter 913: The Child with Gold in the Bustling Market “Ule’s appetite is getting bigger and bigger!” Watching Muria leaving the treehouse, Heda’s face revealed a sigh of exasperation before turning to her spouse, “The pressure on you is getting greater now! It’s tough on you, Batu!”
“It’s not tough; I can still manage for now.” Having heard his mate’s concern, Batu responded with a touch of male pride bolstering him, but he couldn’t help adding at the end,
“Given Ule’s current rate of growth, after a thousand rotations of the sun and moon, I might not be able to provide him with enough meat anymore. And by that time, he will still have a long way to go before he’s an adult!”
“When that time comes, we’ll have to ask the help of other clansmen. We can’t let Ule grow up hungry!”
“…That’s the only way!” Batu’s face showed hesitation before he finally clenched his teeth and nodded. As a father, how could he let his son go hungry!
“Soon, you won’t have to struggle like this anymore!” Standing on the vine bridge outside his family’s treehouse, Muria’s gaze seemed to pierce through the cover of the treehouse, seeing his parents with furrowed brows, discussing how to support him.
He smiled helplessly, then walked down the vine bridge to his sleeping quarters—a tiny treehouse of only about twenty square meters where he spent the nights alone.
Given his age, it no longer seemed appropriate for him to share such a cramped treehouse with his parents. A coupled pair of Yikong People, with no other leisure or entertainment at night, can easily imagine what they may do.
So, to avoid embarrassment, Muria moved out as soon as he was old enough; it was just the right time since he was becoming more independent and it gave his parents some relief, too.
Glancing at his modest treehouse, Muria pushed open the wooden door that was practically for show, entered, and then sat cross-legged on a soft, large bed. After having had his food, he was about to start his nightly training.
He extended his palm and, under the glow of the surrounding plants, Muria could see a faint, fluorescent pattern on his wrist.
“Inhale!” Muria puffed up his chest, making a suction motion, then a few barely noticeable specks of fluorescence separated from the plants around him and slowly merged into his body.
As these flickers of light integrated into his body, Muria felt a warmth enveloping him, as though he were basking in sunlight on a winter’s day, pleasantly comfortable.
Then, Muria gradually started feeling a bloating sensation in his body. But as time passed, he kept on practicing his Breathing Methods, mobilizing his blood and Qi, devouring the fluorescent points drifting from the surrounding trees, which turned the feeling of fullness into a sensation of tearing.
As soon as this feeling emerged, Muria immediately stopped circulating his Breathing Methods; his body had reached its limit, and more would be too much. After all, the life essence of the Yikong People wasn’t comparable to even the weakest White Dragon of the Dragon Race, let alone the Titans, they were simply not on the same level.
“I need the legitimate methods of cultivation from this world!” Muria sensed his body, which had grown stronger, and clenched his fist.
The Breathing Methods he had devised could enhance his physique, which was the most basic and fundamental aspect. As long as he was a creature of flesh, Muria could come up with a system regardless of how the World Rules changed, unless he transformed into an elemental being.
But this was just the foundation. Muria wasn’t planning to become a meat shield or a warrior, so he wanted to master the Extraordinary powers of this world.
Although he had never seen such powers within the Tribe, Muria was certain that they existed in this world, and that they could be enhanced through cultivation. However, the conditions to control them were exceptionally stringent.
“The very ground I stand on is proof!” Muria got up in his little treehouse and then touched the foundation that supported it—a trunk glowing with a cyan-green light.
While he had been practicing his Breathing Methods earlier, he had drawn some light particles from this ancient tree into his body. He was aware of this change, but it wasn’t the result of his Breathing Methods, it was due to him being a Yikong Person.
“This is the Extraordinary Element of this world!” Muria raised his hand to touch the tree trunk; he could feel the vigorous energy contained within it, the force that allowed the trees to emit such Radiant fluorescence at night.
Unable to continue his training as his body was already saturated, Muria decided to leave the treehouse. He stepped over bridge after bridge hanging high above the ground, ignoring the sounds of the Yikong People engaged in nighttime activities. He reached the edge of the Tribe, the border where light met darkness.
The Outdoors was unlike the territory blanketed by the radiant light of countless trees behind him; it was shrouded in darkness with only faint glimmers of light scattered across the wild.
The trees outside did not glow in the dark; only those within the area occupied by his Tribe emitted light, forming a continuous luminescence.
Gazing upon this visibly distinct scene, Muria did not exhibit an overly surprised demeanor, for he had long been aware of it and knew the reason behind the apparent discrepancy.
Muria’s body leaned slightly backward, and then his body, under the influence of the Earth’s gravity, went into free fall as the sound of wind arose by his ears.
Smack!
With ease, Muria flipped and landed on the ground, stepping on a soft, fern-like plant that shimmered with a crystal-clear luster, making it look resplendent, splendid, and mysterious.
Having descended from the trees to the ground, Muria briefly searched and then picked up a stone, which, like the glowing trees, emitted blue and white luminescence; even amidst the glow of the surrounding trees, it seemed exceptionally dazzling.
An energy crystal stone! Holding the stone in his hand, Muria toyed with it, at a loss for what to say. Similar objects in Erathia World are called Elemental Crystals, likewise a kind of high-concentration condensed energy crystal.
However, these energy crystal stones, which could be used as hard currency in Erathia World, were ubiquitous here, or to put it more accurately, his tribe lived atop a vast energy crystal mine.
And the reason why the trees where his tribe lived glowed was because they were rooted in this massive energy mine.
“A child holding gold in a bustling market!” This was Muria’s view of this world and the intelligent race of the Yikong People living on it.
Take the Tunan Tribe where he currently resided as an example; the total number of Yikong People in his tribe barely exceeded a thousand. Yet such a small tribe occupied such an immense energy mine, from which one could infer that there were countless such energy mines in this world, perhaps even in abundance.
With such rich deposits of energy crystals, but where the intelligent civilization remained at a primitive stage, to certain existences or civilizations, this world was simply the prime target for colonization and plundering.
At the very least, if judged by the former Emperor of the Empire, Muria, this world would be rated first-class, with the difficulty of colonization and plundering being close to none, yet the rewards exceedingly bountiful.
“The tribe I was born into is too small! With such rich energy resources in this world, there should be no shortage of strong beings!” Muria gave it a try and then tossed aside the stone in his hand.
The energy within these stones could be absorbed and fused, but the threshold for doing so was extremely high, so high that Muria had not yet seen a single Yikong Person who could utilize these energy crystal stones.
In comparison to the energy contained within the stones, even the bodies of adult Yikong People seemed somewhat frail. Muria estimated that his own body’s strength had already surpassed that of an adult Yikong Person, but when he just tried to absorb the lowest concentration of energy crystal stone, he still felt a sharp sting.
“I need more time to strengthen my body!” Muria looked somewhat dejectedly at the stone he had thrown on the ground, noting that the stones at the tribe’s periphery were the ones with the lowest concentration, with the density increasing as one moved towards the tribe’s center.
“When I am able to absorb the energy from the stones, I won’t have to worry about food ever again!” Muria’s knees bent slightly, and elegant lines of muscle appeared on his legs.
He sprang up from the ground, and with just a couple of bounces, he stepped onto the tree trunk, returning to where he had initially dropped down.
“Marvelous trees!” Muria stood on the trunk, touching the fluorescent tree, aware of what these energy-absorbing trees meant to the Yikong People.
The trees rooted in the energy mine absorbed energy, which became gentler after the trees’ absorption and transformation. Still, the energy level also decreased by a notch. This level of energy could be absorbed and assimilated by the Yikong People in small amounts.
In other words, by building treehouses in these trees and living there long-term, the Yikong People’s bodies would slowly absorb the energy released by the trees, gradually enhancing their compatibility with energy crystals. Upon reaching a certain level, they could directly absorb the energy from the stones.
If this method of using energy had been conceived by some incredibly talented Yikong Person many years ago, Muria would have greatly praised them.
But if it evolved naturally, Muria could only say to the World Will of this realm: Idiot!
In Muria’s eyes, the civilization of the Yikong People was like a flower in a greenhouse, never experiencing storms or gales, because the world was too kind to the Yikong People, almost preparing everything for them. But this also stifled the hope for the development of civilization.
